Safety
WARNING: To avoid injury, read all safety information below before using
the Manhattan T4.
Please heed all warnings and keep these instructions. Failure to follow these
safety instructions could result in fire, electric shock or other injury or
damage to the T4 or other property.
Device Information
Information such as the model number, serial number and electrical rating are located on the bottom of the Manhattan T4.
Power
Only use the power adapter included with your Manhattan T4, as specified in
Section 7, “Hardware Specifications” (page 12). First, connect the 12V DC plug
to the T4, then connect the UK mains plug to an electrical outlet with a 100V
– 240V AC, 50/60Hz supply.
The mains plug is used as the disconnection device. Make sure it is easily
accessible to quickly disconnect the T4 from the electricity supply when
needed. The T4 has no on/off switch. To disconnect the T4 from power, switch
off the mains socket it is connected to, and then unplug the mains plug. When
connecting or disconnecting the mains plug, always hold it by its sides and
keep fingers away from the metal part of the plug.
Cables
Position all cables to avoid being walked on, crushed or damaged by things
placed on or against them.
Pay particular attention to the power cable where it connects to the Manhattan
T4 and comes out of the power adapter. Always disconnect the T4 as described
in the “Power” section before connecting or disconnecting cables from it.
Temperature & Moisture
The Manhattan T4 is designed for use in ambient temperatures between 0° and
40° C (32° and 104° F) and humidity levels of 20% to 80% RH (non-condensing).
It should be stored at temperatures between -20° and 45° C (-4° and 113° F).
The case may become warm during operation as it dissipates internal heat,
which is normal.
Do not expose the T4 to extreme temperature changes or high humidity, as this
can cause condensation. Do not allow the device to get wet, and protect it
from dripping or splashing liquids.
Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on or near the T4. If
liquid or a foreign object enters the unit, disconnect it immediately as
described in the “Power” section and contact Manhattan customer support.
Location & Ventilation
The Manhattan T4 is an indoor product; do not use it outdoors. Ensure at least 10cm of clearance between the T4 and any appliances susceptible to electromagnetic interference, such as TVs or consoles. Slots and openings in the T4’s cover are for ventilation. Ensure the ventilation is not impeded by covering the ventilation opening with items such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc. Do not stack other electronic equipment on top of the T4. Do not stand the T4 on soft furnishings or carpets. Failure to follow these instructions could lead to the T4 overheating.
WARNING: Do not insert foreign objects into the T4 through its air vents. You run the risk of electric shock, and damage caused is not covered by the limited warranty.
Cleaning
Before cleaning the Manhattan T4, disconnect it as described in the “Power” section and disconnect all cables. Use only a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Micro fibre cloths are recommended. Don’t use liquids, window cleaners, household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, ammonia or abrasives.
Heat, Flames & Lighting
WARNING: Do not place the Manhattan T4 near to naked flames or sources of intense heat, such as an electric fire. Do not place naked flame sources, such as lighted candles on the T4. If there is a storm or lightning, unplug the T4.
Batteries
The Manhattan T4 remote control takes two AAA batteries. Always replace dead
batteries with two brand-new batteries from the same manufacturer. Do not mix
old and new batteries or different battery types (e.g. alkaline and manganese
batteries). Never use damaged batteries. Do not expose batteries to excessive
heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
Remove batteries from the remote control when not using for a prolonged period
of time to prevent battery leakage, corrosion and explosion.
Servicing
WARNING: Do not attempt to open the Manhattan T4 or disassemble it. You
run the risk of electric shock, and damage caused by disassembly is not
covered by the limited warranty. No user-serviceable parts are inside.
Make sure that anyone who services your T4 is qualified to do so. Make sure
the person carrying out the repair uses parts which are specified by us or
which have the same specifications as the original part. Other parts may cause
a fire, electric shock or other dangers.
If the power adapter breaks or becomes damaged, do not use it. Do not cut or
open the power adapter, as this will expose you to dangerous high voltages
present inside. The power adapter is non serviceable and does not have any
replaceable parts inside. If the power adapter is damaged, it must be replaced
by the manufacturer, its service agent, or suitably qualified persons in order
to avoid a hazard.
Hazards To Children
WARNING: The packaging of this product may cause suffocation. Some of the parts included with the Manhattan T4 are small and may present a choking hazard to young children. Keep these parts out of the reach of young children.
WARNING: Do not place or leave the Manhattan T4 or its accessories within reach of young children or on an unstable surface:
- Pulling on the cables connected to the T4 can lead to it falling.
- Strangulation hazard – the cables connected to the T4 can coil around their neck.
Environmental

When this product reaches its end of life, take it to a collection point designated by local authorities. The separate collection and recycling of your product and/or its batteries at the time of disposal will help conserve natural resources and ensure that it is recycled in a manner that protects human health and the environment.
