Product Usage Instructions

Setup

  1. Download the COM Port Driver (Virtual-COM-Port-Driver.exe) using the provided link.
  2. Ensure that the USB dongle is NOT connected.
  3. Right-click on Virtual-COM-Port-Driver.exe and Run as Administrator to initiate the installation.
  4. A confirmation message will appear, confirming the successful installation.
  5. Proceed to scan the barcode provided in the manual for your scanner type:
    • The left barcode is for 1D scanners.
    • The right barcode is for 1D and 2D scanners.
  6. Connect the USB dongle.
  7. Windows will automatically recognize the scanner, and it will be visible in the Device Manager, under Ports.

Testing

  1. Download and launch the Serial Command Assistant application.
  2. Verify that the PortNum aligns with the one identified in the Device Manager.
  3. Click on Open.
  4. Scan a barcode (not a configuration code, this can be any product barcode as an example).
  5. You’ll see your scanner’s output within the application’s DataLog.
