OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Safety instructions Read carefully!

• CAUTION: The machine may become a dangerous tool if used incorrectly or inconsistently with the safety rules. To make sure your work is pleasant and safe, always strictly follow the safety rules specified in this user’s manual.
• ATTENTION! The ignition system in the unit creates an electromagnetic field of very low intensity. This field may interfere with some pacemakers. In order to reduce the risk of serious or deadly injuries, people with pacemakers should consult with their doctor and the manufacturer before operating the machine.
• CAUTION: National legal regulations may limit the machine usage.
• Do not use the machine until you get fully familiar with the operation. Before using the pump, the user must fully understand the operation and all machine controls.
• The machine may only be operated by adults in good physical condition who have read and fully understood the user’s manual.
• Never use the machine if you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medications.
• Always use personal protective equipment while working, namely gloves, working clothes, protective glasses, and hearing protection.
• Do not allow other persons or animals to stay within the machine’s working range during start-up and operation (fi g.1).
• Place the machine in a stable position (fi g.2).
• Do not perform maintenance while the engine is in operation.
• Inspect the machine daily, making sure that all safety and other devices work correctly.
• Do not work with the machine if damaged, poorly repaired, incorrectly assembled, or modified. Do not remove and/or override the safety devices.
• Use the machine in well-ventilated areas only. Do not work with the water pump in an explosive or combustible environment. Do not use the pump in enclosed areas or the vicinity of combustible substances.
• It’s forbidden to connect an impeller other than that supplied by the manufacturer to the machine power take-off shaft.
• If the machine is no longer to be used, do not discard it in household waste but return it to your dealer or waste recycling center instead for environmentally-friendly disposal.
• Please hand over / lend the machine only to skilled persons familiar with its operation and correct use.
• Please make sure that even those people are provided with the user’s manual so that they can get familiar with the correct use of the pump before operation.
• Please store this user’s manual in a way that it’s always at hand when needed.
• Please keep the warning labels placed on the machine to warn the operator of a danger in a legible condition. Replace the labels with new ones if damaged.
• Never start the machine without the impeller in place. This will lead to serious damage to the engine parts, rendering the warranty void.
• Do not use the machine in the vicinity of electric equipment and power lines.
• Do not tap on / apply force to the impeller blades, never work with a damaged impeller.
• Do not use the machine to pump combustible or corrosive substances.
• Do not install the pump impeller or housing on other engines or prime movers.
• Each time before starting to work, make sure that no rivets or fasteners are loose or missing.
• Do not use the pump for purposes other than those recommended by the manufacturer in the user’s manual.
• Please note that the owner and/or staff member is responsible for injuries or dangers incurred to third persons or their property.

Safety instructions

Fuel

• The fuel tank must be empty while the pump is being transported.
• The fuels are to be transported in approved canisters only.
• Please check the fuel tank cap regularly. It must be tightened and fuel must not leak out
• Protect the environment: take care to prevent fuel leakage and soil contamination.
• Start the machine at least 3m from the fuel refilling location.
• Never refill the fuel in enclosed areas. There must be sufficient ventilation in the room, risk of an explosion.
• Do not inhale the fuel vapors. Wear safety gloves while refilling the fuel.
• Change and clean the protective clothes regularly.
• ATTENTION! If instructions are not followed, there is a danger of a serious or even fatal

BEFORE STARTING

Operating instructions

• Petrol-powered garden pumps are exclusively designed to pump water and neutral liquids with temperature corresponding to the surrounding temperature.
• OPERATING BY PERSONS UNDER 18 IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.
• ATTENTION! Keep watch over the work area: never aim the water jet at people or animals. Stop the engine immediately if anybody is getting closer.

CAUTION ABOUT THE WORK AREA!

• Never work in the vicinity of power lines or buildings.
• Only work if the ambient lighting conditions are sufficient for clear visibility.
• Take particular care when using the protective equipment as some personal protective equipment may limit your ability to hear the sounds indicating danger (prompts, signals, warnings etc.).
• Pay great attention to working on the slope and inhomogeneous terrain.

