SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • The device shall only be used for its intended purpose and in undamaged and flawless condition
  • Only genuine CEAG spare parts may be used for replacement and repair
  • When working on the emergency luminaire the system must first be blocked, battery operation must be interrupted and mains must be switched off – turn off the power completely, ensure that it cannot be turned back on and check if it is free of voltage (the above applies to mains power, backup power and possibly control and external voltage). The picture below shows the indication label on the emergency luminaire.
  • Prior to its initial operation, the luminaire will have to be checked in line with the instructions (see installation section)
  • Carry out the marking of the emergency luminaire: Assign the circuit and the luminaire No. and enter them.
  • The recording must be carried out in accordance with national regulations (not applicable for automatic recording).
  • Any foreign object shall be removed from the luminaire prior to its initial operation!
  • Observe the national safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents as well as the safety instructions included in these operating instruction marked with

IMPORTANT

Conformity with standards
Luminaire for emergency lighting acc. to EN 60 598-2-22 DIN 4844-1, DIN EN ISO 7010 und DIN EN 1838 for connection to safety luminaire systems acc. to DIN EN 50172, DIN VDE 0100-560 and DIN VDE V 0108-100-1.
Designed, manufactured and tested according to DIN EN ISO 9001.

Brief description / Scope of application

The safety luminaires GuideLed DX/DXC CG-S are suitable for operation on CEAG emergency lighting systems with STAR-technology, with additional function to block escape routes via a switching input (DX), e.g. smoke detector or panic switch via potential free contact or connection to an AE-CU via anintegrated bus interface (DXC). The advanced switching and monitoring mode is only available in combination with CEAG CG-S-technology. The circuit must be programmed to „per luminaire setup“.
It is possible to select different modes via a rotary switch. The settings of the rotary switch are descri-bed in the table in section 4.3.

Construction of the luminaire/ Dimensional drawings

The pictogram panels are sensitive to finger-prints. When mounting, please do not touch the pictogram surface, but always hold the pictogram against the plastic frame.

Installation/Operation

Electrical wiring

Select required address (see chapter 4.2) and operating mode (see chapter 4.3).

While connecting the pictogram panel please observe the correct polarity.

Connect red wire to the lower + connector and black wire to the lower –connector.
Connect the white wire to the upper +connector „luminaire“.
Connect mains and control wire to the supply module.

Important installation information:
It is not allowed to connect several GuideLed DX luminaires parallel to one relay contact!
In this case, a coupling relay with several indepen-dent contacts must be used.
The permissible cable length at the control input of the luminaire depends on EMC influences. When using an unshielded untwisted cable, the maximum cable length is approx. 2m.
To increase the cable length, the use of a shielded and twisted cable with a minimum cross-section of 0.5mm² is recommended, e.g. shielded and twisted pair communication cable. To protect against electrical fields, it is recommended to connect the cable shield on one side and with low resistance (large area) to the operating earth. This allows cable lengths of up to 50m to be achieved. It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure trouble-free operation with correct installation.

For connection of the pictogram, see GuideLed DX CG-S.
Connect mains and loop wire to the supply module. A shielded twisted pair cable is recommended as loop cable.
Pay attention to Loop IN and Loop OUT wires.
Important: Screen continuity must be maintained throughout the entire loop circuit. For this purpose the screen can be connected to the earth terminal of the module. Alternatively, the screen can be connected via a separate terminal within the luminaire. It is essential to ensure that the screen does not come into contact with other metallic parts.EATON-Led-

It is possible to select different modes via a rotary switch, e.g. red cross blinking to increase the visibility. Furthermore it is possible to select a mode „red cross in normal mode“ which allows a blocking of an exit route in normal operation. In case of emergency the red cross goes out and the exit route will be release for evacuation
