Industrial Wall Fan with Remote Control

Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance, and instruct other persons using it, too, if necessary. Keep the manual handy for future use.
If when reading this instructions manual certain parts should be difficult to understand, or if there is any confusion, contact the company indicated on the last page before using the product.

GENERAL NOTICES

  • This product is intended for home use only, to ventilate large environments (Industrial, Commercial, etc): do not use it for any other purpose. Any other use is to be considered inappropriate and therefore dangerous. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by inappropriate, improper or irresponsible use and/or for repairs made to the product by unauthorised personnel.

  • Examples of devices for domestic use are appliances typically used in the home, which can be used for typical domestic tasks even by non-experts:
    – in shops, offices and other such places of work;
    – in agricultural businesses or similar;
    – by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments
    – bed and breakfast type environments

  • Do not insert any tool, or your fingers, into the grille protecting the blades.

  • Do not use the device at room temperatures above 40°C.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or if they have been given instructions concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and  ser maintenance must not be performed by children without
    supervision.

  • The appliance must be kept out of children’s reach.

  • Warning: when using electrical appliances, the basic safety precautions must always be observed to avoid risks of fire, electric shocks and physical injury.

  • Do not use the appliance if it is not operating correctly or seems damaged; if in doubt, contact professionally qualified personnel.

  • Make sure that the fan is working correctly: if not, turn the appliance off and have it checked by professionally qualified personnel.

  • Do not move the appliance when it is running.

  • If the appliance is not in use, unplug it from the plug point.

  • Always unplug the appliance before you assemble, disassemble or clean the appliance.

  • Do not leave the appliance exposed to the weather (sun, rain, etc.).

  • Do not touch the appliance with wet hands or feet.

  • If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid risks.

  • If the appliance breaks or there is a malfunction, switch off the appliance and have it checked by qualified personnel; repairs carried out by unauthorised personnel may be dangerous and nullify the guarantee.

  • Ensure that the fan is switched off from the supply mains before removing the guard.

INSTALLATION

  • After removing the packing materials, check the integrity of the appliance; if you are unsure, do not use it and ask for qualified professional help. The packing materials (plastic bags, polystyrene, nails, etc.) must be kept out the reach of children because they are potential sources of danger. All packaging elements must be disposed of according to their raw material (see the symbol stamped on each one) and according to the provisions of their municipality. The secondary elements of the packaging with low weight (es: packing tape) are unmarked as are its small size packing materials, the protective film of surfaces:
    therefore you have to follow the procedures for the disposal in force in your municipality.
    Note: any stickers or advertising material applied to the grille must be removed before using the appliance.

  • Before connecting the appliance, check that the voltage shown on the data plate matches that of your electricity, and that the electric plug is grounded. In the event of incompatibility between the plug point and the plug of the appliance, have the plug replaced with suitable one by professionally qualified personnel, who will make sure that the section of the wires of the outlet is suitable for the power drawn by the appliance. In general, the use of adapters or extension cords is not recommended; if their use is necessary, they must conform to existing safety standards and their current capacity (amperes) must not be less than the maximum of the appliance.

  • Before each use, check that the equipment is in good condition, that the power cord is not damaged: if in doubt consult a qualified professional.

  • Check that the plug is accessible even after installing the fan.

  • The power socket must be easy to reach so the plug can be removed quickly in case of emergency.

  • Keep the appliance away from:
    – heat sources (e.g. open flame, gas stove, etc.)
    – liquid receptacles (e.g. sinks, etc.) to avoid water splashing onto the appliance or it falling in (minimum distance of 2 meters)
    – fabrics (curtains, etc.) or floating materials that could obstruct the air intake grille; make sure that the front is free of floating materials (dust, etc.).

  • The appliance must not be used in dusty environments or in the presence of floating materials or used in a room where there is a fire risk.

ASSEMBLY

Attention : the fan can be used only when completely and correctly assembled, that is complete with protection grids (rear and front). If in doubt, have the appliance checked or assembled by a qualified professional person.
Attention : always unplug the appliance before you assemble the appliance.
Wall installation

  • The appliance must only be used if secured to a wall: the wall must be flat, smooth, very stable (as the appliance could tip over) and resistant.
  • To install the appliance, proceed as follows and refer to the figures:
    – check that the wall must be made of masonry and/ or of resistant material (not of wood or synthetic material)
    – ensure that the wall/structure to which the fan will be fixed can support a weight of 15kg
    – the wall fan must be installed at least 2 m above the floor, and that there is at least 1m clearance to the side of the fan
    – the Mounting Bracket must be fixed horizontally (so that the long side must be at the top and the two motor support rings must be vertical), in perfect adherence to the surface – before drilling into the ceiling, make sure that you do will damage any internal ductwork – using the Mounting Bracket (1) as a guide, mark the points where will be drilled the 4 holes
    – remove the Mounting Bracket, drill the 4 holes (diam, 8mm), and insert 4 expansion plugs:
    use the nuts and insert the flat and elastic washers for fixing. The nuts must be tightened fully and the plate securely fastened to prevent the fan from oscillating
    – insert the support (2) inside the two rings of the bracket (unscrew the screws if previously screwed), so that the two holes (support and lower ring) are coaxial and insert the appropriate screw (M8x45) (3A) , then insert the other screw (M8x16) (3B). The screws must be tightened fully.

