WARNING:
All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging locks, removable tags, cable ties, cords and packaging screws are not part of this toy and should be discarded for your child’s safety.

NOTE: Please keep this Parent’s Guide as it contains important information.

Removing the Packaging Locks

  1. Rotate the packaging lock anticlockwise for 90 degrees.
  2. Pull out the packaging lock.
  3. Rotate the packaging lock 90 degrees anticlockwise.
  4. Pull out the packaging lock and discard.

GETTING STARTED

Battery Removal and Installation

  1. Make sure that the unicorn is turned Off.
  2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the unicorn. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and remove the cover.
  3. If used batteries are present, remove these batteries from the unit by pulling up on one end of each battery.
  4. Install 4 new AA (LR6/AM-3) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. For best performance, alkaline batteries or fully charged Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are recommended.
  5. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.

WARNING: Adult assembly required for battery installation. Keep batteries out of reach of children.

IMPORTANT: BATTERY INFORMATION

  • Insert batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -).
  • Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable batteries.
  • Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
  • Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
  • Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
  • Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
  • Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of batteries in fire.

RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES:

  • Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging.
  • Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
  • Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.

Disposal of batteries and product

The crossed-out wheelie bin symbols on products and batteries, or on their respective packaging, indicates they must not be disposed of in domestic waste as they contain substances that can be damaging to the environment and human health. The chemical symbols Hg, Cd or Pb, where marked, indicate that the battery contains more than the specified value of mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead (Pb) set out in the Batteries and Accumulators Regulation. The solid bar indicates that the product was placed on the market after 13th August, 2005. Help protect the environment by disposing of your product or batteries responsibly. VTech® cares for the planet. Care for the environment and give your toy a second life by disposing of it at a small electricals collection point so all its materials can be recycled. In the UK: Visit www.recyclenow.com to see a list of collection points near you. In Australia & New Zealand: Check with your local council for kerbside collections.

NOTE
This product is in Try-Me mode in the packaging. To activate Normal Play mode, please follow these steps.

  1. Turn the unit On.
  2. Place Fairy Luna on the MagicPoint™ location.
  3. When you hear two short sounds, normal game play has been activated.

PRODUCT FEATURES

  1. 1. Off/Low/High Volume Switch To turn the unit On, slide the switch to either the Low Volume ( ) or High Volume ( ) position. To turn the unit Off, slide the switch to the Off ( ) position.

  2. Heart Button
    Press the Heart Button to hear Twinkle sing, talk, move her head, walk and flap her wings. Listen and interact with Twinkle to enjoy fun and imaginative role-play situations with motion, lights and more!

  3. MagicPointTM Location
    There is one MagicPointTM located on the unit. Place the MagicPointTM character onto the MagicPointTMlocation to hear fun responses. The MagicPointTM location can also interact with other VTech® Toot-Toot FriendsTM characters (each sold separately).

  4. Sound Sensor
    There is one Sound Sensor installed in the unit. The Sound Sensor can receive sounds. Follow Twinkle’s instructions by casting magic spells, clapping your hands, and waving the magic wand to enjoy fun situations.

  5. Magic Wand
    Listen to Twinkle and wave the Magic Wand when she says to trigger fun sounds with motion, music and lights.

  6. Automatic Shut Off
    To preserve battery life, the VTech® Toot-Toot FriendsTM My Magical Unicorn will automatically power down after several minutes of no input. The unit can be turned on again by sliding the Off/Low/High Volume Switch to the Low Volume or High Volume position, or by pressing the Heart Button.

NOTE
If the unit powers down while playing, we suggest installing a brand new set of batteries.

ACTIVITIES

Slide the Off/Low/High Volume Switch to either the Low Volume or High Volume position to turn the unit on.

  1. Press the Heart Button to hear Twinkle sing, talk, shake her head, walk and flap her wings. Her horn will also light up in multiple colours.
  2. Place Fairy Luna onto the MagicPoint™ location to her sing and talk.
  3. Sometimes, Twinkle will ask for your help. You can interact by pressing the Heart Button, placing Fairy Luna onto the Magic Point™ location, clapping your hands, casting a magic spell or waving the Magic Wand.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

  1. Keep the product and its metal parts clean by wiping them with a slightly damp cloth.
  2. Keep the product out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat sources.
  3. Remove the batteries when the product is not in use for an extended period of time.
  4. Do not drop the product on a hard surface and do not expose the product to excess moisture or water.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If for some reason the toy stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:

  1. Turn the unit Off. If the toy still does not function, or if for some reason the toy stops working or malfunctions on its own, please follow these steps:
  2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
  3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
  4. Turn the unit On. The unit should now be ready to use again.
  5. If the unit still does not work, install a new set of batteries.
