  • However, offering diffderent materials for individual lights, complicates the issue of cleaning.

Raw brass:

Raw brass is a soft unifinished metal and as such will tarnish and patina over time. we recomend cleaning regularly with a soft clean cloth, if you wish to return your light to its original condition, we suggest a mild metal polish such as Brasso.

Powder coated:

  • Powder coating is a hard wearing painted finish which is baked on increase durability.
  • We recomend cleaning regularly with a soft clean cloth only.
  • As with all painted finishes exposure to high tempretures and strong sunlight can lead to fading.

Specialist coatings:

  • Satin, Nickel, Old English and Bronze are all pre applied finishes that prevent tarnishing.
  • This coating is easily damaged with chemicals and therefore metal cleaners are not recommended.
  • To maintain the finish we suggest a clean regularly with a soft clean cloth.

Wood, Glass and Ceramics:

  • Shades made from wood, glass and bone china are fine to be wiped with a soft damp cloth.
  • However, many of our shades are hand thrown and unglazed (not glossy) these can absorb liquid.
  • For this reason we suggest, only useing a soft clean cloth.
