Instruction for Use
Before First ‘ ” Before using the kettle for the first time, wipe it clean
with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Do not immerse the kettle in water
or any other liquid. Fill the kettle to the max. fill mark and boil the water,
following the instructions in the section entitled ‘Using the Skandi Jug
Kettle’. After the water has boiled, pour it away. If any slight taste or
odour remains in the boiled water, repeat this process.
Note : When using the kettle for the first time, a slight odour may be
emitted. This is normal and will soon subside. Allow for sufficient
ventilation around the kettle.
Warning : The kettle and any accessories are not suitable for dishwasher
use.
Using the ug Kern,
STEP 1: Position the power base onto a flat, stable, heat-resistant
surface at a height that is comfortable for the user.
STEP 2: Remove the kettle from the power base.
STEP 3: Remove the pull-top lid
STEP 4: Fill the kettle to desired water level, using the water fill
gauge on the back of the kettle as a guide. The water level must be between
the Min. fill mark and the Max. fill mark.
STEP 5: Return the pull-top lid until it clicks securely shut and then
place the kettle back onto the power base.
STEP 6: Plugin and switch on the kettle at the mains power supply.
STEP 7: Push the power switch downwards until it clicks; the power switch
will illuminate to indicate that it is switched on. Do not touch the body of
the kettle during use. STEP 8: Once the kettle has boiled, the power
switch will automatically flip upwards into the off position, causing the blue
light to switch off.
STEP 9: Once the water has stopped boiling vigorously, lift the kettle by
the handle and pour out the desired amount of water from the spout. Do not
pour the water too quickly, as this may cause it to trickle down the side of
the kettle.
Caution : Allow the kettle to cool thoroughly before touching or opening
the pull-top lid.
Do not use the kettle if the base or any of the electrical connectors are wet.
Do not attempt to dry these whilst the kettle is plugged in. If the power
switch will not stay clicked into the on position, do not force it to stay
down. This may cause excess steam to escape from the lid, damage to the
automatic shut-off mechanism, or injury to the user. The body and lid of the
kettle get very hot during use. Do not touch any part of the kettle except the
handle whilst it is in use or filled with hot water.
To avoid spilling water or user injury, wait for vigorous boiling to subside
before lifting the kettle or pouring water.
Warning : The pull-top lid may spray water if taken off after boiling —
allow the kettle to cool before opening the pull-top lid.
Storage
The kettle must be cool, clean, and dry before storing in a cool, dry place. Never wrap the cord tightly around the kettle; wrap it loosely to avoid causing damage.
