RUGGED MT-DMU Series Multi Mount Insert Intercom Radio

Product Usage Instructions

  • First, insert the supplied hex bolt facing inward into the holes of the mount then insert the supplied lock washer and nut on either side.
  • Feed the intercom through the face of the mount, aligning the hex bolt heads with the channel on either side of the intercom.
  • Continue sliding the intercom flush to the face of the mount. Once in place, tighten the nuts with a 10mm Socket or Open-End Wrench to secure it.
  • On your radio, remove the Phillips Hex screws from either side using a 7mm Socket or Open-End Wrench.
  • Position and Insert the radio face through the back toward the front of the mount.
  • Align the holes on the mount with the holes on the radio then reinstall the Phillips Hex screws into either side.
  • Tighten the Phillips Hex Screws with a 7mm Open-End Wrench or Power Phillips Screwdriver to secure it in place.

The amount shown in the instructions is the MT-DMU-RUGGED.
NOTE: The only Intercoms that are compatible with these part numbers are the Rugged 696 & 696+ Intercoms.

Installing the Intercom

Step 1

  • First, insert the supplied hex bolt facing inward into the holes of the mount then insert the supplied lock washer and nut on either side.

Step 2

  • Feed the intercom through the face of the mount, aligning the hex bolt heads with the channel on either side of the intercom. Note how the bolts line up and position themselves in the slot.

Step 3

  • Continue sliding the intercom flush to the face of the mount. Once in place, tighten the nuts with the use of 10mm Socket or Open-End Wrench to secure it in place.

Installing the Radio

Step 4

  • On your radio, remove the Phillips Hex screws from either side using the 7mm Socket or Open-End Wrench.

Step 5

  • Position and Insert the radio face through the back toward the front of the mount.

Step 6

  • Align the holes on the mount with the holes on the radio then reinstall the Phillips Hex screws into either side.

Step 7

  • Tighten the Phillips Hex Screws with the use of 7mm Open-End Wrench or Power Phillips Screwdriver to secure it in place.

Radio & Intercom Mounting Complete

Now that the Radio and Intercom are mounted, the unit can now be installed to your vehicle. Once Installed in the vehicle, Make sure to wire your Radio and Intercom. Clean up any wiring and proceed to test the components in your vehicle. Check operation separately to ensure each device is functioning properly. Once all devices are on and functioning properly, re-check with the engine running. If any electronic noise is introduced in the system while the engine is running make sure all devices are not connected to 12V power. See the device manufacturer for available accessories.
