D-Link 10-100BASE-TX Fiber Interface Converters
INTRODUCTION
The New Fiber Converter Series DFE-855 series provides you with SC connectors for your fiber optic cable and RJ45 ports (straight through and crossover) for your 10/100Base-TX cable connection. The Fast Fiber Converters give you the freedom to extend your 10/100Mbps cabling distance by allowing connectivity up to 120 kilometers. Two LED indicators signal the UTP ink status and the Fiber tink status.

Fiber Optic Connectors
Two connectors are provided for fiber optic cable connection. One is labeled
Tx for transmission of optical data; the other is labeled “Rx” for reception
of optical data.
NOTE: The Maximum possible fiber Cable length is 120 Kms.

Installation alden
Connect the fiber interface cables to the DFE-855 series product Using a straight or cross UTP cable connect the Ethernet connection to the appropriate RJ-45 jack. Install the fiber converter with the AC power adapter provided (9V AC/AC) and connect the adapter to an AC outlet.
Connections
The following example illustrates the connection scheme when connecting from a
10OBASE-TX port of one SWITCH to a 100BASE-FX port of another SWITCH through
the fiber converter. The following example
illustrates the connection scheme when connecting from a 100BASE-TX port of
one HUB to a 100BASE-TX Network Interface Card (NIC) ina computer through the
fiber converter.
