MOUNTING THE FHD500
The FHD500 screen is mounted to the base plate from the bottom up and at a slight angle, making sure that all interior connections are properly aligned. Tighten the screw on the bottom of the FHD500 monitor to secure it to the base plate. The screw uses a 5/64 allen or hex key. Use the following guidance: 1. Hold the screen slightly tilted away from the base plate. Align the screw hole, socket, and clip holes to their counterpart in the
base plate.
Note: Installers should be aware that they can crunch/break/damage the socket connector if they are not careful with aligning the unit when they are installing the wall plate.

Terminal Strip Wiring 1. See the Wire strip length range on the wall plate for directions on how much coating you should strip off the wires. 2. When wiring the wall plate for the FHD500, use the supplied release tool or a paper clip to install and remove wires (shown
below). This ensures that the wires are more easily seated in the terminals, especially if you are using stranded wire.
3. While pressing down on the tool hole with the release tool, insert the wire into the terminal hole. 4. Push the excess wire back through the wall plate hole. 5. Check for loose or frayed wires that might cause an electrical short.

Audible alarm not working

· Check that power is properly connected to the FHD500. · Check that there is 24 VAC across the power wires. · Check that power wires are firmly pushed into the base board of the FHD500.
· Check that the communication wiring is correct. · Polarity must be maintained throughout the BACnet MS/TP Trunk. · There must be an End Of Line (EOL) resistor installed at both ends of the MS/TP Trunk. This resistor must be a 120 , 1/4 W resistor. · The MS/TP cabling must meet minimum requirements.
· Check the Communication configuration from FHD500 menu. · Ensure that MS/TP communication is enabled. · Ensure that the chosen MAC address and Device ID do not conflict with other devices on the network. · Ensure that the BAUD rate matches the rest of the devices on the network.
· Check that the volume is turned up past 0% in the menu. · Check that someone has not muted the alarm (if the alarm is muted, the alarm bell
contains a circle with a slash through the alarm bell).
