How to Find Ethernet / Blueooth / WiFi Mac Address

Mac addresses can be useful to identify devices on your network as well as for troubleshooting and blocking network connections. For the most common devices, the instructions to locate the mac address are as follows:

Note, many devices will have multiple MAC addresses, one for each ‘network’ interface including WiFi (5G), WiFi (2.4G), Bluetooth, and Ethernet. You can lookup a Mac address to find the manufacturer via MAC.lc

MAC Lookup

Apple Devices

  1. Open the  Settings menu by selecting the  gear icon.
  2. Select  General.
  3. Select  About.
  4. Find the MAC address in the  WiFi Address  field.

Android Devices

  1. Open the  Settings menu by selecting the  gear icon.
  2. Select  About Phone.
  3. Select  Status.
  4. Find the MAC address in the  WiFi MAC Address  field.

Windows Phone

  1. Open the apps list and select  Settings.
  2. Go to  System Settings  and select  About.
  3. Find the MAC address in the  More Info  section.

Macintosh/Apple (OSX)

  1. Select the  Spotlight icon in the top-right corner of the screen, then type  Network Utility  in the  Spotlight Search  field.
  2. From the list, select  Network Utility.
  3. Within the  Info tab, find the network interface drop-down.
    • If your device is connected to your Wireless Gateway using a cable, select  Ethernet.
    • If your device is connected wirelessly, select  AirPort/Wi-Fi.
  4. Locate the MAC address in the  Hardware Address  field.

Windows PC

  1. Select the  Start button. In the search bar, type  CMD and select  Enter.
    • Note:  If you’re a Windows 8 or 10 user, you can find this option by going to the right sidebar and searching for  Command Prompt.
  2. Select  Command Prompt.
  3. Type ‘ipconfig/all’, then select  Enter.
  4. Find the MAC address in the  Physical Address  field.
    • If your device is connected to your Wireless Gateway using a cable, this will be listed under  Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection.
    • If your device is connected wirelessly, this will be listed under  Ethernet Adapter Wireless Network Connection.

PlayStation 3

  1. Select  Settings.
  2. Select  System Settings.
  3. Find the MAC address within  System Information.

PlayStation 4

  1. Select  Up on the D-Pad from the main screen.
  2. Select  Settings.
  3. Select  Network.
  4. Find the MAC address within  View Connection Status.

Xbox 360

  1. From the home menu, go to  Settings.
  2. Select  System Settings.
  3. Select  Network Settings.
  4. Select  Wired Network  within the listed available networks.
  5. Select  Configure Network  and go to  Additional Settings.
  6. Select  Advanced Settings.
  7. Find the MAC address within  Alternative MAC Address.

Xbox One

  1. From the home menu, go to  Settings.
  2. Select  Network.
  3. Find the MAC address within  Advanced Settings.
