FAQ

  • Q: How do I know when to tighten the chain?
  • A: A loose chain causes rapid wear to itself and to the guide bar. Check and adjust the chain tension frequently. Grasp the tooth in the middle of the guide rail and pull it downwards. If a total of 3 teeth are exposed, the chain is correctly tensioned.

  • The description of the saw may vary slightly depending on the model used.
  • In principle, however, all functions are the same.

Disassembling the chain

Remove the battery before any service work.

  1. Unscrew the wing nut and remove the cover.

  2. Remove the guide bar and replace the chain. Align the inner links of the chain into the groove of the guide plate.

  3. Place the chain around the sprocket and make sure the plate is straight and the chain is not slanted.
Note: the direction of the cutting teeth should be the same as the picture.

  4. Replace the side cover, tighten the wing nut, and tighten the chain. Tightening the chain is described in the chapter “Tightening the chain”

  5. Attach the Li-Ion battery to the front of the saw handle and you can use the device again.

Chain assembly

Remove the battery before any service work.

  1. Loosen the lock nut and remove the side cover

  2. Then remove the guide rail

  3. First put the chain on the sprocket and then put the chain on the guide bar
    Notes
    • The chain teeth must point in the correct direction!
    • The saw is equipped with a function for adjusting the chain tension. When installing the guide bar, the adjusting element must be clamped in the positioning hole at the end of the guide bar!

  4. Replace the side cover and tighten the lock nut

Tightening the chain
A new chain pulls out very quickly at the beginning of use. Therefore, check and adjust the chain tension frequently. A loose chain causes rapid wear to itself and to the guide bar.

Grasp the tooth in the middle of the guide rail and pull it downwards. If a total of 3 teeth are exposed, the chain is correctly tensioned. Depending on the situation, either tighten or loosen the chain.

  1. Enable the lock nut
  2. Use a screwdriver to tighten the chain (turning to the right) or loosen the chain (turning to the left).
  3. Tighten the lock nut

Charging

  1. Insert the battery into the charger
  2. Plug the charger into the power supply using the power cord provided
  3. Charging is indicated by a red LED
  4. Green LED indicates full charge
  • The charger is not equipped with overcharge protection. Therefore, do not leave the battery charging for an unnecessarily long time to avoid reducing its lifetime. The average charging time is about 2 hours.
  • Charge the battery every three months when not in use.

Usage
Wear appropriate clothing, work gloves, and eye protection when using this equipment. Before each use, make sure the equipment is working properly by running it briefly “on empty”. Do not use for cutting trees larger than 150 mm in diameter.

  • When the saw is put into operation, make sure to keep your hands at least 15 cm away from the cutting area.
  • Do not overload the saw with long, continuous cuts, try to break up more demanding cuts into several sections to allow the saw to cool down naturally.
  • There is a risk of damage to the motor if overloaded for long periods.
  • Do not use this saw to cut large branches or it may jam or damage the motor.
  • Do not use the saw in the rain.
  • Only fill the oil tank with oil intended for chain lubrication.
  • The manual oil pump works at the press of a finger. Squeeze it slowly several times until an oil coating appears on the chain.
  • Use the hand oil pump to lubricate the chain depending on the intensity of cutting so that the chain is never dry, but at the same time, the amount of oil does not hinder the work. If there is a large amount of oil on the chain, dust, and dirt bind to it, which makes the work worse and increases wear.
  • Remove the battery when the saw is not in use.
  • If the performance of the saw decreases, check the battery charge or recharge it and clean the saw.
  • 4 Ah (Solight RN-B4) and 6 Ah (Solight RN-B6) batteries can be purchased for the saw.
  • For faster charging, you can purchase the Solight RN-RNB fast charger, which cuts charging time by about half.
  • In the event of damage, a replacement chain can be purchased with Solight RNP150-R, and a replacement guide bar with Solight RNP150-L.

Cleaning and maintenance

  • Remove the battery before performing any service or maintenance.
  • Wear gloves when handling the chain.
  • Clean the chain after each use.
  • After approximately 10 hours of use, disassemble the cover and clean the saw of dust and dirt.
  • Store in a dry and clean environment at room temperature.
  • In case of damage to non-replaceable parts (motor, switch, plastic parts) contact the service center of Solight Holding s.r.o.
  • More complex repairs may only be carried out by specialists at the Solight Holding s.r.o. service centre
