  2. Remove the oil dipstick cap from the oil filling hole (Fig. 3).
  3. After adding oil, place the measuring cup back into the hole and tighten it.
  4. The oil level must be between the upper (MAX) and lower (MIN) limits (Fig. 3).

Remark! DO NOT overfill the oil container, Otherwise, when you start the mower, a large amount of smoke will start to come out of the exhaust pipe.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Check the oil level before each use of the lawnmower. Add oil if necessary. Add oil to the MAX mark on the oil dipstick.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Change the oil after the first 5 hours of operation and after every 25 hours of operation.

REFUELLING

Suitable fuel for this type of engine is NATURAL 95

After unscrewing the fuel tank cap (Fig. 1 – point 6), add fuel up to the neck of the fuel tank. Do not overfill the tank.

Always add fresh, clean and certified unleaded petrol with an octane rating of min. 95.

Remark! If you get dirt on the mower while adding oil or fuel, wipe it down immediately. Do not store, add fuel or tamper with it near an open flame.

Remark! Fuel mixed with alcohol, or fuel mixed with ethanol or methane, can bind moisture, which can lead to separation and acid formation during storage. During storage, acid fumes can damage the lawn mower engine’s fuel system. Such fuel must not be used in the lawnmower.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:  If you will not use the mower for more than 30 days, empty the fuel tank, start the engine, and leave it running until the fuel pipes and carburetor are drained (the engine will stall on its own). This procedure prevents engine problems in the future.

Add fresh fuel to the tank before using it again. For more details, see Storage.

RANGE OF USE OF A PETROL LAWN MOWER

Mowing with collection of grass clippings in the basket Mowing with rear discharge of grass clippings

Mulching – mowing with slow laying of grass on the lawn

REMARK! Do not use the mower on slopes with a slope of more than 20° – there is a risk of overheating the engine!

MOWING WITH COLLECTION OF GRASS CLIPPINGS IN THE BASKET

With the basket attached, the grass clippings get into the basket.

NOTE: If you are not satisfied with the mowing result, increase the cutting height and make sure that the lawn is not damp.

MOWING WITH REAR DISCHARGE

If the grass catcher is not attached, the catcher lid serves as a so-called deflector to cause the grass clippings to fall to the ground. As a result, a row of grass clippings is created behind the grass clippings.

MULCHING

Remark! The mulching end cap should only be attached and removed when the engine is switched off.

Remark! When mulching, use only original mulching equipment.

  1. Remove the basket and hold the plastic basket lid with your hand (Fig. 6 – point 1)
  2. Install the mulching end cap into the discharge tunnel

(Fig. 6 – point 2) and make sure that it is firmly seated.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Do not mulch tall grass at once. This will prevent overloading the mower mechanism and motor.

CUTTING HEIGHT SETTINGS

Adjust the cutting height centrally using the central cutting height adjustment lever (Fig. 1 – point 10).

There are 5 positions to choose from in the range of 25 – 75 mm. For mowing most lawns, a medium height is most suitable.

If the height is set to the lowest level, damage to the lawn can occur.

REMARK! For maximum efficiency, shorten the length of the grass by a maximum of 1/3 of its length. Tall grass should be mowed gradually and the height setting should be reduced by one degree after each mowing.

To maintain the quality of your lawn, do not use the settings for the lowest cutting height.

CHANGING THE CUTTING BLADES

Remark! To replace the air filter, we recommend that you contact an authorized service center.

Remark! Before disassembling the knife, remove the oil from the oil tank.

To replace the cutting blade, remove the screw (Fig. 7). Assemble according to the figure shown. Tighten the screw. The tightening torque is 40 Nm. Replace the knife tightening screw at the same time as replacing the knife.

CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL

Remark! To replace the air filter, we recommend that you contact an authorized service center.

Run the mower engine for a short while to allow the oil to warm up. Then suck out the oil with an oil extractor

FZR 9050. Add SAE30 or 15W-40 oil to the tank. After inserting the oil dipstick into the hole and screwing it on, the oil level should be between the Min lines.

and Max. (Fig. 8). Do not overfill the oil tank. Start the engine and leave it running for a while. Stop the engine, wait 1 minute and measure the oil level in the tank. If necessary, add oil to the appropriate level.

