X-F270 Installation + Configuration for FIAT Ducato III, Series 8 vehicles
(from Q3_2021)
INSTRUCTION
Mounting frame for FIAT Ducato III, Series 8 vehicles
The separately available mounting frame N-XFDUC8 is required for installing
the X-F270.
This mounting frame replaces the two-piece metal mounting frame set supplied
with the X-F270 device. The mounting frame N-XFDUC8 is pushed onto the X-F270
device via its back end. Next, frame is affixed to device applying two M5x6
screws on left and right side.
This pre-assembled combo is used to replace the ex-works mounted frame of the
vehicle with “radio preparation”.
Connection of steering wheel buttons (analog signals, via red mini-ISO
connector)
The rear steering wheel buttons (3 buttons each on the left and right side)
are connected to the device via mini-ISO connector, which connects Key1/2/GND
over the adapter cable supplied with the X-F270.
The telephone buttons on the front side of the steering wheel are only present as LIN bus signals in separate non accessible wires, which prevents telephone button function integration over the existing analogue wiring. Integration of Telephone buttons is solved with a “double function assignment” of the rear MUTE button, allowing to accept and end calls over the MUTE control button located on the steering wheel backside.
The X-F270 device must feature v2.5 software version and up and use of device
with Series 8 vehicles requires manual mode switching from MODE1 to MODE 2.
With MODE 2 set, device must be restarted to apply the setup change.
MODE 1 / MODE 2 setup can be found under:
Settings > Other > SWC Assignment > Mode 2 (see picture).
INSTALLATION
If desired, the telephone buttons on the front side of the steering wheel can be mapped to the device via separately available SWC interface modules available from different suppliers. See instructions that come with the interface, for supported button functions and connection to the IR-In of the XZENT X-F270 (like for example “N-XFDUC8-SWC1”).
