“Preparing” is the process of putting a mobile version of the recorded program onto your mobile device so you can watch it anywhere, without an Internet connection. This will take the same amount of time to complete as the program’s run time. (For example: A one-hour program will take at least 1 hour to prepare)
Once a program is prepared, it can be downloaded to your device in a few minutes
Note: downloads must take place in-home.
By setting Auto Prepare to ON, the DVR will automatically process a mobile version of the recorded program so it’s ready for download when you are. Keep in mind that setting “Auto Prepare” to ON can decrease your DVR capacity by up to 15%. However, downloading programs becomes significantly faster and easier when “Auto Prepare” is set to ON.