  • NOTE: After turning off the engine, the knife continues to rotate for a few more seconds.

    • In case of non-standard vibrations of the mower (check immediately and correct the cause of the vibration).
    • To ensure safe operation, regularly check the tightness of the trunnions, bolts and nuts on the mower.

NOTE: FUEL IS A HIGHLY FLAMMABLE LIQUID.

Store fuel in the tank provided for this purpose.

Refuel only in an open or well-ventilated area. Do not smoke cigarettes or use a mobile phone when handling fuel.

Refuel should only be refuelled when the engine is switched off. Never open the fuel tank and refill it if the engine is hot or running.

If a gasoline spill occurs, do not start the engine. Remove the mower from the area where the fuel has been spilled to avoid possible ignition. Continue to work only after the spilled fuel has evaporated and the fuel vapors have dissipated.

After refueling, tighten the fuel tank cap and fuel canister cap securely.

NOTE: Before beginning maintenance or repair, turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug.

9. MAINTENANCE

LAWN CARE

Depending on the type of lawn, different care methods should be used.

Therefore, it is always important to read the tips on the seed packets regarding the cutting height, taking into account the conditions of grass growth in the area.

Keep in mind that most grass is made up of a blade and one or more leaves.

If the leaves are cut off completely, the lawn will be damaged and it will be much more difficult to renew its growth.

In general, the following guidelines apply:

  • mowing at too low a level causes the roots to be disturbed and “spots” to appear;
  • in summer, mow at a higher level to avoid drying out the soil;
  • Mowing wet grass can reduce the effectiveness of the blade, which can lead to grass getting caught on the blade and pulling out;
  • If the grass is extremely tall, the first mowing should be done to the maximum height allowed by the machine, and then the second mowing should only be done after two or three days.

The lawn will look better if you regularly mow the entire lawn at the same height and if you observe the change of two directions.

MAINTENANCE

All nuts, pins, and bolts should be tightened so that the unit is in a safe condition and capable of operation. Regular maintenance is essential to ensure user safety, maintain the machine’s operational capacity and maintain its high efficiency.

If the lawn mower’s fuel tank is filled with gasoline, never store it inside a building where the fumes could come into contact with open flames, sparks, or sources of high temperatures.

Allow the engine to cool down before storing the mower in any enclosed area.

To reduce the risk of fire, make sure that there is no grass, leaves or excessive grease on the lawnmower, especially its engine, muffler, battery and the storage area where spare gasoline is stored.

Check the condition of the deflector and basket regularly; If damaged, replace them. Pour out the fuel in a well-ventilated area with a cool engine. When removing or installing the knife, use thick protective gloves. Each time you sharpen the knife blade, check its balance.

NOTE: Before beginning maintenance or repair, turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug.

Inspect the mower regularly and take care to remove all grass deposits from the underside of the undercarriage. Lubricate the chassis axle and bearings regularly with suitable grease.

Check the condition of the blades regularly, as this has a significant impact on the effectiveness of the mower. Knives should always be sharp and balanced.

Check the tightness of all bolts and nuts at regular intervals. Worn or poorly tightened nuts and bolts can cause serious damage to the engine or its frame.

If the blade collides violently with an obstacle, stop the mower and drive it to an authorized service center. KNIFE: The knife is made of extruded steel. To get the best mowing result, sharpen the knife regularly, after about 25 hours of work. Make sure the knife is properly balanced. To do this, insert an iron axis (2-3 mm in diameter) into the central hole of the knife. If the knife is properly balanced,

The axis will remain in a horizontal position.

If the knife does not hold horizontally, replace it.

When removing the knife, unscrew the screw and check the supporting part of the knife. If the parts are worn or damaged, replace them.

WARNING: Use only original replacement parts. Poor quality replacement parts can cause serious damage to your lawn mower and put your safety at risk.
