Product Information

The product is a light fixture that comes with a body assembly, coupler, shade frame, canopy, strap mounting screw, mounting strap, loop, open chain link, mounting screw, chain, lock-up knob, lock washer, shade, decorative stem assembly, and socket. The fixture is designed to be installed on an outlet box with a parallel cord (round & smooth) or a parallel cord (square & ridged) and is compatible with bulbs that are not supplied with the product.

Product Usage Instructions

1. Thread the decorative stem assembly into a coupler on the body assembly.
2. Attach one end of the chain to the top of the loop of the decorative stem assembly using an open chain link. Attach the other end of the chain to the loop using the other open chain link. To close an open chain link, place a piece of cloth over the open link and use a pair of pliers to gently squeeze the link closed.
3. Weave the fixture wires through chain links no more than 3 inches apart. Pass fixture wires through the loop and into the canopy.
4. Cut fixture wires a minimum of 20 inches from the top edge of the canopy.
5. Find the appropriate threaded holes on the mounting strap that align with the hole distance in the canopy. Screw mounting screws into threaded holes starting from the outlet box side.
6. Attach the mounting strap to the outlet box using the strap mounting screws. The mounting strap can be adjusted to suit the position of the fixture.
7. Grounding instructions: Follow either of the two methods as shown in Illus. a or b. If the fixture is provided with a ground wire, connect the fixture ground wire to the outlet box ground wire with a wire connector after following the above steps. Never connect the ground wire to black or white power supply wires.
8. Make wire connections. Reference the chart in the instructions for correct connections and wire accordingly.
9. Raise the canopy to the ceiling, carefully passing mounting screws through mounting screw holes in the canopy. Make sure wires do not get pinched between the mounting plate and canopy or canopy and ceiling.
10. Secure the canopy using lock washers and lock-up knobs. Tighten lock-up knobs to secure the canopy to the ceiling.
11. Carefully slip a shade frame over a socket until seated on the socket base. Repeat for remaining shade frames.
12. Insert recommended bulbs (not supplied).

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Thread the decorative stem assembly [O] into the coupler [B] on the body assembly [A].

2. Attach one end of the chain [K] to the top of the loop of decorative stem assembly [O] using an open chain link [I]. Attach the other end of the chain [K] to loop [H] using the other open chain link [I].
   NOTE: To close an open chain link, place a piece of cloth (not supplied) over the open link and use a pair of pliers to gently squeeze the link closed.

3. Weave fixture wires through chain links no more than 3 inches apart. Pass fixture wires through loop [H] and into canopy [D].

4. Cut fixture wires a MINIMUM of 20 inches from the top edge of the canopy.

5. Find the appropriate threaded holes on the mounting strap [G] that align with the hole distance in the canopy [D]. Screw mounting screws [J] into threaded holes starting from the outlet box side.

6. Attach the mounting strap to the outlet box [F] using the strap mounting screws [E]. The mounting strap can be adjusted to suit the position of the fixture.

7. Grounding instructions: (See Illus. a or b).

   • On fixtures where the mounting strap is provided with a hole and two raised dimples, wrap ground wire from the outlet box around the green ground screw, and thread it into the hole.
   • On fixtures where a cupped washer is provided, attach the ground wire from the outlet box under the cupped washer and a green ground screw, and thread it into the mounting strap.
     If the fixture is provided with ground wire, connect the fixture ground wire to the outlet box ground wire with the wire connector after following the above steps. Never connect the ground wire to black or white power supply wires.

8. Make wire connections. Reference the chart below for correct connections and wire accordingly.
   *Note: When parallel wire (SPT 1 & SPT 2) is used. The neutral wire is square-shaped or ridged and the other wire will be round in shape or smooth (See Illus.)

9. Raise the canopy to the ceiling, carefully passing mounting screws [J] through mounting screw holes in the canopy.
   NOTE: Make sure wires do not get pinched between the mounting plate and canopy or canopy and ceiling.

10. Secure the canopy using lock washers [M] and lock-up knobs [L]. Tighten lock-up knobs to secure the canopy to the ceiling.

11. Carefully slip a shade frame [C] over a socket [P] until seated on the socket base. Repeat for remaining shade frames.

12. Insert recommended bulbs (not supplied).

13. Carefully lower a shade [N] over a shade frame until seated on the shade frame. Repeat for remaining shades.
