GRANBERG 106.1690K Cow Leather Welding Gloves Instructions
Cow leather welding gloves with cow split back of hand. Fleece lined. Sewn ® with Kevlar thread. The gloves protects against splashes of molten metal and can be used for all-round welding jobs.
Storage/Transport: The gloves are first packed in plastic bags which
are subsequently packed in cardboard boxes for transport and storage.
Gran berg recommends storing unused gloves in original packaging. Prevent
direct sunlight.
Maintenance/Cleaning : Both new and used gloves should be inspected
before use, and before putting them on to make sure that there is no damage to
them. If in doubt, discard the gloves and select a new pair.
Leaving the gloves in a contaminated condition may cause a deterioration of
quality. Cleaning or disinfecting the gloves may also negatively affect
quality. The performance characteristics of gloves that have been worn or
cleaned/disinfected/laundered may differ from the performance levels declared.
Gloves can only be cleaned with damp cloth, but it will not stop permeation
processes.
Obsolescence: When stored as recommended, unused gloves will not suffer any change in their mechanical properties for up to five years from the date of manufacture. Service life depends on application and maintenance and cannot be specified. It is the responsibility of the user to ascertain the suitability of the gloves for the user’s tasks.
Donning/Doffing: Select the right size glove for your hand. Hold the glove by the cuff with one hand. Align the glove thumb with your other hand thumb and slide your hand into the glove, one finger into each finger. Pull by the glove cuff and align fingers into the right position. Use the same procedure for the other hand. If gloves are not contaminated, pull by the fingertips to doff the gloves. If gloves are contaminated, hold the glove cuff and pull toward the finger until the gloves come off.
Please note: Inspect the gloves for damage before use. The gloves
shall not be worn when there is a risk of entanglement with moving parts of
machines. Gloves meeting the requirement for resistance to puncture may not be
suitable for protection against sharply pointed objects such as hypodermic
needles. Gloves containing latex may cause allergic reactions in cases of
hypersensitivity to latex. Seek medical advice if applicable. None of the raw
materials used in glove, or process of manufacturing it, are known to be
harmful to the user. Do not expose to open flame. If the gloves become wet, do
not use them to handle hot objects. For multi-layer gloves, performance level
are applicable to the whole glove including all layers. In the event of a
molten metal splash, the user shall leave the working place immediately and
remove the glove. In the event of a molten metal splash, the glove may not
eliminate all burn risks. Due to the application of the glove, it cannot
easily be removed in case of an emergency. There is no standardised test
method at present for detecting UV penetration of materials for gloves but the
current methods of construction of protective gloves for welders do not
normally allow penetration of UV radiation. When gloves are intended to arc
welding:
these gloves do not provide protection against electric shock, caused by
defective equipment or live working, and the electrical resistance is reduced
if gloves are wet, dirty or soaked with sweat, this could increase the risk.
These gloves are intended to protect hands in working environment in
accordance with EN 388:2016+A1:2018, EN 407:2020, EN 12477:2001+A1: 2005 Type
A, EN 1149-2:1997 and EN ISO 21420:2020. It is the responsibility of the user
to evaluate and determine risks based on the intended application. The gloves
should only be used for applications declared suitable by the manufacturer.
Risk should be evaluated keeping in mind the protection levels and the
harmonised standards on which gloves are tested. The results of the tests
should help in glove selection, however it must be understood that actual
conditions of use cannot be simulated and it is the responsibility of the
user, not the manufacturer, to determine glove suitability to the intended
use. Further information may be obtained from manufacturer.
1/A = minimum requirement
4/5/F = maximum requirement
X – not tested
The results are taken from the palm area of the gloves.
The protection level increases with performance class.
EN 12477: 2001+A1:2005 Type A, including clause 3.4 (the electrical vertical resistance), tested in accordance with EN 1149-2 :1997 and meets the requirements R>1.0×10⁵ Ω
