It is important for you to read and understand this manual. The information it contains relates to protecting YOUR SAFETY and PREVENTING PROBLEMS. The symbols below are used to help you recognize this information.

CAUTION: Indicates an potentially hazardous situation, which if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury and/or property damage.

NOTICE: Used without the safety alert symbol indicates potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in property damage.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:

SAVE ALL WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE

WARNING: Always unplug the sharpener before cleaning or emptying the receptacle.
WARNING: Never submerge your sharpener in water, plugged or unplugged.
WARNING: The power unit is intended to be correctly orientated in a vertical or floor mount position.
WARNING: Changes or modifications not expressly approved by Goods iQ could void the user’s authority to operate this device.
WARNING: Never pull on chord to turn the sharpener off. Instead take hold of the plug an pull it slowly out of the outlet.
CAUTION: As with all electrical appliances, keep out of reach of small children.

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Make sure the receptacle is in place and tightly closed before operating your sharpener
  • Empty the receptacle on a regular basis. The pencil sharpener will not operate properly when full
  • Do not sharpen writing instruments such as crayons or chalk as they will clog your sharpener’s cutters

HOW TO USE YOUR BOSTITCH® ELECTRIC PENCIL SHARPENER:

  1. Insert AC plug into the nearest, easily accessible 120 volt outlet.
  2. Insert pencil into the opening. Motor will start automatically.
  3. The “Tip Saver™” feature indicates that your pencil is sharpened by a change in motor sound and by a decreased resistance. Do not force the pencil any further.
  4. Remove sharpened pencil from the sharpener to prevent motor damage

THREE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

Effective January 1, 2021, Goods iQ warrants to the original retail purchaser that the product purchased is free from defects in material and workmanship, and agrees to repair or replace, at Goods iQ’s option, any defective Bostitch® branded pencil sharpeners three (3) years from the date of purchase. Warranty is not transferable. Proof of purchase date required. This warranty covers only damage resulting from defects in material or workmanship; it does not cover conditions or malfunctions resulting from normal wear, neglect, abuse, accident, or repairs attempted or made by other than our national repair center or authorized warranty service centers. You are responsible for the costs of shipping the defective product to Goods iQ.

THIS WARRANTY IS THE EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY OF GOODS IQ, AND IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURCHASE. GOODS IQ SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

Some states and countries do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state and country to country.
