Safety instructions
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS – READ CAREFULLY AND KEEP FOR FUTURE REFERENCE!
- Keep the appliance and its accessories out of the reach of children.
- This appliance may be used by children over the age of 8 and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or by those with limited experience and/or knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and have understood the associated risks.
- Children must not be allowed to play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance may not be carried out by children unless they are supervised.
- Children between the ages of 3 and 8 are allowed to load and unload refrigerating appliances.
- Children younger than 8 must be kept away from the power cord.

There is a risk of electric shock/short circuit from live parts.
- Connect the mains plug only to earthed power outlets that are easy to reach and have been properly installed, close to the place where you have set up the appliance. Always keep the socket free of obstructions so that the mains plug can be pulled out easily should a hazard occur.
- Before using the appliance, check that the voltage information on the type plate matches the local supply voltage.
- When you unplug the mains plug from the socket, always hold the plug itself, not the cord.
- WARNING! Ensure that the power cord does not create a trip hazard. Do not use an extension cord.
- WARNING! Do not allow the power cord to become jammed or damaged during installation.
- WARNING! Do not connect portable multiple sockets or power supplies to the back of the appliance.
- Fully unwind the cord during use.
- Unplug the appliance from the socket:
- when you are cleaning the appliance
- if the appliance is damp
- if you are no longer using the appliance
- when the appliance is left unattended
- during thunderstorms
- Do not allow the power cord to come into contact with hot objects or surfaces (e.g. cooker hob).
- Do not use it if the appliance or the power cord is visibly damaged or if the appliance has been dropped. Check the appliance and the power cord for damage before using the appliance for the first time and after each use.
- Contact our customer service team without delay if the appliance has been damaged during transport.
- Do not, under any circumstances, make any unauthorized modifications to the appliance or try to open a component and/or repair it yourself.
- If the power cord of this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service team, or another suitably qualified person. This is necessary to avoid hazards.
- Do not operate the appliance with an external timer or a separate remote control system.
- The appliance must not be submerged in water or other liquids held under running water nor used in damp environments because this may result in an electric shock.
- Keep the appliance, the vents, and the power cord away from wash basins, sinks, or the like.
- Do not place any objects filled with liquid (e.g. vases or drinks) on or near the appliance or the power adapter.
- Never touch the appliance or power cord with damp hands.
- Use the appliance indoors only.

Improper handling can result in damage to your appliance and your health.
Please follow the safety advice below closely:
- WARNING! Do not store any explosive materials, such as aerosol containers containing flammable propellant gas, in or near the appliance.
- WARNING! Make sure that the vents in the housing, around the appliance, and in the installation niche are not blocked.
- Never place the appliance on the edge of a table – it could tip over and fall.
- Place the appliance on a stable, level surface.
- Do not touch the evaporator because this can cause burns.
- Do not turn the appliance on and off too often because this can damage the compressor.
- Never cover the vents and leave enough room for ventilation of at least 15 cm. Set up the appliance at a sufficient distance from other appliances and the wall.
- Never use the appliance with an empty container.
- Protect the appliance from direct sunlight or other strong sources of heat (e.g. oven, grill).
- Do not use the appliance outdoors.
- Do not expose the appliance to extreme conditions. Avoid:
- high humidity or wet conditions
- extremely high or low temperatures
- direct sunlight
- naked flames
DANGER!
FIRE HAZARD! Flammable substances!
The appliance’s refrigeration system contains the refrigerant isobutane
(R600a). It is a natural gas that is very environmentally friendly, but it is
combustible.
- Avoid naked flames and ignition sources.
WARNING!
Risk of injury!
There is a risk of injury if the refrigerant isobutane (R600a) leaks.
- WARNING! Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
- Have the appliance repaired by a qualified technician before using it again?
- If the refrigeration system has been damaged, ventilate the room.
- If refrigerant comes into contact with the skin or eyes, this can lead to injuries. Immediately rinse the eyes with plain water and consult a doctor.
- Set up the appliance in a dry and ventilated room. The room should be around 4 m² to enable sufficient ventilation if the cooling system becomes damaged.
- Tampering with the refrigerant circuit is prohibited and voids the warranty.
- Where possible, transport the appliance upright. Avoid tilting the appliance by more than 45° during transport.
- Before using the ice cube maker for the first time, wait 2 hours after you have set it up. Leave the water tank cover open for at least 2 hours.
Health and hygiene
If you use the ice cubes for drinks or food preparation, the water from the
ice cube maker will get into your food and drink.
- WARNING! Only use clean drinking water. Use cold water and do not fill above the MAX mark.
- Pay attention to the water quality and follow the instructions for care and cleaning, in particular the instructions in the user manual for when the appliance will not be used for a longer period.
- Only use the ice cube basket for storing ice cubes.
- If you keep the water tank cover open for a longer time or remove the ice cube basket for a longer time, this can lead to a considerable increase in temperature in the compartments of the appliance.

parts of plastic wrap.
- Keep all packaging materials used (bags, pieces of polystyrene, etc.) out of the reach of children.

Preparing the ice cube maker
You will find information on cleaning in the user manual.
- Check the ice cube maker for transport damage.
- Place the ice cube maker onto a level, non-slip, and heat-resistant surface.
- Before using the ice cube maker for the first time, wait 2 hours after you have set it up. Leave the water tank cover open for at least 2 hours.
- Before using the appliance for the first time, clean the accessories (ice cube basket, ice scoop) and the appliance with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Allow everything to dry thoroughly.
- Carry out the cleaning function (‘Cleaning the ice cube maker’ in the user manual).
- For hygiene reasons, do not use the ice cubes from the first preparation.
The appliance is now ready for use.
The appliance is driven by an electric motor. This can lead to a slight smell
during the initial operation. This smell is normal and is not a sign of a
malfunctioning appliance. Ensure that there is adequate ventilation.
Using the ice cube maker
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
The use of additives such as syrup or colorants can damage the water sensor
and the pump.
- Only use clean drinking water with no additives.
- Remove the ice cube basket from the appliance.
- Fill the drinking water tank up to the MAX mark. Do not fill above the mark.
- Reinsert the ice cube basket.
- Close the ice container flap.
- Connect the appliance to a properly installed socket.
- Press the button to start the ice cube production.
The ice cube machine starts to make ice cubes again.
You can lift out the ice cube basket and remove ice at any time during ice
production.
