Overview

INKBIRD IDT-22-B is a smart Bluetooth 5.4 food thermometer with a probe winder and table stand functions and can be used for both barbecue and home cooking. It accurately detects food temperatures, supports setting food temperatures and doneness via a smartphone application, which allows you to remotely monitor food temperature changes, and supports temperature alarms to ensure good cooking results and safety. It can help you easily control the cooking situation of food, and ensure health and safety while enjoying delicious food.

operation Button Definitions

Power ON/OFF: Press and hold for 3 seconds to power on or off. Press and hold for 30 seconds to force reset the device.
Backlight: Press once to turn the backlight on or off.
Alarm: When the device is sounding an alarm, press it to stop the alarm. Bluetooth Connection: When Bluetooth requests pairing, press it once to complete the pairing and establish a connection.

Battery Details & Precautions

Battery Details

  1. The INKBIRD IDT-22-B has a built-in 500mAh lithium battery. In the Bluetooth mode, the low-power-consumption battery can last up to 45 hours.
  2. lf the battery power is insufficient, please charge it with the provided USB charging cable. It can be fully charged within about 2 hours.
  3. Please kindly understand that the backlight and high temperature measurement will increase power consumption and affect the battery life.
  4. After turning on the device, if no probe is inserted and no button is pressed within 5 minutes, the device will automatically enter sleep mode.
  5. lf the battery power is too low, the temperature measurement results may be incorrect, the screen backlight and alarm sound may be deactivated, and the device may be disconnected from the smartphone app. Please charge the device immediately.

Precautions For Use

  1. Please do not disassemble this product or replace the internal battery by yourself.
  2. Please do not place the product on any hot surface such as hot stoves, ovens, and smokers as this may cause damage to the product and even personal injury.
  3. Please do not clean this product with running water or place it in a dishwasher or water sink to avoid battery damage.
  4. Please do not use or store this product in extreme weather or in high humidity environments to avoid shortening the battery lifespan or damaging the battery.
  5. Please do not use a non 5V 1 A charging cable to charge this product to avoid damage to the device or charging failure.
  6. lf you are not going to use this product for an extended period of time, please charge the battery to approximately 50% of its capacity to prevent the battery from entering a deep discharge state and causing charging failure. Also, please do not fully charge the battery before storing this product as this will shorten the battery lifespan or reduce its capacity.

Operation Instructions

Before using the IDT-22-B Bluetooth Smart Food Thermometer, please make sure that the battery has sufficient power and that you have read the Important Safety Information mentioned in this manual.

  1. When cleaning the stainless steel temperature probes provided, avoid immersing the probes and probe cables in water or cleaning them with corrosive detergents, as this may cause damage.
  2. Prepare a smartphone running iOS12 (or later) or Android 7.1 (or later) to download the INKBIRD app and complete the connection (referring to the section 7 App Installation & Connection).
  3. Please successively insert each cleaned probe into the probe ports and the corresponding display area for each probe on the screen will show the real-time temperatures.
  4. 0pen the INKBIRD app and set the parameters for the food that needs to be cooked.
  5. lnsert the probe into the middle of the meat, avoiding any bones or cartilage. Take care not to tangle the probe cable and ensure that the probe is not exposed to fire. During cooking, fix the probe with the provided clamp for stable and reliable measurement results.
  6. lf you are going to use an oven, please place the thermometer outside the oven and leave it on a flat surface that is not metal and not hot. Take care to reserve enough length so as not to pull out of the probe from the meat or from the thermometer when closing the oven door.
  7. When the meat’s internal temperature reaches the preset point, the thermometer will sound an alarm and the INKBIRD app will send an alarm notification. To turn off the alarm, you can press the power button on the food thermometer once or cancel it through the app. The alarm will continue until it is manually stopped.
    Note: After cooking, please do not immediately touch the hot probe or probe cable. If necessary, please wear heat-insulated gloves or use a tool to prevent burns.

NOTE:

  1. Your iOS devices must be running iOS 12.0 or above to download the app smoothly.
  2. Your android devices must be running android 7.1 or above to download the app smoothly.
  3. APP Location Permission Requirement: We need to obtain your location information to discover and add nearby devices. INKBIRD promises to keep your location information strictly confidential. And your location information will only be used for the location function of the App and will not be collected, used, or disclosed to any third party. Your privacy is very important to us. We will abide by relevant laws and regulations and take reasonable security measures to protect your information security.

Registration

  1. Steps: Registering an account is necessary before using the INKBIRD app for the first time.
  2. Step 2: Open the app, select your Country/Region, and a verification code will be sent to you.
  3. Step 3: Enter the verification code to confirm your identity, and the registration is complete.

How to Connect
Open the INKBIRD app and click·+· on the top right corner to add a device. Then, follow the app instructions to complete the connection. Make sure that the device is placed as close as possible to the smartphone during the connection process.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Please store this product in a cool, dry place. Do not store it in direct sunlight, not in an environment with high temperatures, low tempera­tures below 0″C, or high humidity to prevent product damage, property loss or personal injury.
  2. When cleaning the probe, do not immerse it in water or put it in a dishwasher, and do not use corrosive detergents. Instead, use running water to wash it and wipe it dry before storing it. Additionally, keep the product away from children to prevent injury due to the sharp probe.
  3. lf you are not going to use this product for an extended period of time, please charge the battery to approximately 50% of its capacity to prevent the battery from entering a deep discharge state and causing charging failure.
  4. This product is not waterproof. Use a slightly damp cloth to clean the thermometer when necessary and prevent water from seeping into it and causing damage.

Important Notes/Warnings

  1. This product is designed solely for use as a food thermometer. It is not recommended for any other purposes.
  2. Please do disassemble the product or replace the internal battery by yourself.
  3. Please do not use this product in high humidity environments such as bathrooms or gardens. Keep it away from direct sunlight, fire sources, and heat sources.
  4. Please do not use the probe in cooking environments above 300″C (572’F) or below 0″C (32’F), not expose it directly to flame or burning wood charcoal, as this may damage the probe and probe cable.
  5. During or at the end of cooking, please do not touch the overheated probe or probe cable with bare hands. If necessary, wear heat-insulated gloves to avoid burns.

Why Cannot Connect Bluetooth?
  1. Make sure that your smartphone or tablet is running iOS12 / Android 7.1 or later.
  2. Make sure that you have Bluetooth enabled on your smartphone or tablet and that the thermometer’s battery has sufficient power.
  3. Make sure that the positioning function is enabled on your smartphone or tablet and that the application is authorized to access location information .
  4.  Place your smartphone or tablet as close to the thermome­ ter as possible, avoiding any metal or obstructions.

  • 5.  Make sure that the thermometer is disconnected from any other smartphones and that the Bluetooth funct ion is disabled on those smartphones.
  • 6.   Restart the thermometer, open the INKBIRD app, and repeat the connection steps.
  • 7.   Turn off any other Bluetooth devices or disable their Bluetoo th functions within the connection range.

  1. __ You can calibrate the temperature to what you believe is correct through the application.
  2. Check that the probe and its cable are intact and not tangled.
  3.  Check if the current temperature exceeds or has once exceeded the probe measurement range, which caused damage.

  • 4.   Check if water seeped into the probe or device. Wipe it dry and use a hair dryer to air dry the whole unit, then see if it can read temperature correctly.
  • 5.   Do not immerse the probe in water during use or cleaning. If necessary, please purchase a replacement.

Why Cannot Charge

The Device?

  1. Please use the provided charging cable to charge the device.
  2.  lf you need to use another cable, make sure it is a 5V 1 A Type-C charging cable.
  3. This product does not support fast charging.
