INTRODUCTION:

TCT-700 is a multi-function cable tester for RJ45 LAN cable, BNC/F coaxial cable, tone generator, talk battery, continuity and 6P2C / 4P2C jack (Figure 1).

The sensing tip is used to avoid accidental short-circuits, wherein it’s provided with volume adjusting knob, audio frequency signal strength indicator and earphone plug for applications in different environment, and it has many different interfaces – 6P2C/ 4P2C telephone jack to check polarity (Figure 2), and it’s attached with power shortage indicator and hand-free to carry for on- site use.

OPERATION:
• Simple and easy to operate by membrane keyboard:

: To select RJ45, BNC, TONER, TALK BATT, CONT functionals.

: To enter for the testing result, and also can set up MUSIC1 and MUSIC 2 on TONER mode, user can select what the preferred music.

: Please note to press OFF button after end of works. (Auto-of power & shut down on RJ45, BNC, TALK BATT, CONT mode) ( TONER mode must press button to finish the testing.

• RJ45 Cable Tester Mode:

1. Push button ,the present mode is displayed by the yellow LED on the left. If it’s not in RJ45 mode then push to select RJ45 mode (Figure 3)

2. Connect the RJ45 LAN cable from main set to the remote terminator.

Push button “ PASS ” is shown by green LED and “ FAIL ” by red LED (Figure 4).

3. The RJ45 cable tester mode can verify if a pair of wires are OPEN or SHORT circuit by the yellow LED indicator on the right.
Example:

  1. If the cable pair 1 & 2 are open circuit (broken), the indicator for the pair 1 & 2 cable will not illuminate. 2) If the cable pair 3 & 6 are shorted, the indicator for the pair 3 & 6 cable will flash.
  2. If the cable pair 4 & 5 are correct, the indicator for the pair 4 & 5 will illuminate.

4. If user does not operate the tester within 20 seconds, it will power off automatically.

DO NOT USE ON LIVE CIRCUITS!

• BNC/F Coaxial Cable Tester Mode:

1. Push button, the present mode is display by the yellow LED on the left. If it’s not in BNC mode then push to select BNC mode (Figure 5).

2. Connect the BNC or F coaxial cable to the one connector. If the cable is good, the “ PASS ” LED will light up in green and pair 1 & 2 LEDs will light in yellow. If the cable is bad, the “ FAIL ” LED will light up in red and pair 1 & 2 LEDs will flash in yellow (Figure 6.)

3. If user does not operate the tester within 20 seconds, it will power off automatically.

DO NOT USE ON LIVE CIRCUITS!

• Toner Mode:

1. Push button, the present mode is displayed by the yellow LED on the left. If it’s not in TONER mode then push to select TONER mode (Figure 7).

2. Push button to select MUSIC 1 or MUSIC 2(Figure 8).

3. Connect the LAN cable to the RJ45 jack or any two wire cable to the alligator clips and push the probe’s test button, to trace the cable. The music transmitted through the cable will stop being transmitted if there is a break in the cable.

4. The audio frequency is transmitted through the red & black test leads,RJ12 jack or RJ45 jack. It can be used to trace the cables and network cables hidden in the walls, ceiling or bundles, or seek the location of a break in the cable.

5. Different music can be selected by pushing button, the music 1 LED

6. If user does not operate the tester within 30 minutes, it will power off automatically.

• Talk Batt Mode:

1. Push button, the present mode is displayed by the yellow LED on the left. If it’s not in TALK BATT mode then push to select TALK BATT mode (Figure 9).

2. The red line of the first telephone is clipped to the red test lead and the black line of the first telephone is connected to the red line of the second telephone. The black line of the second telephone is clipped to the black test lead so as to complete the connection between the two telephones for communication (Figure 9).

3. If user does not operate the tester within 30 minutes, it will power off automatically.

** Note: If left on TALK BATT mode, the battery will drain.

• Cont Mode:

1. Push button, the present mode is display by the yellow LED on the left. If it’s not in CONT mode then push to select CONT mode (Figure 10).

2. The two ends of the conducting wire are clipped to the red and black test leads. When the conducting wire is normally connected then the “PASS” LED will light up in green and pair 7 & 8 LED will light up in yellow, if the conducting wire is disconnected or faulty then the “ FAIL ” LED will light up in red and pair 7 & 8 LED will flash yellow (Figure 10).

3. If user does not operate the tester within 20 seconds, it will power off automatically.

• Low Battery Indication:

1. If the power of the battery is under 7V, the light flashes indicating low battery that needs to be replaced.
