Product Usage Instructions

Mounting Instructions:

  1. Use a hex wrench to remove the screws from the luminaire.
  2. Install the safety string and tighten the screw securely.
  3. Ensure the safety string length exposes 0.7m.
  4. Connect the power cord and signal cable as per the wiring instructions.

Wiring Instructions
On/Off Type Wiring:

  • Connect the power supply to the luminaire side following the polarity markings.
  • Use IP66 waterproof box for connections.

1-10V Control Type Wiring:

  • Connect the 1-10V control signal using the specified color codes to the luminaire side and power supply side.
  • Ensure correct connection for polarities.

Shorting cap (only for P5 NEMA version)

  1. Shall be fixed by a qualified electrician.
  2. Shall be fixed clockwise until the end. Rotation angle is about 10°.
  3. The shorting cap provided with the luminaire is rated for 3 years’ service life.
  4. The shorting cap should be replaced with the intended device or new shorting cap within 3 years.

Note

  1. Must use Signify suggested shorting cap to ensure IP66.
  2. Node installation refer to their MI.

Glare Ring in black (Only for DW2nR)

Safety String

  1. Use a hex wrench to remove the screws from the luminaire
  2. Install the safety string and tighten the screw.

  1. Customers can install safety string as required.
  2. Safety string is not provided by Signify, need to be prepared by user.
  3. Material spec of safety string should be robust and not less than SUS304 ∅2.
  4. Safety String length should expose 0.7m.

Recommended to use waterproof box IP66, the dimension value must be below the pole arm inner diameter value, to ensure it go through the pole arm. Waterproof box is not provided by Signify.

Install the luminaire on the pole

  • The angle of the pole : 0-15 degrees
  • Pole diameter: 40-60mm

Surge protection device replacement

  1. Need to remove the luminaire from the pole

  3. Replace the damaged SPD unit.PHILIPS-BRP490,-BRP490L-RoadFlair-Eco-fig- \(10\)

After replacing the SPD, repeat steps 2 and 1 to restore the luminaire and light up the luminaire.

  1. The luminaire shall be installed by a qualified electrician and wired in accordance with the latest IEEE electrical regulations or the national requirements.
  2. Switch off main power supply before Installation, maintenance and any operation
  3. The connection of power cable on the luminaire is type Y. If the external cable or cord of the luminaire is damaged, the cable should be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similar qualified person to avoid danger.
  4. The light source and/or control gear contained in this luminaire shall only be replaced by the manufacturer or his service agent or a similarly qualified person.
  5. Earthing contact to the customer end on the luminaire must be connected by installer, including whole use process that the earthing contact is always reliably linked to earth ground
  6. The luminaire should be positioned so that prolonged staring into the luminaire at a distance closer than 2.7m is not expected.
  7. The insulation between LV and control circuit is basic insulation
  8. The luminaire should avoid storage and usage in such a surrounding or an occasion that is with corrosion or hazardous gases like sulfide, halide, phthalate and so on.
  9. The PC material cannot be used in such an ambiance that is with ethylamine, or tetra-dichloroethylene, which is corrosion or hazardous to to material and so on.
  10. For periodic cleaning maintenance of luminaire in which PC material is exposed to the outside, Acid solution or alkali solution cannot be used as a cleaning solution to wash the outside surface of luminaire
  11. The manufacturer is not responsible to improper use, change and modification structure on the luminaire. Any damage or unsafety loss caused by these factors under not to be allowed, the manufacturer do not take any responsibility for this situation.
  12. All materials used in the luminaire must be in compliance to RoHSas the table.

Warming

  1. The luminaire shall be installed by a qualified electrician and wired in accordance with the latest IEEE electrical regulations or the national requirements.
  2. Turn the power off before inspection, installation or removal.
  3. The light source and/or control gear contained in this luminaire shall only be replaced by the manufacturer or his service agent or a similar qualified person.
  4. Refer to the technical datasheet for additional electrical properties to ensure safe installation.
  5. The luminaire installed must not be in contact with combustible materials.
  6. Ensure power supply cables (L-N / L-N-E) are connected correctly before switching on.

Maintenance

  1. Ensure power supply is switched off before attempting any maintenance work.
  2. Periodic cleaning of the luminaire optical lens cover will ensure maximum optical efficiency.
  3. The luminaire optical lens cover shall be cleaned with clean water and non-abrasive soap, cleaner or detergent solution.

Caution
The Luminaire must be used within the applicable product specifications, installation instructions and environmental conditions for storage & operations according to application guidelines provided by Signify for product Warranty to be valid.

FAQ

Q: What is the maximum number of luminaires that can be connected to a 16A MCB?
A: The maximum number varies depending on the type of MCB. For Type C, it is 1.6 times, and for Type B, it is 18.

Q: Is the safety string provided with the product?
A: No, the safety string is not provided by Signify and needs to be prepared by the user. It should be made of robust material like SUS304 2 and have a length of 0.7m.

Q: What is the purpose of the shorting cap mentioned in the manual?
A: The shorting cap is used to ensure IP66 protection and should be used as suggested by Signify for proper functionality.
