How do I reconnect my DIRECTV HD DVR to the Internet?

Step 1
Check that your Ethernet cable is connected to your Genie®/HD DVR and Internet
router. When you’re ready, select Test Connection if prompted. Note: This
may take a few moments, so give it some time.
If you’re having trouble reconnecting, select Back on the remote to try
connecting with a wireless option.
Still can’t reconnect?
Restart your router– unplug it for a few seconds, then plug it back in.
Contact your Internet service provider. If AT&T is your Internet service
provider, you can quickly test your line or find out if there’s an outage
here.

Push Button Setup/WPS allows you to reconnect your Genie® or HD DVR to your Wi-Fi network automatically. All you have to do is push the WPS button on your wireless router.
Step 1
Select Set Up Wireless.
Step 2
Press on your remote.
Step 3
Go to your wireless router and find the WPS button. It should look like this:
Press the WPS button and your receiver will automatically connect to the
Internet.
_ Note: This may take a few moments, so give it some time.
_If you’re having trouble connecting automatically, select Back on the
remote to select your Wi-Fi network and enter your password.
