POWER CONNECTION
The main power cable must be connected to the positive terminal of the vehicle battery to provide an adequate voltage source and minimize noise. There must be an in-line fuse within 18 inches of the battery. Connecting the battery terminal lead to any other point will reduce the power output and may cause noise and distortion. Use only 8 gauge or larger wire for this lead and connect it to the (+) terminal of the battery with the system fuse in line. Do not install the fuse in the fuse holder until the entire installation is completed.
GROUND CONNECTION
The ground terminal (GND) connection is also critical to the correct operation of the amplifier. Use a wire of the same gauge as the power connection and connect it between the ground terminal (GND) of the amplifier and a metal part of the vehicle close to the mounting location. This wire should be as short as possible and any paint or rust at the grounding point should be scraped away to provide a clean metal surface to which the end of the ground wire can be screwed or bolted.
REMOTE TURN-ON CONNECTION
The amplifier is turned on by applying + 12V to the remote turn-on terminal
(REM). The wire lead to this terminal should be connected to the remote lead
from the car stereo which will provide the + 12V only when the car stereo is
turned on. If the car stereo does not provide a remote lead, the remote turn-
on lead may be wired to an accessory terminal in the car’s fuse block. This
will turn the amplifier on and off with the ignition key, regardless of
whether the car stereo is on or off.
REMOTE TURN-ON CONNECTION
Wire the subwoofer terminal per the wiring diagram (right). Use 16 gauge wire
between the enclosure terminal and the amplifier, for leads over ten feet, 14
gauge wire is recommended. When wiring the subwoofers, pay careful attention
to the polarity of the terminals on the enclosure and make certain they
correspond to the polarity on the amplifier.
SIGNAL (RCA) CONNECTION
Connect the low-level signal cables (RCA type) from your car stereo or LOC to
the input section on your amplifier as shown below.
REMOTE BASS KNOB (RBK) CONNECTION
Mounting the RBK at the front of the vehicle in an easy-to-reach location.
Connect the remote level control using the supplied RJ-11 (telephone) cable.
Plug one end into the amplifier and the other into the RBKThis will allow you
to adjust the sub-level from the front of the vehicle
REMOTE BASS KNOB (RBK) CONNECTION
This is used to connect the speaker wires directly from the radio to the
amplifier as an input signal that is typically used on factory radios or any
radio that does not have RCA outputs) connect the White and White/Black to the
left front speaker outputs (white to the positive (+) lead white/black to the
negative (-) lead of the speaker does the same with the Grey and Grey/Black
for the right front speaker (if you are using a 4-channel amp you will do the
same for the Green and Green/Black the left rear speaker and the Purple and
the Purple/Black to the right rear speaker).

NOTE: SPECIAL SIGNAL GROUND For High Level (speaker input) connection DO NOT CONNECT to normal high power head units. This is a special signal ground for vehicles that have speakers referenced to chassis ground. This means only a positive wire goes to the speaker connection. NO ground wire is connected if your vehicle has this setup, use this wire. Otherwise, DO NOT USE!!!!
(The RBK remote Bass Knob is an optional part that can be purchased from any authorized Cerwin-Vega Mobile retailer)