Terms and Conditions
In order to use this product, including component parts, the remote and power
adapter (collectively the “Hardware”), you will need to accept these Terms and
Conditions, which constitute an agreement between you and the manufacturer of
this product, Manhattan TV Limited (“Manhattan”, “we” and “us”). If you do not
wish to accept these Terms and Conditions please disconnect the Hardware and,
if you are entitled to do so in accordance with the applicable returns policy,
return it to the retailer from which you purchased the Hardware.
Manhattan reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions from time-
to-time, or to replace these Terms and Conditions with new Terms and
Conditions when Manhattan considers it necessary to do so (for example to
reflect any changes to the services or content accessed through the Hardware
provided by third parties (the “Connected Services”) and/or any other changes
that are necessary to meet legal or regulatory requirements). These Terms and
Conditions were last updated on 17/11/23.
Your Responsibilities
By accepting these Terms and Conditions you accept full responsibility for any
use of the Hardware and/or Connected Services received through the Hardware.
The Hardware may only be used for private, non-commercial use. You may not
(and may not permit any person to):
- use the Connected Services or any content for public or commercial use, for example, by charging others for accessing them;
- modify, copy, reproduce, rebroadcast, or retransmit in any way any of the content or Connected Services (except as permitted by law);
- access or use the Connected Services or content for any unlawful purpose;
Where required, you are responsible for obtaining and maintaining a valid
television licence.
Some Connected Services and content use digital rights management security
features and/or other content-protection measures. These features and measures
enable content providers to protect their content when they make it available
to you. You must not remove or circumvent or try to remove or circumvent these
features or measures.
Some content may not be suitable and/or available for everyone. This might
include programmes that are not appropriate for children, or services for
which payments are required. You are responsible for setting up and
maintaining parental controls or any other controls that are available, and
Manhattan will not be responsible for any harm, loss or damage you suffer or
any other user of your hardware suffers as a result of your failure to manage
your parental control settings or if you allow or enable content to be viewed
by members of your household for whom such content is not appropriate.
It is your responsibility to accept any software updates to the Hardware and
to the Connected Services offered by the television/internet service provider
or otherwise. Such updates are necessary from time to time to ensure that the
Hardware and Connected Services continue to function properly.
Automatic software updates take place overnight and it is your responsibility
to ensure that these updates are not blocked or refused and that, while not in
use, the electricity supplied to your Hardware is not turned off and that it
is in standby or rest mode.
You must comply with these Terms and Conditions. If you do not comply with
these Terms and Conditions, Manhattan will not be liable for any damages or
losses whatsoever resulting from your failure to comply.
Internet and television services
Please note that content or Connected Services broadcast or made available in
or from the United Kingdom may not be available in other territories.
Manhattan manufactures the Hardware but does not provide the content or
Connected Services accessed through the Hardware. Since Manhattan has no
control over third party services or content (such as Freest and Freeview and
any services or content made available by them or other third parties, for
example television “catch up” services such as BBC iPlayer or “apps” such as
YouTube), including any changes to the software/programming of such services,
Manhattan cannot guarantee that the Hardware will continue to be compatible
with all of the Connected Services, or that the services themselves will
continue to be provided or supported.
The terms and pricing (if any) of any digital content accessed through the
Hardware are not part of these Terms and Conditions. If you deal with any
third parties in respect of Connected Services (for example, by buying or
renting goods or services from them or subscribing to or accessing third party
services), we will not be involved in such dealings. Such third parties may
require you to accept additional terms and conditions or require payment for
their services. You enter into such arrangements at your own cost and risk and
Manhattan will not be liable in any way for any loss, costs or damage arising
from any dealings with such third parties. You should abide by any terms and
conditions required by such third parties for access to content provided by
such third parties.
In order to use certain elements of the Connected Services you will need a
broadband internet connection of a speed no lower than the speed recommended
in the User Guide, and/or by the relevant content provider (whichever is the
higher).
Manhattan cannot guarantee specific levels of performance for services which
require internet, terrestrial, satellite or other television access, and
accepts no liability for malfunction of the Hardware which is due to a slow or
faulty internet connection (whether via Wi-Fi or by Ethernet cable), aerial or
satellite reception.
Occasionally, services may be interrupted, or your use may be suspended or
restricted where reasonably necessary for technical, operational, security,
legal or regulatory reasons. If this happens, no liability is accepted by
Manhattan or any third party for any harm suffered as a result of such
interruption, suspension or restriction. No representation is made to you
about the availability of the Connected Services. The Connected Services which
are accessed through the Hardware are provided by third parties on an ‘as is’
basis and any warranty, condition, or other term is excluded in relation to
those Connected Services to the extent permitted in law.
You are responsible for maintaining any equipment which must be connected to the Hardware to enable you to access the Connected Services (for example your television, projector, display monitor or computer). Manhattan is not responsible if you are not able to use the Hardware because of a malfunction of equipment not manufactured by Manhattan.

together with proof of purchase and all requested accessories, in either the
original packaging or packaging affording an equal degree of protection, to
the authorised Manhattan facility in the United Kingdom identified by the CSR.
Failure to return any of the requested accessories could result in a delay
