Functions

(1) Standard universal blades and (8) frozen food blades
The serrated stainless steel blades are durable and sharp.

  • Use the standard universal blades for fruit and vegetables, bread, sausage, cake and cooked meat.
  • Use the freezer blades for frozen meat, partially thawed or lightly frozen food. This blade is not suitable for deep frozen food (frozen for more than 10 hours), bones, stones or other hard substances.

Blade release button
The blades can be released using only one hand (by pressing both buttons with your thumb and index finger).

Safety lock button & On / Off switch
Both buttons are located under the handle for safe, simple use.

Ergonomic handle
The ergonomic design provides comfort and control when carving.

Stand
When the knife is placed on a table or countertop, it stands so that the blades are always facing the surface.

Safety guards
Blades are inserted and removed here.

Using your electric knife

  1. Fit the blades together before inserting them into the device. To assemble the blades, hold them below the safety guards and slip the rivet on one blade into the slot in the other (see Diagram 1). Bring the blades together, ensuring that their points remain aligned.
NOTE: Always use both blades when operating the electric knife.

  2. Hold the blades by the safety guards and slide the shafts into the blade aperture until they click into position (see Diagram 2). Test the blades. If they do not move, they are properly fixed.

WARNING: Only when the blades are fitted should the cord be connected to the power socket.

  1. Insert the plug into a 220-240V (AC only) power socket and ensure that the cord is kept well away from the blades. Holding the knife with one hand, press the safety switch and then press the On/Off button to operate the knife. Releasing the switch will automatically stop the knife.

WARNING: Avoid contact with the moving parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing and other utensils away from blades during operation to prevent injury or damage.

  1. When you have finished using the knife, turn the power off at the socket and remove the plug immediately. Hold the blade release buttons, take the blades by the safety guards and remove them from the slots.

WARNING: The blades are sharp! Handle them with extreme care. We recommend using the guard sleeve provided when handling the blades. Do not fit or remove blades while the knife is connected to a power socket. Do not allow children to operate the appliance.
NOTE: Do not use the appliance for more than 7 minutes continuously. Ensure that the knife has cooled to room temperature before using it again. This may take up to 30 minutes.

Care and cleaning

WARNING: Ensure that the unit is switched off and unplugged before removing the blades or cleaning the appliance.

Unlock the blades by sliding them apart. Always hold the blades behind the safety guard when handling and cleaning. Wash the blades in warm soapy water with a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.

Do not use abrasive scouring pads or powders on the blades. After cleaning, always store the blades in the plastic sleeves provided. Clean the blade handle with a soft, damp cloth.

Handwash only. Not dishwasher safe.

Care and cleaning

Slicing hints

  • Always place food to be sliced on a wooden or plastic chopping board. Do not slice food on china, metal or countertops, as surfaces may be scratched. It will not be necessary to saw at the food or force the blades through it.
  • Do not attempt to sharpen the blades. To maintain blades, do not cut through frozen foods, bones, stones or similarly hard substances.
  • For best results when carving, allow the cooked meat to stand for 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to settle and makes carving easier and less messy.
  • Before carving meat or chicken, remove skewers. You can leave the string around the meat. A carving fork can help you to carve even slices.
