Operating Instructions
- Step 1: To activate the light, plug the DC adapter into a DC receptacle. Move the switch to ON.
WARNING:
Never place light face down when light is on or hot. Always turn off and
unplug when not in use.
- Step 2: To deactivate, move the switch to OFF and unplug from the power source.
- Step 3: Only use a Brinkmann halogen bulb designed for the Q-Beam Blue Max light as a replacement.
Bulb Replacement Instructions
- Step 1: Disconnect the light from the power source.
- Step 2: Remove screws from the top and bottom of the front housing.
- Step 3: Lay the light face down on a flat surface.
- Step 4: Lift the rear housing off while holding the front housing secure.
- Step 5: Pull the reflector away from the rear housing carefully.
- Step 6: Disconnect the bulb wire from the connector and remove the bulb from the reflector mounting plate.
- Step 7: Install a new bulb by aligning slots in the bulb base with those in the reflector mounting plate.

WARNING
- Never place the light face down when the light is on or is still hot from recent use. Doing so could burn/ignite surfaces such as seats, carpeting, etc. and cause major property damage. Always turn the light off and unplug from the power source when not in use.
- To prevent serious damage to eyesight, never look into the light when light is on. Do not shine light into the face of someone else.
- Do not touch the lens of the light when the light is on or if it was recently on. The lens will be hot and could cause serious burns.
- Keep battery clips or DC plug dry and out of the water at all times. Dry location use only.
- Do not place light in the water.
- Do not allow children to handle or operate this light.
- Do not use this product for other than its intended use.
- Do not operate nearby of combustible or flammable materials.
- Do not attempt to operate a lithe light if the cord, plug, bulb or any part of the light is damaged or corroded.
- USE CAUTION AND COMMON SENSE WHEN OPERATING YOUR LIGHT.

Tips to Avoid Damage to Your Q-Beam Light
- Never attempt to wipe or clean the inner reflective surface of the reflector. Touching or wiping the surface will damage it permanently.
- The lens is made of optical-quality, tempered glass. As with all glass, avoid dropping or sharp impact on light.
- Do not allow the hot lens to come in contact with water or materials subject to heat damage.
- This light is not waterproof. Do not use the light underwater or store it outdoors.
- Only use a Brinkmann 12-volt, halogen bulb that is designed for your Q- Beam light. Use of any other bulb may result in poor performance and may damage your light.
- After months of use, DC receptacles can build up corrosion that may prevent your Q-Beam light from making good contact. It may be necessary to clean the inside of your DC receptacle with a fine emery cloth. Before cleaning the receptacle, remove the fuse to prevent it from shorting out.

Step 1: To activate the light, plug the DC adapter into a DC receptacle. Move the switch to ON.
WARNING: Never place the light face down when the light is on or is still hot from recent use. Doing so could burn/ignite surfaces such as seats, carpeting, etc. and cause major property damage. Always turn the light off and unplug from the power source when not in use. -
Step 2: To deactivate, move the switch to OFF and unplug from the power source.
Only use a Brinkmann halogen bulb that is designed for the Q-Beam Blue Max light as a replacement. Use of any other bulb may result in poor performance and may damage your light.
IMPORTANT:
Do not touch the glass part of the bulb with your fingers as natural oils
affect the life and performance of the bulb. Handle the bulb by the metal end
only.
- Step 1: Disconnect the light from the power source.
- Step 2: Remove the two screws from top and bottom of the front housing (see Figure 1).
- Step 3: Lay the light face (lens) down on a flat surface.
- Step 4: Holding the front housing secure, slowly lift the rear housing off.
- Step 5: Pull the reflector away from the rear housing being careful not to pull wire connections inside. Do not touch the inside of the reflector.
NOTE:
The glass lens is not attached to the front housing. Use care when
disassembling to avoid breaking the lens.
- Step 6: Disconnect the bulb wire from the connector by holding the connector firmly with your fingers and then pulling the bulb wire straight out as shown in Figure 2.
- Step 7: Pinch the ends of the wire retainer together and lift as illustrated (Figure 3).
- Step 8: Pull the bulb straight out from the reflector mounting plate.
- Step 9: Disconnect the bulb wire from the connector by holding the connector firmly with your fingers and then pulling the bulb wire straight out.
- Step 10: To install the new bulb, grasp the bulb from the metal end (DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS PART) and insert it into the reflector mounting plate. Align the slots in the bulb base with those in the reflector mounting plate.
- Step 11: Replace the wire retainer by pinching the ends together while pressing down. Push ends apart so they catch on the reflector mounting plate.
- Step 12: Reconnect the bulb wire to the connector as illustrated in Figure 4.
- Step 13: To reassemble, place the front housing face (lens) down on a flat surface. Set the reflector into housing. Insert the rear housing into the front housing of the light.
- Step 14: Replace the two screws that were removed in Step 2. Do not over-tighten screws.

To Replace Cigarette DC Plug Fuse

Step 1: Disconnect light from the power source.

Step 2: Unscrew the cap of the DC plug and pull it straight away from the fuse.

Step 3: Pull the fuse holder and fuse out of the DC plug. Observe to see if the fuse is burned out.
Note: Use a 10A fuse only. The fuse is burned out when the fuse element is missing or broken inside a glass tube. Replace with new 10A fuse if fuse element is missing or broken. -
Step 4: Pull the fuse out of the fuse holder. Insert a new fuse into the holder.

Step 5: Insert fuse holder and fuse into DC plug.

Step 6: Screw the cap onto the DC plug.

1-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
For 1-year from the date of purchase, The Brinkmann Corporation warrants the Q-Beam Blue Max Light against defects due to workmanship or materials to the original purchaser. The Brinkmann Corporation’s obligations under this warranty are limited to the following guidelines:
- This warranty does not extend to the bulb.
- This warranty does not cover lights that have been altered/modified or damaged due to: normal wear, abuse, improper maintenance and/or improper use.
- This warranty does not cover surface scratches or weathering as this is considered normal wear.
- Warranty service is limited to repair or replacement of lights that prove defective under normal use and which upon examination shall indicate to Brinkmann’s satisfaction, that they are defective. If Brinkmann confirms the defect and approves the claim, Brinkmann will elect to repair or replace the spot/flood light as covered by the terms of this warranty.
- This warranty extends to the original purchaser only and is not transferable or assignable to subsequent purchasers.
The Brinkmann Corporation requires reasonable proof of purchase. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you retain your sales receipt or invoice. To obtain repair or replacement of your Q-Beam Blue Max Spotlight under the terms of this warranty, please call the Customer Service Department at 800-527-0717 for a Return Authorization Number and further instructions. A receipt will be required. A Return Authorization Number must be marked on the outside of the box. Lights returned to Brinkmann must include your name, address and telephone number. Please make sure the light is properly packed, postage prepaid, and insured. Brinkmann cannot be responsible for any lights forwarded to us without a Return Authorization Number.
EXCEPT AS ABOVE STATED, THE BRINKMANN CORPORATION MAKES NO OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTY. THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO 1-YEAR FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
