COMMSCOPE PCA-16-25MM2-2C Adaptor for 2 Core DC Power Cable

Specifications

  • Product: PCA-16-25MM2-2C Adaptor
  • For: 2 Core DC Power Cable Installation
  • Model: Bulletin 7859699 Revision F

Product Usage Instructions

Cable Preparation

  • Check the OD of the cable jacket and select the correct sealing rubber for both output and input cables.

Output Cable Installation

  • Lead the Output cable through the No.1 nut, No.2 holding nut, hold-down rings (if required), No.3 or No.4 sealing rubber, and No.5 shell.
  • Verify cable OD requirements and use No.2 or No.11 sealing rubber accordingly.

Input Cable Installation

  • Lead the Input cable through the No.12 nut, No.11 holding nut, No.9 or No.10 sealing rubber, and then the No.8 plastic clip.
  • Check cable OD requirements and use hold-down rings No.2 or No.11 as needed.

Cable Stripping and Twisting

  • Strip the cable outer jacket to 45 +/- 2 mm without cutting the shielding braid.
  • Remove individual fractured shielding wire, twist the shielding of the copper cable, and cut the core wire to 35 +/- 2 mm.
  • Strip the inner conductor jacket to 20 +/- 1 mm and twist the cable conductor 6 times if it is stranded wire.

Final Assembly

  • Install the core wires into the correct holes after twisting them, following the provided guidelines.

FAQ

  • Q: What should I do if the cable OD is between the specified ranges?
  • A: Use the appropriate sealing rubber and hold-down rings as indicated for the specific OD range mentioned in the instructions.
  • Q: Can I cut the shielding braid during cable preparation?
  • A: Do not cut the shielding braid when stripping the cable outer jacket to ensure proper installation.

Installation Instructions

  1. Check the OD of the cable jacket, and select the correct sealing rubber for the cable on both the output and input sides. Hold-down rings No.2 and No.11 for sealing rubber not shown in illustrations, verify cable OD for requirement.
  2. Lead the Output cable through the No.1 nut, No.2 holding nut (if required), No.3 or No.4 sealing rubber, and No.5 shell. Then lead the Input cable through the No.12 nut, No.11 holding nut (if required), No.9 or No.10 sealing rubber and then the No.8 plastic clip.
  3. Strip the cable outer jacket to 45 +/- 2 mm, don’t cut the shielding braid.
  4. Remove individual fractured shielding wire. Twist the shielding of copper cable and cut the core wire to 35 +/- 2 mm
  5. Strip the inner jacket of the conductor to 20 +/- 1 mm, which can refer to the groove length on the insulator.
  6. Twist the cable conductor 6 times by hand if it is stranded wire as shown below, then install the core wires into the correct holes.
  7. Tighten the screws in the two holes by using a torque screwdriver. The torque force should be 2.5 N·m to avoid short circuits. Repeat the 6th and 7th steps again to assemble the cable to the other side of the insulator.
  8. Tighten the shielding screw in shield terminal by using a torque screwdriver. The torque force should be 1 N·m. Side the No.5 shell over the No.7 insulator.
  9. Press the sealing rubber into the No.5 shell. Assemble the No.1 nut and No.2 Hold-down ring (if utilized) onto the No.5 shell using an M30 spanner and an M40 spanner as shown. The torque force should be 2.5 N·m.
  10. Press the No.8 plastic clip into the No.5 shell. Press the sealing rubber into the No.8 plastic clip. Assemble the No.12 nut and No.11 Hold-down ring (if utilized) onto the No.5 shell using an M40 spanner and an M42 spanner as shown. The torque force should be 2.5 N·m.
