Product Usage Instructions
Setup
- Download the COM Port Driver (Virtual-COM-Port-Driver.exe) using the provided link.
- Ensure that the USB dongle is NOT connected.
- Right-click on Virtual-COM-Port-Driver.exe and Run as Administrator to initiate the installation.
- A confirmation message will appear, confirming the successful installation.
- Proceed to scan the barcode provided in the manual for your scanner type:
- The left barcode is for 1D scanners.
- The right barcode is for 1D and 2D scanners.
- Connect the USB dongle.
- Windows will automatically recognize the scanner, and it will be visible in the Device Manager, under Ports.
Testing
- Download and launch the Serial Command Assistant application.
- Verify that the PortNum aligns with the one identified in the Device Manager.
- Click on Open.
- Scan a barcode (not a configuration code, this can be any product barcode as an example).
- You’ll see your scanner’s output within the application’s DataLog.
