Sharp SPC079 Digital Alarm Clock User Manual

Thank you for your purchase of this quality clock. The utmost care has gone into the design and manufacture of your clock. Please read these instructions and store them in a safe place for future reference.

Getting Started

  • Open the battery compartment and slide the DST Switch ON.
  • Slide the Time Zone Switch to your Time Zone: PST, MST, CST, EST
  • Plug into an approved electric outlet (120V AC/60Hz)
  • The unit will then automatically display the correct time.
  • Install two AA batteries (not included) to power the Battery Backup function. In the event of a power outage the Battery Backup will take effect and the alarm will continue to work; the time will not display until the power returns.

Manually Change The Time/Year/Month/Day/DST/Time Zone

  • To set the clock press and hold the Set Button for 2 seconds to enter Setting Mode.
  • The Setting Mode flow is: Hour > Minute > Year > Month > Day
  • By pressing the + or – Buttons you can adjust the value for the Time & Date.
  • Press the Set Button after each desired setting will confirm and jump to the next setting within the above setting flow.
  • After you have confirmed all of the above press the Set Button once more to save and ext Setting Mode or let it exit automatically 10 seconds later without pressing any button.

Setting The Alarm

  • Press Alarm Set Button one time to enter alarm setting mode, Alarm Indicator (bell icon) will start blinking.
  • Press and hold the Alarm Set Button for 2 seconds, HOUR digital will blink
  • Pressing the + or – Buttons to adjust the HOUR, press the Alarm Set Button to confirm, MINUTE digits will blink.
  • Pressing the + or – Buttons to adjust the MINUTES, press the Alarm Set Button to save and exit or let it exit automatically 10 seconds later without pressing any button.

Alarm & Snooze Function

  • Set Alarm as described in above section.
  • To activate the alarm, slide the Alarm ON/OFF switch to ON.
  • When the alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE Button to pause the alarm for 5 minutes, the Zz icon will blink. The alarm will repeat every 5 minutes.

NOTE : If the alarm sounds for 60 minutes continuously, it will automatically turn off.

Dimmer Function

Slide the Dimmer Switch to adjust the brightness of the backlight.

Battery Warning

  • Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation.
  • Follow the polarity (+) & (-) to place battery.
  • Don’t mix old and new batteries.
  • Don’t mix Alkaline, Standard (Carbon-Zinc), or Rechargeable (Nickel-Cadmium) batteries.
  • Incorrect battery placement will damage the clock movement and battery may leak.
  • Exhausted battery is to be removed from the product.
  • Remove batteries from equipment which is not to be used for an extended period of time.
  • Don’t dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may explode or leak.

Lithium Battery Safety Instructions

Keep Button-cell battery away from children. Swallowing a button-cell battery can be fatal. Do not burn or bury batteries. Do not puncture or crush. Do not disassemble. Recycle lithium batteries. Do not dispose of in the trash. If the electrolyte in the cells should get on your skin, thoroughly wash with soap and water. If in the eyes, rinse thoroughly with cool water. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for charging the product and do not charge longer than recommended.

Digital Alarm Clock

This lightning flashes and appears as withing sign alerting you of “dangerous voltage” inside the product.

The exclamation point within the triangle is a warning sign alerting you of important instructions accompanying the product.

  9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding – type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
  15. Please keep the unit in a good ventilation environment.
  16. CAUTION : These servicing instructions are for use by qualified service personnel only. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not perform any servicing other than that contained in the operating instructions unless you are qualified to do so.

WARNING:

  • The mains plug is used as disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable. This equipment is a Class Il or double insulated electrical appliance. It has been designed in such a way that it does not require a safety connection to electrical earth. Do not install this equipment in a confined or building-in space such as a book case or similar unit, and remain a well ventilation conditions. The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items such as newspaper, tablecloths, curtains etc.
  • All above markings were located on the external enclosure of the apparatus, except for label of Date Code was pasted inside the battery compartment. The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall not be placed on the apparatus.

Caution : Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

WARNING : The battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
