Volume and Driver Awareness
Use of sound components can impair your ability to hear necessary traffic sounds and may constitute a hazard while driving your automobile.
ETON accepts no liability for hearing loss, bodily injury or property damage as a result of use or misuse of this product.

Do not use your automobile until all components of the loudspeaker system have been secured to the interior framework. Failure to do so may turn a component into a dangerous, flying projectile during a sudden stop or accident.
We recommend disconnecting the battery. Please ask your car dealer if disconnecting the battery is possible without any problem.

Installation

Preparation
In the first step, you should get an impression of the installation situation in your vehicle, check the possibility of fitting the ETON UG FIAT FD7C, does it fit in your vehicle? Do you have the right vehicle model with the right equipment? Then check the contents of the packaging for completeness and for damage that may have occurred during transportation or similar. If you have any warranty claims or complaints, please contact the ETON dealer from whom you purchased the product.

ATTENTION: Please note that a generated audio signal is required to connect a retrofit center speaker for operation! This audio signal usually consists of a 50:50 mixed left/right signal. This sum signal can be generated using a DSP or a multi-channel amplifier. We recommend using our UG FIAT FDCW plug-and-play cable set in combination with an ETON MICRO 250.4 / PA 4 power amplifier.

This UG FIAT FD7C center speaker kit has been designed for easy plug-and-play installation. The form-fitting console with integrated 80 mm (3″) full-range speaker fits perfectly into the dashboard of the Fiat Ducato III, Citroën Jumper II, Peugeot Boxer II, Opel Mo-vano C and Dodge Ram ProMaster. It replaces the existing clipboard or storage compartment and has been elaborately designed with a similar surface structure and design language as well as the original mounting points.
First remove the “+” terminal(s) of your bat-tery(ies) to prevent damage to the electrical system.
Then remove the existing radio / head unit from your dashboard (you may need special unlocking tools for this, which are not included in the scope of delivery. Find out from your vehicle manufacturer or research the removal of the head unit on the Internet).

Once your head unit / radio has been successfully removed from the dashboard and all connections have been disconnected, you can now continue with the wiring of our UG FIAT FDCW Plug & Play wiring harness or lay the signal connections and audio line for the UG FIAT FD7C center speaker yourself. The prefabricated ETON UG FIAT FDCW cable kit comes with all the necessary connectors and can be easily laid behind the dashboard. You can find a detailed connection diagram online on our website.
Now use a suitable Torx screwdriver (TX20) to remove the two screws located in the upper area of the radio slot.

The cover/clipboard can then be unhooked at the top. The original tray is hooked in at the rear using two hooks. Remove the cover/clipboard.

Then insert the new ETON UG FIAT FD7C console into your dashboard: To do this, first connect the connection cables to the loudspeaker. These are already pre- installed on the UG FIAT FDCW cable kit, protected against polarity reversal; you only need to plug the cables correctly into the speaker connection terminals. Pay attention to the right polarity (+ = red / – = black).

Then hang the console in the rear area with the retaining lugs. Make sure that these are properly retracted.

Now swivel the console downwards. It should be possible to insert it without any effort. Make sure that the two screw connection points with sheet metal clamping nuts are perfectly aligned behind the original screw points. Then screw the bracket firmly together.

Then connect all the connectors of your head unit and push it back into the radio slot. Pay attention to the routing of the cables while inserting the radio / head unit. Screw or clip the radio back in properly.
Tip: If you have installed or want to install an additional hands-free microphone, a piece can be removed through a predefined point on the console using a round file or suitable tool and the microphone cable can be fed through.

From time to time it is recommended to clean the anti-slip pad, which can be easily removed and rinsed under running water. Only use simple, non-corrosive cleaning agents to clean the pad.
