Cosmic Craft 1014-1010-A Toyota Sequoia Receiver Hitch Cover Installation Guide

  • (4) Velcro Strips
  • (4) Velcro InserJon Tools
  • (2) Velcro Cinching Buckles

Required Tools

  • 12mm Socket Wrench
  • Scissors

Installation

  1. Remove the factory receiver hitch cover and install your preferred ball mount or other receiver hitch accessory.

  2. Using the 12mm socket wrench, remove the two bolts securing the trailer plug bracket.

  3. Disconnect the wiring harness from the trailer plug.

  4. Remove the trailer plug from the trailer plug bracket.

  5. Remove the wire strainer from the trailer plug. You may need to unwrap or cut away some of the tape on the wiring harness to get the tail of the strainer out from under the tape.

(Depress these tabs to disconnect strainer)

  1. Install the Velcro insertion tools onto the Velcro strips.

  2. Insert the bottom two insertion tools through the outer most slots in the bumper fascia. You may need to push and pull on the bumper plastics from the back side and guide the insertion tools with your hands to feed them through.

  3. Insert the top le2 insertion tool into the outer most slot at the top of the bumper fascia. Locate the insertion tool from the back of the bumper and guide it down behind the bumper tube as shown.

  4. Repeat on the right side.

  5. Pull the bottom Velcro strips from the back side while guiding the tabs on the cover into the slots from the front side. Pull the Velcro tight to fully seat the bottom tabs into the bumper.

  6. Pull the top Velcro strips from the back side while guiding the top tabs into the slots from the front side. Pull the Velcro tight to full seat the top tabs into the bumper.

  7. Loop the top Velcro strips around the cinch buckle and secure it tightly. The cinch buckle should be located just below the bumper tube or behind the bumper tube to allow adequate slack to tighten.

  8. Loop the bottom velcro strips through the cinch buckles and cinch tightly to draw the cover tight against the bumper. Do not be afraid to overtighten. Once cinched tightly, secure the velcro and then trim off the excess.

  9. Feed the trailer plug wiring harness through the cutout in the cover.

  10. Reconnect the trailer plug to the harness, then push into the cutout in the cover to secure.
