Product Usage Instructions:
Preparation
- Place a small amount of OVD* in the cartridge tip and line each channel of the cartridge with OVD without touching the front tip.
- Gently pull the lens from its holder using fine-tipped forceps, ensuring it does not dry up.
Assembly

Center the lens in the opened cartridge, paying attention to meridian marks for high diopter toric IOLs.

Hold the IOL in place with folding forceps while closing the cartridge securely until you hear a click.
Injection Process -
Ensure the lens is positioned correctly within the closed cartridge with freely movable haptics.

Mount the tip holder onto the shooter tip and insert the plunger into the blue silicone tip’s recess.

Place the cartridge in the loading deck of the shooter and push it forward.

Push the plunger with the blue silicone tip into the cartridge channel to advance the lens forward.
Implantation -
Verify the lens position by gently advancing it until visible at the tip of the cartridge to start the implantation process.

Q: Can I reuse the VISCOJECT-BIO 1.8 Cartridge Set?
A: No, it is recommended by Carl Zeiss Meditec not to reuse the cartridge set for safety and efficacy reasons. -

Handling instructions for non-preloaded ZEISS MICS IOLs

Place a small amount of OVD* in the cartridge tip. Place a line of OVD in each channel of the cartridge.
Do not touch the front tip of the cartridge. -
Pull the lens gently from its holder using a forceps with fine tips.
Do not let the IOL dry up.
Do not use the fl uid from the bottle for ocular irrigation. -
Place the lens in the center of the opened cartridge. For high diopter toric IOLs, mind the meridian marks.

Maintain the IOL in place with the folding forceps while closing the cartridge. Close the cartridge until you hear a click.

Control the position of the lens within the channel of the closed cartridge. Haptic must be freely movable.

Mount the tip holder onto shooter tip. Insert the plunger into the recess of the blue silicone tip and remove the tip from its holder by retracting the plunger.

Place the cartridge into the loading deck of the shooter and push it forward.

Gently push the plunger with the blue silicone tip mounted on it straight into the cartridge channel and start to push the lens forward.

Check the correct positioning of the lens. Gently push forward the lens until it becomes visible in the tip of the cartridge. Start implantation of lens.
*Carl Zeiss Meditec recommends the use of ZEISS OVDs.
