SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

- The appliance needs to dissipate its heat in order to prevent fi re. Therefore it is vital to make sure that the appliance has suffi cient clearance on all sides and cannot come into contact with fl ammable materials. The appliance may not be covered up.
- Do not use the appliance near explosives or fl ammable materials.
- Do not use a metal scouring pad to clean the appliance. Fragments of metal could come loose and touch the appliance’s electrical parts causing it to short circuit.
- Always switch the appliance off if: it malfunctions while you are using it, before you start maintenance, if you fi t or remove accessories and if you unplug the appliance.
- Only use an extension cord that is in good condition.
- Never switch the appliance off by pulling the cable.
- Always engage a recognised, trained service engineer if the appliance or the cable is damaged, malfunctions
- have occurred and/or the appliance requires repairs.
- Carrying out your own or having inexpert repairs carried out can cause considerable danger for the user.

USE AND OPERATION
Before first Use
Clean the baking plate, stone and trays before using the appliance for the
first time (see Cleaning and Care). The appliance may emit a little smoke and
a characteristic smell when you switch it on for the first time. This is
normal, and will soon stop. Make sure the appliance has sufficient
ventilation. Keep house birds away from the appliance when it is in use; fumes
released from the non-stick coating when the grill plate is hot can cause
stress to birds.
Preheating
- Put the appliance on a level and heat-resistant surface.
- Put the plug into the wall socket.
- Turn on the unit by “On/Off” switch for cooking.
- Wait a few minutes before the set temperature is reached. The appliance is now ready for use.
Baking
- Allow the appliance to preheat (see Preheating).
- Grease the baking plate with a little oil. The stone doesn’t need any oil or butter.
- Place the food you wish to grill on the baking plate and stone. Spread some salt across the stone before placing your meat or fish on it.
- Grill the food until it is done. Turn the food over occasionally whilst it is being grilled to ensure that both sides are evenly cooked.
- Remove the food from the baking plate and stone and place on a plate.
Recletting
- Leave the baking plate on the base when racletting and grilling food, even if you are not grilling.
- Allow the appliance to preheat (see Preheating).
- Fill a tray with, for example, pieces of cheese, meat, fish or vegetables.
- Put the filled tray on the bottom plate under the baking plate.
- Remove the tray from the appliance once the food is done, or the cheese has melted.
CLEANING AND CARE
- Before cleaning the appliance, always make sure that the plug has been removed from the supply socket. Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.
- The grill pan and the mini pans can be washed in hot soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Never use hard or sharp objects on the non-stick baking surface. The surface can be damaged easily by scratching.
- You can clean the exterior with a damp cloth and dry afterwards. Never immerse the appliance in water. Do not use abrasive cleaners, these can cause damage to the material.