FORBIDDEN USE

• It’s EXPRESSLY FORBIDDEN to pump the following substances:
• All kinds and types of paints
• All kinds and types of solvents and thinners
• All kinds and types of fuels and lubricants
• All kinds and types of gases or liquefied propane
• All kinds and types of flammable liquids
• Food liquids designed for animals and people
• Liquids containing solid granules or particles
• Mixtures of several chemicals incompatible with one another
• Liquids with temperatures over 40°C
• All products not corresponding to the intended machine use
• Liquids containing anti-parasitic agents, herbicides, or pesticides
• CAUTION: Petrol-powered garden pumps are not to be used as safety equipment to extinguish fires. Do not pump liquids in containers that might explode due to overpressure.

FUEL HANDLING RULES

• To reduce the risk of fire or burns, handle the fuel with care. It’s extremely inflammable.
• Mix and store the fuel only in a container approved for the given fuel type.
• Mix the fuel outdoors where there is no risk of sparks or fire occurrence.
• Before refilling the fuel, put the machine on the ground, stop the engine, and wait until it has cooled down.
• Loosen the fuel tank cap slowly to allow the overpressure to release and avoid the fuel spilling.
• When refilled, tighten the fuel tank cap firmly. Vibrations may lead to the cap loosening and fuel leakage.
• Carefully wipespiltfuel, if any. Before starting the engine, please go at least 3m away from the fuel refilling location.
• Never under any circumstances attempt to burn spilled fuel.
• Store the fuel in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated location.
• Do not store the fuel in places with dry foliage, straw, paper, etc.
• Store the engine unit and the fuel in places where the fuel vapors do not come into contact with sparks, naked flame, water heaters, heating boilers, electric motors, switches, ranges, ovens, etc.
• Never remove the fuel tank cap while the engine is running.
• Do not use the fuel for cleaning.
• Take care to avoid the fuel coming into contact with clothing parts.

PREPARING THE FUEL MIXTURE

• WARNING!
  • Never refill the fuel in the tank in a closed and non-ventilated space.
  • Do not refill the fuel in the vicinity of a naked flame or a sparking source.
  • Do not overfill the tank. Before starting the engine, make sure that all spilled fuel is wiped away.
  • DO NOT REFILL THE FUEL if the engine is hot.
  • For this type of two-stroke engine, a mixture of unleaded petrol and two-stroke oil in a 25:1 ratio is used.
  • ATTENTION! Fuel mixture in a ratio other than 25:1 may lead to engine damage. Make sure that this fuel mix is mixed correctly.
  • When mixing petrol with two-stroke oil, please use only petrol free of ANY ETHANOL OR METHANOL (alcohol types).
  • Please use only quality petrol having an octane number of 95 or higher. This will help prevent possible damage to the fuel system and other parts of the engine.
  • We recommend the use of the calibrated container supplied with the brush cutter for mixing the fuel mix. DO
  • NOT MIX PETROL AND OIL DIRECTLY IN THE FUEL TANK.
• Storing fuel
  • Only store fuel in a clean, safe, and approved canister. Learn and adhere to local directives related to the type and storage of canisters filled with fuel.
• IMPORTANT
  • Two-stroke fuel may separate. Before every use, thoroughly shake the canister with fuel.
  • Stored fuel ages. Do not mix more fuel than you expect to consume within one month.

SETUP – INSTALLATION

• Make sure that the connections are properly sealed by tightening in.
• Connect the suction and discharge hose to the pump. Use clamps to fix the hose to the connections.
• CAUTION: Do not replace the original connections (supplied) for other ones of different materials to avoid damage to the pump housing. Suction hose
• The hose must be firm and incompressible (such as spring-reinforced)
• The hose must be equipped with a suction strainer with a non-return valve. The strainer must be properly fixed with a clamp (fi g.4). This will prevent the hose from aeration and foreign particles from penetrating the pump.

