GENERAL DESCRIPTION

GYSflash 3.48PL is ideal for charging most lead-acid (Gel, AGM, Liquid,…) and lithium batteries of the Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP / LiFePO4) and «standard» lithium-ion types such as Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC), Lithium nickel cobalt aluminium oxide (NCA), Lithium Cobalt Oxide (LCO), Lithium Polymer (Li-Po), Lithium Manganese Cobalt Oxide (MCO) etc.

This charger is perfectly suitable to charge :

  • 48V lead-acid batteries (24 cells in series)
  • LFP 48V batteries (15 cells in series)
  • LFP 48V batteries (16 cells in series)
  • 48V «standard» Lithium-ion batteries (13 cells in series)
  • 48V «standard» Lithium-ion batteries (14 cells in series)

The GYSFLASH 3.48 PL is equipped with an integrated temperature sensor that ensures that the charging current is adapted to the ambient temperature for an optimal charging performance when charging a leadacid battery. This adjustment ensures a highly precise charge, relative to the temperature of the room.

STARTUP

  1. Connect the charger to the battery using the proper accessory (clamps, lugs, etc…).
  2. Plug the charger to the mains (single phase 220-240Vac 50-60Hz).
  3. Unlock the charger by pressing button for 3 seconds, select the mode by pressing button . again. Lock the mode by pressing button again for 3 seconds. After roughly five seconds, the charge starts automatically.
  4. During the charge, the device indicates charging progress. When the indicator  light flashes, the battery is ready to start an engine. When indicator is steady, the battery is fully charged.
  5. The charge can be interrupted at any time by unplugging the mains plug or pressing the button .
  6. After the charge, disconnect the charger from the mains, then disconnect the clamps from the battery.

CHARGING MODES

Description des Modes et Courants de charge :

Some Lithium batteries have a buit-in UVP protection (Under Voltage Protection) which disconnect the battery in case of deep discharge. This protection prevents the charger from detecting the battery. In order for the Gysflash to charge the battery, it is necessary to deactivate the UVP protection. To do this, place the charger in one of the Lithium charging modes, disconnect the charger from the mains, hold down button and then reconnect the mains plug, once the charger LED (charging in progress indicator) flashes, you can release the button The charger will then deactivate the UVP protection and automatically start charging.

*Lead-acid battery equivalent: A lithium battery has better starting performance (CCA) than a lead battery. This is why some lithium battery manufacturers provide the battery lead-acid equivalent (EqPb) that indicates the capacity of a lead-acid battery with the same starting performance. For instance, a LFP battery of 10 Ah will have the same starting performance as a lead-acid battery of around 30 Ah.

Protections :
The GYSFLASH 3.48PL has several features to protect it against short-circuits or polarity inversions. It has an antispark feature which prevents sparks whilst connecting the device to the battery. This charger has double insulation and is safe to use with the battery in situ as it will protect the vehicle’s on-board electronics. The GYSFlash 3.48PL is fitted with an integrated temperature probe that ensures that the charging current is adapted to the ambient temperature, for an optimal charging performance.
