SAFETY INFORMATION
Warning!
-
DO NOT allow children or persons with compromised mental or physical capabilities to operate this device or come near during or shortly after use without close supervision.
-
ONLY use on a firm, flat, stable surface. Never move the device during or shortly after use.
-
ONLY use with a stable, compatible, and grounded power source. Do not move the device by holding or pulling the power cord. Never damage or modify the plug and do not use with a 3-to2 prong adapter.
Never use with any extension cord of insufficient gauge to handle the expected electrical load of the device. -
ALWAYS remember that the heat displayed on the device is the targeted heat in the middle of the main plate. The heat of any fluid on the plate should be measured separately. The main plate will remain heated after use even when the temperature knob has been turned off.
-
DO NOT touch the main plate or heated objects directly during or shortly after use. They can become extremely hot and rapidly cause severe burns. Keep easily flammable materials away during use. Never use in environments with flammable or explosive gasses.
-
ALWAYS wear personal protective equipment (PPE) sufficient for your task, including protective eyewear. If any dangerous fluid is handled or if any heated surface must be touched during or shortly after use, exercise extreme caution and wear protective gloves and clothing sufficient to prevent burns in the event of an accident.
-
ALWAYS check that the clamp is securely fastened during use.
-
ALWAYS research the materials to be heated and/or stirred before use and combination.
Always know the first aid procedures to apply in the event of an accident with the fluid you are handling. Never use this device to handle any substance that produces poisonous, flammable, or explosive gasses spontaneously or when heated or stirred. -
DO NOT leave this device unattended during use. Restrict access to the area where this device is in use until it has fully cooled or warn any passersby of the potential danger of its heated surfaces.
-
ONLY use with glass vessels rated to withstand the heat and force of this device. Never use metallic vessels and never place any insulating material such as foil or sand baths between the main plate and a glass vessel. These can damage the main plate and create the risk of static electric shock.
-
Stop use I MMED I ATELY if any abnormality occurs during use and DO NOT use if any part becomes worn or damaged. In particular, a scratched or chipped main plate may EXPLODE during use if left uncorrected. Disconnect the device from power, wait for all items to cool, and then repair or replace any damaged components before further use. (Damaged main plates should always be completely replaced.)
-
ALWAYS turn off the device, disconnect it from power, and allow it to cool before performing any cleaning or maintenance.

ASSEMBLY
- Slide the support rod into its matching slot on the device.
- Loosen half of the clamp and move it into the desired position on the support rod. Retighten the clamp.
- Loosen the other side of the clamp and slide the crossbar into position. Retighten the clamp.
- Place the device on a firm, flat, stable surface.
- After ensuring the power switch on the side of the device is flipped to O, connect the device to its power supply.
- Find a place to nearby to hold the stirrer between uses.
OPERATION
-
Research any substances that you will heat or stir on the device before use. Be sure that heating and/or stirring them will not cause them to release poisonous, flammable, or explosive gasses.
-
Prepare your initial fluid in a suitable temperature-resistant glass vessel and set it on the main plate. If you wish to use the stirrer, place it at the bottom of your vessel before adding your fluid or tilt the vessel a small amount and roll it down one side.
-
If you wish to use a probe, make any necessary adjustment to the height of the clamp and then slide the probe into its hole on the crossbar.
-
Before use, make sure that both the stirring and heating knobs are turned off. The white line should be fully anti-clockwise and pointing straight down as shown. Turn on the device by flipping the power switch on the side to I.
-
To heat the main plate, turn the HEAT I NG knob. Turning clockwise increases the temperature to a maximum of 300°C. Turning anti-clockwise decreases the temperature and then turns off all heating.
Treat the main plate with extreme care once it has begun heating. It can cause severe burns rapidly with no visible warning.
The set temperature applies to the middle of the surface of the main plate. The exact temperature of the fluid itself must be measured separately. Remember that the main plate will remain heated even after the knob is turned off. Continue to treat it with caution or wear appropriate protective equipment to avoid burns and accidents. -
To stir your fluid, turn the STIRRING knob. Turning clockwise begins spinning the stirrer at 100 rpm and then increases the speed to a maximum of 2000 rpm. Turning anti-clockwise decreases the speed and then turns off all stirring. For best results, use low and moderate settings for extended stirring.
For best results, allow periodic breaks for the device’s components to rest. Generally speaking, moderate speeds can be used continuously for about 8 hours before allowing at least a half hour rest. High speeds can be used for about half as long. -
When you are done, turn both knobs to their off positions and flip the power switch to O.
Remove any probe. If you used the magnetised stirrer, it can be easily removed using any long ferrous metal object. Rinse both items if needed.
Continue to treat the heated fluid and main plate with extreme care. -
Taking care to avoid any spill or touching any heated surface with exposed skin, remove your vessel from the main plate. Continue to restrict access to the area around the device until it has fully cooled.
MAINTENANCE
- Turn off the device, disconnect it from power, and wait for any heated surfaces to cool before undertaking any cleaning or other maintenance.
- Clean with a soft dry cloth. Do not use any abrasive materials, caustic chemicals, or any cleanser whose residue might be flammable.
- Periodically check for any wear or damage. Repair or replace any problematic components before further use. Always replace scratched or chipped main plates.
- If this magnetic stirrer will not be used for an extended period, store in a cool dry location away from direct sunlight and inaccessible to children.
