BONTEMPI 10 3000 Electronic Grand Piano

ATTENTION: Do not use alcohol, solvents or similar chemical substances for cleaning. Use a soft cloth dampened in a bland solution of water and neutral detergent.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

This toy must be assembled by adults.

MAINS SUPPLY

The instrument can be powered by a mains adaptor (not included) with the following characteristics in output: VDC = 5V; I = 500 mA (positive central terminal). Insert the jack in the DC socket 7.

WARNING: The transformer, power supply used with the electric toy shall be regularly examined for damage to the supply cord, plug, enclosure or other parts, and in the event of damage, it shall not be used until the damage has been repaired.

  • the transformer or power supply is not a toy.
  • Make sure the toy is disconnected from the power supply unit before cleaning it.
  • The toy shall only be used with a transformer for toys or a power supply for toys. This toy is only to be connected to equipment bearing either of the following symbols.

NOTE: Rating plate information was located at bottom enclosure of the apparatus.

BATTERY SUPPLY

Use a screwdriver to open the battery compartment. Insert 4 x 1.5 V batteries R6/AA (not supplied), ensuring correct polarity (+/–). Re-fit battery cover. Replace batteries when the quality of sound becomes bad. Use alkaline batteries to obtain a longer duration.

ATTENTION – BATTERY CARE

  • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
  • Rechargeable batteries must be removed from the toy before being charged.
  • Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
  • Different types of batteries or new and old batteries are not to be mixed.
  • Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type.
  • Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.
  • Remove exhausted batteries to prevent leakage.
  • Do not short-circuit supply terminals.
  • Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.

WASTE DISPOSAL STANDARDS
For information regarding the disposal of the items mentioned here below, please refer to Council Administration office regar-ding specialised waste collection centres.

DISPOSAL OF BATTERIES:
Protect the environment by disposing of batteries in the special containers provided for this use.

PACKAGING DISPOSAL

Take the paper, cardboard and corrugated board to the appro-priate waste collection centres. Plastic material must be placed in the relevant collection containers.
The symbols indicating the various types of plastic are:

Key for the different types of plastic materials:

  • PET = Polyethylene terephtalate
  • PE = Polyethylene, code 02 for PE-HD, 04 for PE-LD
  • PVC =Polyvinyl chloride
  • PP = Polypropylene
  • PS = Polystyrene, Polystyrene foam
  • O = Other polymers (ABS, Laminates, etc.)

DISPOSING OF ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

The wheelie bin symbol with a cross indicates that the product must not be disposed of in the domestic waste at the end of its useful life. Instead, it should be taken to your nearest designated collection point or recycling facility. Alternatively, check with your retailer and return the product when buying a replacement, on a one-to-one basis or as free of charge in case the size is smaller than 25 cm. Appropriate disposal promotes the recycling of parts and materials, as well as helping to protect the environment and human health. Under current legislation, strict penalties are enforced against those disposing of products illegally. For more information about the collection of special waste, contact your Local Authority.

SWITCHING ON/OFF
To switch on the instrument move selector 11 to ON. To switch off move the same selector to OFF.

DEMOSONGS
This keyboard has 22 demosongs. To choose the pre-recorded tracks, press the DEMO ONE key 9 in suc-cession. Press DEMO ALL 10, to listen to the 22 demo- songs in sequence. Press STOP 14 to interrupt.

VOLUME CONTROL
Adjust volume to desired level by using the VOLUME button 18 to increase or VOLUME – to reduce b.

SOUND SELECTIONS
You can select one of the 4 sounds by pressing the related button 5.

RHYTHMS SELECTIONS
You can select one of the 4 rhythms by pressing the related buttons 18. Press the TEMPO button 1 to increase (+ ) or reduce (–) the rhythm speed. Press STOP n to interrupt.
RECORD/PLAYBACK FUNCTION
This function enables you to record and playback a tune played on the keyboard. Press REC 3 before playing a tune. When you have finished press REPLAY 4 to listen to the tune.
LED ON/OFF
Press the LED button 13 to activate or deactivate the light effects of the keys.

DRUM PADS
By pressing the button DRUM CHANGE 16 you can utilize the 4 drum pads 17 either to play alternatively 4+4 percussion instruments.

LEARNING LEVELS
This piano has also been designed for music novices who wish to learn to play with no effort, quickly and above all, having fun.
There are 3 learning levels: GUIDE1, GUIDE2 and GUIDE3 15.

GUIDE1 (1st level)

When you press the GUIDE1 button, a song will start playing. Try to play the melody of the song by randomly and repeatedly pressing one or more keys on the keyboard, trying to keep tempo with the orchestra. The red lights that switch on under the keys correspond to the notes of the melody. Press the GUIDE1 button again to switch to the next song. Press STOP to exit the mode.

GUIDE2 (2nd level)

Press the GUIDE2 button, the accompaniment of the song will start and a red light will switch on at the first note to be played. Try following the lights keeping the tempo with the accompaniment, you can adjust the rhythm with the buttons TEMPO + or TEMPO – . In this level, if you don’t press the light button the melo-dy will NOT play. Press STOP to exit the mode.

GUIDE3 (3rd level)

When you press the GUIDE3 button, a song will start playing. Memorize these first notes and try playing them in sequence. If you get it wrong all keys will light up and you will have to start over again. If you conclude the sequence of notes correctly, the song will continue to the next step.

HOW TO PLAY THE MUSIC ON A SMARTPHONE OR OTHER MP3 PLAYER
With the 3.2 mm jack cable (supplied) you can connect an external audio source (MP3 player, tablet, smartphone, etc., not supplied) to the grand piano.

  1. Insert the cable into the MP3 f socket.
  2. Insert the other end of the cable into the “HEADPHONE” socket of your music player or another audio source.
  3. Turn on the player, or other music sources and adjust the volume to balance the voice with the music; the reproduction will be monophonic because of the instrument.

MICROPHONE
Insert the microphone in the special holder and connect to the MIC socket h.

MUSICAL NOTES INDICATORS
Above the keys on the front of the instrument, there is a colored label with an indication of numbers next to each button in order to facilitate the recognition of musical notes according to the BONTEMPI method.
There are some songs written with the Bontempi method on the back of the box, while others can be downloaded from the websitewww.bontempi.com

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE


Problem| Solution
The instrument doesn’t work or distorted sound| Batteries low – fit new batteries. Batteries incorrectly fitted – check.
If there is an irritating whistling sound| Move the microphone away from the loudspeaker.
No sound can be heard from the external music source| Check that the volume of the external musical.
ATTENTION: in the case of malfunctioning remove and re-insert the batteries
