CAUTION
- The installation of the XZENT system should be carried out by an authorized installer. Specific knowledge and tools are required to do the installation. Incorrect installation can cause damage to the vehicle and the XZENT system.
- Correct functioning can only be guaranteed when you use the XZENT original accessories included in the kit or optionally available. The XZENT system and the original accessories must under no circumstance be modified or altered in any way. Inappropriate actions can cause damage to the vehicle and the XZENT system.
NOTE

The target vehicle must be equipped with the (Panasonic) 1-DIN DAB/FM OE radio. The XZENT system is not compatible with vehicles that are equipped with an
ex works OE navigation system. -
This device installation manual applies to vehicle platforms appearing in the above compatibility list, and in a condition as offered by the respective vehicle manufacturer. Deviating equipment and specific adjustments to battery-, charging systems and power harness layout implemented by the given motorhome manufacturer brand are not taken into account in these installation instructions. If you have questions or vehicle-specific problems please contact the relevant motorhome manufacturer.

The DAB+ and FM tuners are connected directly to the original rod antenna of the vehicle using the antenna cable adaptor included in the set content.
For vehicles that are not listed in the compatibility list above, a suitable DAB/FM roof antenna to be connected to the XZENT system may be required, which is not included in the scope of delivery. -
The original multifunction steering wheel controls of compatible vehicle models are supported by the XZENT system. No further accessories are required.

Software updates to the XZENT system are installed with a USB memory device. Therefore make sure when fitting the system, that the USB connection of the XZENT system is accessible later on (by installation of the USB extension cable).

REMOVAL WORK AND PREPARATION
- The 1-DIN DAB / FM factory radio must first be removed for the instal-lation of the X-F285 device. Insert the release keys contained in the accessory set into the respective openings in the front panel of the 1-DIN factory radio. (ill. on the left).
- Press both keys – without force into their mechanical backstop.
- Grab both unlocking keys and release the device with slight vertical up and down movements.
Use the keys to pull the device out of the slot.
INSTALLATION
4. Disconnect the plugs of the pow-er/loudspeaker, antenna and USB connector
cables on the backside of the 1-DIN radio.
5. Put the device aside. It is no longer needed in the further course of the
install of the X-F285 infotainer unit.
6. Prepare the plugs of the cables from the vehicle as shown in the
illustration.
7. First, plug in the USB interface cable of the accessory set.
8. Plug in the Fakra end of the antenna cable (no. 14) into the Fakra plug of
the vehicleside antenna cable.
Fit the GPS antenna in a suitable place, and make sure that the GPS reception
is not adversely affected due to shadowing by metallic vehicle parts (thermal
glazing etc.). Next run the connecting cable to the radio slot and connect it
to the device.
9. Now connect the main wiring harness to the main connector of the vehicle.
If you wish to use the external Bluetooth microphone supplied with the set,
mount it now. Run the mic cable to the radio slot. Depending on preference and
your choice of an external or device- internal microphone, the microphone
source for the Bluetooth mode must be changed in the device menu.10. Check the fit of
the connectors. Make sure that the main connector is properly inserted.
11. Now plug in the SWC/CAN interface (No. 13) into the connector provided on
the main wiring harness. Stow away the SWC/CAN box at the top left corner of
the slot. Put the cables out the way in the slot, there is enough space on the
left and right side.
12. Connect all connectors of the cables on the backside of the device. Make
sure all connectors are properly inserted.
13. Hold the X-F285 device up in front of the slot and stow away cables.
Insert the device into the 1-DIN slot and push it into the slot gently. Once
the device body is comple-tely inserted reaching its end stop, wiggle the
device up and down upon it should click into place.
Tip
To facilitate the routing of cables in the mounting slot, uninstalling the
tablet holder gives direct access to the 1-DIN slot from above.
NOTE
- Make sure that all connectors at the rear of the unit have sufficient room and are not bent.
- The power supply for the active antenna must be made sure. Pay particular attention that P.ANT lead connectors of the main harness are connected together.
- Connectors without a retaining mechanism should be secured with fabric tape.
COMMISSIONING
Make sure that the vehicle is outside, and that the GPS reception is not
adversely affected by any shadowing (trees, high buildings etc.). Now insert
the seperately purchased navigation software SD card into the SD card slot of
the XZENT system, and start it in order to establish a sat fix. Make sure that
the vehicle is not moved until the sat fix is established. Now press the NAV
button to start the navigation mode, and choose map view. Once your present
location can be seen in the map view the sat fix will be automatically
established. This can take 3 to 5 minutes. You can now use the XZENT system.
Finally carry out a general functional test, and make the basic settings. Also ensure that no fault warnings appear on the vehicle side.
