  • Always be certain that the electric current is turned off before cleaning.
  • Only a soft damp cloth should be used. Harsh cleaning products may damage the finish.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE:
Thread locking compound must be applied to threads as noted with (4) symbol to prevent accidental rotation of fixture during cleaning, relamping, etc.

  1. Find the appropriate threaded holes on the mounting strap[C] that align with the hole distance in the canopy[G]. Assemble mounting screws[D] into threaded holes starting from the outlet box side.

  2. Attach the mounting strap to the outlet box[A] using the supplied strap mounting screws[B]. The mounting strap can be adjusted to suit the position of the fixture.

  3. Rotate the upper fixture arms up 90 degrees into position as shown (Fig. 1).
NOTE: Sockets[L] should all face upward when in the final position.

  4. Screw a long threaded tube[P] into coupling[Q] (on the main body[H]).
NOTE: Long threaded tube should be screwed into the coupling completely, and the hex nut near the end of the long threaded tube should be snug against the coupling.

  5. Lower decorative tube[I] down over long threaded tube, carefully passing threads on the end of the long threaded tube[P] through a hole in the top of the decorative tube. Carefully seat the decorative tube on top of the fixture.

  6. Screw round coupling[M] onto threads protruding from the top of the decorative tube. Tighten the round coupling to secure the decorative tube in place.
NOTE: The 6-inch stem that is preinstalled to the round coupling must be used when mounting the fixture. The 6-inch stem that is preinstalled to the round coupling should NOT be removed from the round coupling.

  7. Pass fixture wires through the desired number of additional short threaded tubes[N] and stems[J]. Screw stems together using short threaded tubes.

  8. Pass fixture wires from the last stem through loop[K]. Screw loop onto the end of the last stem.

  9. Connect the loop on the end of the stem(s) to the loop attached to the bottom of the canopy with a chain link[O]. Close the open chain link by placing a piece of cloth over the link and using a pair of pliers to gently squeeze the link closed.

  10. Pass fixture wires through the loop (attached to the bottom of the canopy), and into the canopy.

  11. Cut fixture wires a MINIMUM of 20 inches from the top edge of the canopy.

  12. Attach safety cable[E] to the mounting strap or the inside of the outlet box and secure it into place to prevent damage to the wires during wiring.

  13. Grounding instructions: (See Illus. a or b).

    • a. On fixtures where the mounting strap is provided with a hole and two raised dimples, wrap ground wire from the outlet box around the green ground screw, and thread it into the hole.
    • b. On fixtures where a cupped washer is provided, attach the ground wire from the outlet box under the cupped washer and a green ground screw, read into the mounting strap.
If the fixture is provided with ground wire, connect the fixture ground wire to the outlet box ground wire with a wire connector after following the above steps. Never connect ground wire to black or white power supply wires.
  14. Make wire connections. Reference the chart below for correct connections and wire accordingly.
Connect Black or Red Supply Wire to:| Connect White Supply Wire to:

*Note: When parallel wire (SPT 1 & SPT 2) is used. The neutral wire is square shaped or ridged and the other wire will be round in shape or smooth (See illus.)|

  15. Raise the canopy to the ceiling, carefully passing mounting screws through mounting screw holes in the canopy.
NOTE: Be certain wires do not get pinched between the mounting strap and canopy or canopy and ceiling.

  16. While holding the canopy in place, use lock washers[R] and knobs[F] to secure the canopy. Tighten to secure.