Ventilator

  1. Remove the engine support/motor screw (4) and the clutch screw (tilt up/down) (5). Position the motor body (6) on the support (2), insert the support screw (4) inside its seat, the head of the screw (must be in the part with the writing: inside the recess of the support, place the washer and screw the nut properly. Insert the clutch screw (5) to lock the motor body in the desired position.
  2. Fix the control box (14) to the support using the screw supplied (M6x55).
  3. Unscrew the 4 screws (7) on the motor body, insert the rear grille (8) on the motor crankcase (verify that the hole (9) of the fixing screw is in the lower part) and ensure its fixing with the 4 screws in equipment.
  4. Insert the fan (10) on the motor shaft and block with the appropriate screw (11) screwing it tightly.
  5. Couple the front grille (12) to the rear one, locking them with the sealing hooks and ensuring fastening with the screw and nut (13), the screw must be in the lower part. At the end of the work, check that the protection grilles are firmly coupled and fixed to the motor.
  6. Check that the fan is firmly fixed to the wall before proceeding with any ignition operations.

USE
Before each use, verify that the unit is in good condition, the electric cord is not damaged, if the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a competent qualified electrician or a person with similar qualifications, in order to avoid any risk.
The fan’s functions can be controlled either with the keypad located on the control panel or with the remote control. The remote control must be pointed at the control panel; for the first use open the lid and insert the batteries (type AAA), not included.
Do not allow children to replace batteries.
WARNING: Do Not Ingest Battery. Chemical Burn Hazard.
If the cell battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death. Keep new and used batteries away from children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children. If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention. The batteries contain materials, which are hazardous to the environment; they must be removed from the appliance before it is scrapped and that they are disposed of safely.
Do not mix new and used batteries or batteries of different types.
Should the remote control not be used for long periods remove the batteries.
Point the remote control at the fan (max. distance 6 metres, and there should be no obstructions in between).
The functions and adjustments are as follows:

  • Stand-by-ON button of the remote control and the Speed/Ok button of the control panel to turn the fan on, press again the button of the remote control or the control panel to turn it off in standby mode
  • Ventilation: the three speeds are selected by pressing the Speed button of the remote control or the Speed/ok of the control panel: the symbol corresponding to the selected speed will light up: (L= min; M= med; H= max).
  • Mode: the three modes are selected by pressing the “MODE” button:
  1. Normal: constant ventilation, the symbol will light up “NOR”.
  2. Silent: constant and silent ventilation, the symbol will light up (SLP). This mode reduces ventilation speed from one speed to the lower speed every half hour. The cycles are:
  3. Natural: the symbol will light up (RHY): speeds are random and cyclic (see images with specified time and speed) during each cycle:

– Timer: this function allows setting the operating time and the fan will automatically stop at the end. To set the operating time, repeatedly press the “TIMER” key: every time the key is pressed, the time set is changed and the indicator light on the control panel lights corresponding to the time selected (0.5 hour, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, ecc….): the maximum time is 7,5 hours. To deactivate the timer, press the button until the timer turns off.
– Horizontal oscillation (right-left): press the Swing button of the remote control or the Osc button of the control panel to activate the function. To eliminate this motion, press again the the button.
– Vertical inclination (high-low): unscrew the relevant clutch screw (5) it is regulated by gripping the motor body and orienting it in the direction desired; throught the screw to lock the body in the desired position.

To operate the fan, plug it into a socket: press the “On/Off” button of the remote control or the Speed/Ok button of the control panel to activate the fan and select the desired functions.
To deactivate the unit, press the “On/Off” button of the remote control or the Speed/Ok button of the control panel. To turn off the appliance, unplug it from the socket.
When not in use for long periods, the plug must always be removed from the socket.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Attention : before normal cleaning, remove the plug from the socket.

  • Clean the body with soft, slightly damp, cloth; do not use abrasive or corrosive products.
  • Do not immerse any part of the fan in water or other liquid: if this should happen, do not put your hand in the liquid, but first remove the plug from the socket. Carefully dry the appliance and make sure that all the electrical parts are dry: in the case of doubt, ask for professionally qualified help.
  • It is essential that the motor’s air holes be kept from dust and lint.
  • If the fan will not be used for long periods, it must be protected from dust and humidity; we recommend storing it in its original packaging.
  • Should you decide not to use the appliance any more, we recommend making it inoperative by cutting the power cord (after making sure you have disconnected the plug from the socket) and make dangerous parts harmless if children are allowed to play with them (such as the blade).

BATTERY – Remove the battery from the remote control before its disposal. Do not dispose the battery with domestic waste. The battery must be disposed of in the appropriate containers or in the specific collecting centre. Suitable segregated collection helps prevent damage to the environment and to human health.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT IN ACCORDANCE WITH EC DIRECTIVE 2011/65/EC.
At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of as urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority differentiated waste collection centre or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of a household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences for the environment and health deriving from inappropriate disposal and enables the constituent materials to be recovered to obtain significant savings in energy and resources. As a reminder of the need to dispose of household appliances separately, the product is marked with a crossed-out wheeled dustbin.

General guarantee terms

Guarantee coverage starts from the moment of purchase of the appliance as indicated by a fiscally mandatory delivery document (bill or tax receipt or shipping document). Guarantee coverage lasts 24 months and terminates after the prescribed term. Guarantee coverage covers all replacements or repairs that become necessary due to defects in material or manufacture. Guarantee coverage does not cover all those parts which become defective due to failure to comply with installation, operating or maintenance instructions, shipping damage, operating neglect or negligence, improper use or any circumstances which are not due to manufacturing defects of the appliance. Guarantee coverage is also excluded for replacement or repair of all parts subject to fair wear and tear or to expiry, as well as removable parts, light bulbs, glass components, ceramic parts, external tubes, batteries and disposable (throw-away) accessories. Replacements or repairs that come under guarantee coverage are performed free of charge for goods delivered free the Manufacturer’s factory or to one of our Technical Service Centres. Guarantee coverage is not granted if repairs are performed by personnel not belonging to authorized Technical Service Centres or when non-genuine spare parts are used.
