Getting started
Switching on/off
- To switch the barbecue thermometer on, press the /H button (4) briefly. The display (1) switches on.
- Press and hold the /H button (4) for approx. 3 seconds to switch the barbecue thermometer off. The display (1) switches off.
- The display (1) lighting switches off after approx. 30 seconds if no buttons are pressed.
- The barbecue thermometer switches off automatically after about 20 minutes if it is not used.
Selecting the temperature unit
Press the C/F button (2) briefly to switch between °C and °F. The temperature
unit selected is shown on the display (1).
Measuring the core temperature
-
To do this, fold out the temperature sensor (6). Guide the point of the temperature sensor (6) into the thickest part of the food. It makes sense to feed the temperature sensor (6) into the meat from the side.
-
Avoid contact between the temperature sensor (6) and bones. This can result in an inaccurate temperature measurement. The temperature sensor (6) should also not be inserted into pure fat for the same reason.
-
After a short time, the core temperature of the food is shown on the display (1). It goes up as the cooking time increases.
-
If you added multiple pieces of the same food of similar shape and size to the pan or the barbecue at the same time, you can assume that the correct temperature has also been achieved for the other pieces as well.
-
Press the /H button (4) briefly to save the value shown on the display (1). The value now flashes on the display (1). Then press the /H button (4) again to return to the current temperature display.
-
After measuring the temperature, remove the temperature sensor (6) from the food and clean the barbecue thermometer as described in the “Cleaning” chapter.
