Vollrath 15103 InstaSlice Pusher Head Replacement Installation Guide
Product Information
The product is the InstaSliceTM, a slicing equipment that is designed for safe and efficient food preparation. It consists of a blade assembly, a pusher head assembly, guide rods, and thumb screws. The pusher head assembly is responsible for pushing the food items towards the blades for slicing. The equipment also includes a guard to ensure user safety during operation.
Product Use Guide
- Ensure that you have read and understood all the safety precautions mentioned in the user manual.
Pusher Head Replacement:
- Before performing any maintenance or replacement, make sure the equipment is turned off and unplugged.
- Remove the blade assembly by loosening the thumb screws and carefully sliding it out.
- Remove the guard by removing the thumb screws.
- Rotate the pusher head and slide it out through the provided slot. Discard the old pusher head assembly.
- Clean the new pusher head assembly with hot, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry.
- Slide the new pusher head handle first into the slot and turn it to the operating direction.
- Install the guide rods by sliding them through the bumpers and pusher head.
- Secure the guide rods using the nylock nuts.
- Lubricate the sliding parts with mineral oil or Petro Gel. Do not use cooking oil.
- Slide the pusher head back and forth on the guide rods to ensure smooth movement.
- Slid the pusher head away from the slicing area.
- Install the blade assembly and secure it with the thumb screws.
- Slowly slide the pusher head towards the blade assembly, paying close attention to any contact between the pusher head and blades. Pusher Finger Adjustment:
- If the pusher head slides through the blade assembly without making contact with the blades, reinstall the guard and secure it with the thumb screws. The equipment is now ready to use.
- If the pusher head makes contact with the blades, adjustment of the pusher fingers is required.
- Note which pusher finger(s) connect to the blades.
- Hold a thin flat tool on the pusher finger(s) that needs to be changed and tap it with a mallet or similar tool. Be careful not to disturb or contact another finger or scratch the anodized surface of the pusher fingers.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
To ensure safe installation and operation, read and understand the following
statements. Please read carefully.
WARNING
Waming is used to indicate a hazard that could result in serious personal
injury, death, or significant property damage if the warning is given.
WARNING Sharp Blade Hazard.
Blades are sharp and can cause cuts and amputation. To avoid injury from sharp
blades, handle with caution. Only trained personnel should operate equipment
or perform maintenance.
ENGINEERING METHODS
- Slide the pusher head assembly (A) out and away from the blade assembly (D). See Figure 1

- Loosen the thumb screws B and C) and carefully remove the blade assembly (D).
- Remove the thumb screws (C and E) and the guard (F).

- Rotate the pusher head (A) and remove it by sliding it out through the slot (B). See Figure 3. Remove the old pusher head assembly.
- Wash the new pusher head assembly thoroughly with hot, soapy water. Wash thoroughly and allow to air dry completely. Be careful not to bend or damage the pusher fingers.
- Slide the new pusher head (A) first into the slot (B) and rotate so that it is in the operating direction. See Figure 4.

Install the guide rods (D) by sliding through the knobs (C) and pusher head (E) as shown in figure 2.

Secure the guide rods (D) using the nylock nuts (A) removed earlier.

Lubricate sliding parts with mineral oil or Petro Gel. Do not use cooking oil as it will be sticky and may cause permanent damage to the equipment.

Slide the pusher head back and forth on the guide rods.

Slide the pusher head away from the slicing area.

Install the blade assembly (D) securing with thumb screws (B and C). See Figure 1.

Slowly slide the pusher head toward the blade assembly paying close attention to any blade and pusher head contact.
if the pusher head (A) slides through the blade assembly (D) without making contact with the blades: -
Reinstall the protective cover (F) with thumb screws (C and E). Your
Insta Slice™M is now ready to use. See Figure 1. If the pusher head (A) makes contact with the blades it will be necessary to change the position of the pusher fingers by: -
Note which pusher finger(s) (A) connect (C) to the blades (B). See Figure 5. See Figure 1.

- Hold a thin flat tool (B) on the pusher fingers) that requires adjustment. Tap the tool B) with a mallet or similar tool. Use caution not to disrupt or make contact with another finger or to scratch the anodized surface of the pusher fingers. See Figure 6.

- Slowly slide the pusher head toward the blade assembly paying close attention to any blade and pusher head contact. If the pusher head contacts the blades repeat previous steps 1 and 2.
Once the pusher head (A) slides through the blade assembly (D) without contacting the blades:
- Reinstall the guard (F) securing with thumb screws (C and D). Your InstaSlice™ is now ready to use
