Powering the XCover6 Pro On/Off

The SKX6Pro does not have its own battery but rather uses power from the battery of the XCover6 Pro. The SKX6Pro works only when the XCover6 Pro is mounted into SKX6Pro SmartSled.

Power On the XCover6 Pro:
Press and hold the SIDE key for 3 seconds.

Power Off XCover6 Pro:
Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and SIDE keys simultaneously. Alternatively, open the notification panel and tap.

Basic Operation

1. Aim the SKX6Pro toward the barcode and press either of the SCAN buttons located on each side of the device. You can scan the barcode from any direction.
2. A successful scan will sound 1 beep. An unsuccessful scan will sound 2 beeps.
   Additionally, you can select between the SKX6Pro buzzer or an XCover6 Pro generated tone/beep within the KTSync SKX app when in USB serial mode. (Setting>Feedback>Tone Generator)
   The XCover6 Pro tone/beep volume can be adjusted by the media volume control setting on the XCover6 Pro. (Phone Settings>Sounds and Vibration>Volume>Media)

USB Interfaces

The SKX6Pro features two USB Type-C connectors. The first connector is located on the inside of the SKX6 Pro and provides a USB connection to the XCover6 Pro. The second connector is located on the outside of the SKX6Pro and is used to access the SKX6Pro. Use this port if you want to connect the XCover6 Pro to a PC by scanning the special QR code below:

Connectivity Options
The default communication method for the SKX6Pro is HID. If you prefer to use the SKX6Pro in serial mode, please refer to the barcodes in the next panel.

• Allows one-way USB communication. The SKX6Pro only transmits data to the XCover6 Pro.
• Allows two-way USB communication. The SKX6 Pro transmits data to the XCover6 Pro application, and the XCover6 Pro application can transmit data/control back to the SKX6Pro.

HID inputs data directly into an application, while serial requires KTSync or custom application developed using the KOAMTAC SDK to input data into an application.

Using HID Keyboard or Serial Mode

The HID keyboard allows you to use your SKX6Pro as a keyboard. This option is only available when SKX6Pro is set to HID Mode. To put the SKX6Pro into HID mode, please scan the QR code below:

SKX6Pro Software & SDK

KTSync SKX is a program which communicates with the SKX6Pro via USB serial connection. It enables users to read and store data, supports keyboard wedging, and also contains configuration options for the SKX6Pro. Download the KTSync SKX app from the Google Play Store.

The Software Development Kit (SDK) is the perfect solution for creating a custom application to collect data utilizing your SKX6Pro. The KOAMTAC SDK covers all major development platforms: Android, Windows, Xamarin, Cordova, and React Native. Developers may take advantage of the complimentary SDK and enjoy the full benefits of the KOAMTAC Developer Program. Using KTSync SKX

You can use the KTSync SKX app to utilize your SKX6Pro alone or with a native application (only in USB serial mode). The KTSync SKX app can be found on the Google Play Store.

1. Open the application and the SKX6Pro will be recognized and automatically connected.
2. KTSync SKX will automatically detect the firmware version, and if outdated, the firmware will be updated.
3. Scan any barcode with the SKX6Pro and the barcode data will populate into the KTSync internal viewer.
4. Or, you can set up SKX6Pro as a keyboard:
   • a) With the KTSync SKX app running in the background, navigate the XCover6 Pro to: (Settings > General management > Language and input > On-screen keyboard > Manage keyboards)
   • b) Tap on “SKX Keyboard” to enable it.
   • c) Make “SKX Keyboard” the default keyboard.
   • d) Scan any barcode with the SKX6Pro and the barcode data will populate into the text field of the app you’re using.
