Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Some barcode types are disabled by default. How can I enable them?
A: For more information on enabling specific barcode types, please refer to the Full User Manual or contact us at helpdesk@scanavenger.com.
Q: Can I use Fast Charging AC adapters to charge the scanner?
A: No, please avoid using Fast Charging AC adapters as this may shorten the lifespan of the built-in battery.
Q: What should I do if I accidentally scan configuration codes and the scanner stops working?
A: Email us at helpdesk@scanavenger.com for the full reset process.
Q: How do I know the status of the scanner based on LED lights and buzzer signals?
A: Refer to the LED Light and Buzzer Description provided in the manual for detailed information on different statuses indicated by lights and sounds.
Can it automatically open a website page, after scanning a QR Code?
The basic idea is that the scanner acts as an automatic keyboard. You have to
click where you want the data to be written. Each time you scan a barcode, it
will transmit the data as if you were typing on a keyboard. Your devices will
recognize the scanner as a keyboard.
Please note that this will not impact your keyboard’s functionality.
When trying to scan, my scanner makes multiple beeps, without outputting anything. Why does this happen?
The number of beeps and the LED on the back of your scanner will help you identify why this is happening. The most common issues are:
- 3 beeps and flashing LED – your scanner is not connected to your device. To fix this, please follow the Dongle/Bluetooth Pairing from this Quick User Guide.
- 5 beeps and stops scanning (shuts down) – your scanner is out of battery. Please charge your scanner and try again.
Will ScanAvenger barcode scanners work with any Inventory Management Software?
Your ScanAvenger barcode scanner will work with most Inventory Management
Software. That being said, some Inventory Management Software developers
restrict what barcode scanners will work. We recommend checking their website
for more information.
