required for this process.
REVISION MARK: This mark highlights a change in installation with respect
to previous issue.
INSTRUCTION / INSTALLATION NOTES:
- After Safety mandated preparatory steps have been taken, the installation sequence is the suggested method for completing the accessory installation.
- When prying panels, use masking tape on all surfaces that a tool may come in contact with to prevent marring.
- After a wire tie is fully fastened, cleanly cut excess wire tie length with a pair of wire cutters.
- The wiring information is on an “as is” basis without any representation or warranty. It is the installer’s responsibility to verify any circuit before interfacing with it using a digital multi-meter.
- Manufacturer’s service documents can be used for any vehicle disassembly that may be depicted differently from what the instruction states.
- Use Wiring Diagram on last page of document to clarify cable or component names.
A. Pre-Installation Precaution
- Use Seat and Floor protectors to avoid damage to surfaces.
Disconnecting the battery prior to any ground or harness removal/ tapping to prevent possible vehicle damage is recommended. The battery may be temporarily reconnected and disconnected throughout the installation process to perform various tasks. However, prior to doing so all connectors and harnesses must be reassembled and reconnected. Once tasks are completed disconnect battery until installation is complete and DVD system is ready to be tested. After testing, the vehicles interior may be reassembled. If the vehicle is equipped with an Anti-theft radio, the code must be written down prior to disconnecting the battery cable. The code must be re-entered when the negative battery cable is re-installed. Disconnecting the battery may cause certain vehicle settings to be lost. Manufacturer’s recommendations for the battery removal should be followed.

B. Disassemble Vehicle Trim
- Locate and release the back panel elastic straps attached to the seat bottom frame. Elastic straps may wrap around a connector and connector may need to be separated from seat frame
(DO NOT UNPLUG Connectors). NOTICE: the back panel finish can be easily marred or torn, use care when working around it. **(Figure B1a-c)
**
- Using an NRT (Nylon Removal Tool) carefully raise and partially separate the head restraint rear cover enough to disengage the clips from the back. The head restraint will allow a 10mm gap. **(Figure B2a-b)
**
- On both sides of the seat, grasp the back panel where it meets the front trim, pull to release the clips and separate the back panel from the front. **(Figure B3)
**
- On both upper sides, using an NRT, pry in between the seat back and the front trim to release clips. **(Figure B4)
**
- Pull out on the bottom of the seat back panel releasing the 2 lower clips. Pull out and down on the seatback to remove. NOTICE: familiarize yourself with the 2 clips on the rear center of the seatback. When re-installing the seatback these clips need to re-engage into the rear frame. (Figure B5a-c)
- Using your fingers, press the retaining clips toward each other to release the front head restraint posts. Lift and remove the front head restraint. NOTICE: Figure B6c show the clips after the head restraint has been removed to show location. (Figure B6a-c)
- Repeat steps B1-6 on the opposite seat.
C. Head Restraint Trim Preparation
-
Using a 7mm Socket and ratchet, remove the 2 bolts on the bottom edge of the head restraint rear trim. Slide the rear trim upward and off the headrest restraint. (Figure C1a-c)
-
Protect the vinyl surface by laying tape across the edge of the rear trim cover. Using a marker, draw a line from side to side on the rear side of the chrome. Also mark lines just before the clips.
Using a Dremel cut off wheel, trim the excess chrome and plastic behind chrome from the rear trim cover. (Figure C2a-d) -
Using a Dremel, cut outer chrome the width of the rear seat entertainment bracket. Use bracket to determine the cut area. Use a pliers to finish breaking away the chrome piece. Make sure there is no obstructions blocking the rear of the trim panel. Test fit onto seat to check for clearance. (Figure C3a-c)
-
Peel the vinyl away from the plastic trim as marked, remove a section of material from the rear cover plastic using a side cuts or Dremel (tool most comfortable with) to allow for the rear seat entertainment cable to pass through with ease. Re wrap the vinyl material back around the plastic. You can glue this back in place or float the material. Before re-installing trim cover onto headrest frame, fit cover to rear seat (Step D2b) after bracket installation to make sure enough plastic has been removed. (Figure C4-5)
D. Monitor to bracket Install
- Locate SB10UHD monitor, carefully lay down the monitor face first on a soft surface. (Figure D1)
- Slide bracket into mounting area of the monitor. (Figure D2)
- Using a Phillips screwdriver, install 3 screws. (Figure D3)
- Move bracket to its forward position. Using a Phillips screwdriver, install 3 screws. (Figure D4)
- Install screw cover. The monitor and bracket are ready to install in vehicle. (Figure D5)
E. Monitor Bracket Installation
-
Slide hooks of the rear seat entertainment bracket into the openings of the seat frame.
Using the bolts provided, insert to hold bracket in place. Install nut to rear side of bolt and tighten using a 11mm socket and ratchet. (Figure E1-3) -
Make sure monitor cable is routed as pictured, from rear of monitor and between the metal tabs.
Continue routing cable along with factory cable on left side of frame. Figure E5 shows clearance of cable and rear seat cover. (Figure E4) -
Continue routing cables to lower seat and securing with supplied wire ties. (Figure E6-8)
NOTE: before installing seatback cover, you want to test fit the head restraint for cut out clearance. Make sure the rear cover locks into the bracket. -
Re-attach the rear seatback cover in the reverse removal process. Make sure that the 2- middle clips engage into the seat frame properly.
Make sure the cables do not cause any interference with the seat back cover. NOTICE:
If the 2 clips do not engage properly, the seat back will NOT attach to the front trim properly. Re-install the Head restraint into the post guides. Lower to its locking position. Push rear trim cover down into its locking clips.
F. Harness Routing -Power/Ground Location
- Route seat harness from seat bottom following the factory harness down and into carpet opening. Route harness over to center console at break in carpet. (Figure F1)
- On driver side, using a wire pull, route driver harness under center console to passenger side. (Figure F2)
- Connect Driver and Passenger seat harnesses to T-Harness. Once connected, slide all excess cable under center console leaving only the power and ground wires. (Figure F3-5)
- In small opening along passenger side of the center console, reach into the opening you will find a connector with power and ground. This is the factory connector for rear seat entertainment. (Figure F6)
- Make all connection to Power and Ground using. (Figure F7)
- Once all connections have been made, turn on the vehicle and test the system.
G. Reassemble Trim
- Trim all wire tie ends
- Reassemble all trim removed in earlier sections. (Figure G1-2)
J. Complete Installation
