The DIRECTV Universal remote does much more than change channels and adjust the volume. It gives you total control over your DIRECTV system.
MENU on your DIRECTV remote will access the main DIRECTV menu on your TV screen. From there, you can search for programs by title, person, and keywords. The DIRECTV universal remote can also control system settings, manage recordings, and more.
The color buttons on the DIRECTV remote are special shortcuts, whose functions change depending on what you’re watching. In many cases, that function is explained in a guide located on the lower right of your TV screen.
