Introduction

The combination of Lenovo ThinkSmart Core MTR with the Lightware UCX/TPX matrixes, provides customers with the capability:

  • To switch between three content sharing laptops connected using either USB-C or USB-A/HDMI
  • To switch between MTR and BYOD/BYOM modes, either automatically or through the MTR 2nd page for room control.
  • Room control for your room assets, displays, shades, screens, DSP, lights, etc.

In BYOD/BYOM mode, the connected laptops can make use of the room display, camera and audio peripherals. When no source laptop is connected to the UCX/TPX, the device switches to MTR mode automatically. -This is a parameter in LARA configuration, can be set up several ways.
In either MTR or BYOD/BYOM modes, source laptops can be connected either through USB-C (up to 2 sources) or USB-A/HDMI (1 source available).

  • In case of dual Front of Room displays in the meeting room, a UCX/TPX model with 3 HDMI outputs is required (e.g. UCX-4×3-HC40);
  • Please note that when switching to BYOD/BYOM mode, all the remote management systems (Microsoft Teams Admin Center, teams Room Pro Management Portal and Lenovo Thinksmart Manager) will mark the MTR device as unhealthy because of display, audio and video peripherals disconnected and will generate alarms if configured to do so;
  • Please note the Lenovo ThinkSmart Bar and Bar XL will play the “USB connected/disconnected” announcement while switching from/to BYOD modes.