Filling

• Place the pump as close to the water as possible.
• Install the pump correctly (fi g. 5).
• Fill the pump fully with water through the inlet orifice (fi g.6, point 1).
• CAUTION: If the pump does not operate immediately or after more than 4 minutes, the likely cause is in the partial filling of the suction hose or air intake. Recheck the condition of all sealings and tightening of connections. Refill the pump completely using the filling opening (fi g.6, point 1). To set the flow rate value (from min. to max.), use the carburetor throttle trigger (fi g.6, point 2).
• ATTENTION! Never start the pump without water. This could lead to serious damage to the engine parts, rendering the warranty void immediately.
• ATTENTION! Don’t exceed the maximum suction depth of 7m.

STARTING THE PUMP

PROCEDURES TO START AND STOP THE ENGINE Starting a cold engine

1. Set the throttle trigger (fi g.7, point 1) approximately halfway of its path.
2. Repeatedly push down the fuel primer bulb (3 to 5 presses), until the fuel gets to the carburetor. (Fig. 7, point 5)
3. Move the choke lever upwards to the “OFF” position (=air supply turned off, i.e. choke turned on). (Fig. 7, point 3)
4. Hold the pump on the ground with your left hand and pull the starting cord with your right hand (fi g.7, point 4), until the engine is given a spin (attempting to start up).
5. At this point, push the choke lever downwards to the “ON” position (=air supply turned on, i.e. choke turned off) and start the engine by repeatedly pulling on the starting cord.
   • ATTENTION! Spinning the engine for too long with the choke lever in the OFF position will result in flooding of the engine and problems with starting it up.
6. Before starting work, leave the engine to warm up for a few minutes to get up to operating temperature.

Starting a warm engine

1. Set the throttle trigger (fi g.7, point 1) approximately halfway of its path.
2. Pull on the handle of the starting cord until the engine starts up. DO NOT USE THE CHOKE!

ATTENTION! If the fuel in the fuel tank is completely used up, after pouring in fuel, repeat the steps for STARTING A COLD ENGINE.

• Speed control – pumping power control
  • To control the engine speed along with the pump output, operate the throttle trigger (fi g.7, point 1).
• Stopping the engine
  • To stop the engine, press the STOP button (fi g.7, point 2).
  • WARNING! The engine exhaust fumes contain chemical substances that are harmful to health. Never inhale these fumes. Always start the pump outside the building.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

Machine maintenance

• Before each use:
  • Check that all nuts and bolts are tightened.
  • Check that no fuel is leaking from the fuel tank.
• After each 20 operating hours (for this purpose, we recommend contacting your authorized service center):
  • Clean the air filter.
  • Clean the fuel filter.
• After each 50 operating hours (for this purpose, we recommend contacting your authorized service center):
  • Clean the spark plug and adjust the gap between the electrodes to a distance of 0.6–0.7mm.
  • Clean out deposits from the exhaust and muffler.
  • Recheck the assembly after maintenance and check if all screws and nuts are tightened.
• Service
  • If you find any defect after purchasing your product, please contact your service department. When using the product, follow the instructions contained in the included user’s manual.
  • Your claim will be void if the product was modified or the instructions in the user’s manual were not followed.
• The warranty does not cover
  • Fair wear and tear of the machine’s functional parts as a result of using Service actions related to the machine’s standard maintenance (such as cleaning, lubrication, adjustment etc.)
  • Defects caused by external influences (such as climate conditions, dust exposure, inappropriate use, etc.) Mechanical faults due to machine falling, impact, hitting, etc.
  • Damages resulting from unprofessional handling, overloading, using wrong spare parts, inappropriate tools, etc.
  • In the case of claimed products that have not been properly secured against mechanical damage during transport, the potential risk of damage shall be solely borne by the owner.
• Storage
  • ATTENTION! If you will not be using the machine for an extended period, store it according to the following instructions. This will extend the lifetime of the machine.
  • Completely evacuate all fuel from the tank and the carburettor. Close the choke and pull on the cord 3 to 5 times.
  • Screw out the spark plug and pour a small amount of motor oil into the opening. Gently pull the pull cord 2 to 3 times.
  • Clean the outer surfaces with a clean cloth. Store the machine in a clean dry location.
