Product Information

The Bosch Power Tools AL 1830 CV and AL 1880 CV are chargers designed for use with Bosch Li-ion batteries or PBA 18V POWER FOR ALL system batteries. They feature automatic voltage detection for efficient charging. The AL 1830 CV has a charging current of 3.0 A, while the AL 1880 CV has a charging current of 8.0 A.

Safety Instructions

  • Use the charger in enclosed spaces and protect it from wet conditions to prevent electric shock.
  • Keep the charger clean to avoid the risk of electric shock.
  • Inspect the charger, cable, and plug for any damage before use. Do not use a damaged charger.
  • Do not operate the charger on easily ignited surfaces or in flammable environments to prevent fire hazards.
  • Do not cover the ventilation slots of the charger to prevent overheating.
  • Only use the charger specified by the manufacturer to avoid fire risks.
  • In case of battery damage or improper use, ensure proper ventilation and seek medical attention if necessary.
  • Only charge Bosch Li-ion batteries or PBA 18V POWER FOR ALL system batteries with a capacity of 1.5 Ah. The battery voltage must match the battery charging voltage of the charger. Do not charge any non-rechargeable batteries. Otherwise there is a risk of fire and explosion.

Your product is fitted with an BS 1363/A approved electric plug with internal fuse (ASTA approved to BS 1362).
If the plug is not suitable for your socket outlets, it should be cut off and an appropriate plug fitted in its place by an authorised customer service agent. The replacement plug should have the same fuse rating as the original plug.
The severed plug must be disposed of to avoid a possible shock hazard and should never be inserted into a mains socket elsewhere.

Charging process

  • Pay attention to the mains voltage. The voltage of the power source must match the voltage specified on the rating plate of the charger. The charging process begins as soon as the mains plug for the charger is inserted into the mains socket and the battery is inserted into the charging bay (3).
  • The charging process is only possible when the temperature of the battery is within the permitted charging temperature range (0–45 °C).

Troubleshooting

Battery is not being charged

  • Battery is not being charged, the red indicator (1) is flashing and the green battery charge indicator (2) is lit up continuously.
  • Cause: The charger has identified an internal error.
  • Corrective measure: Ensure that all batteries are fully inserted. Remove the mains plug and reinsert. If the error occurs again, have the charger checked by an authorised after-sales service centre for Bosch power tools.

Indicators do not light up

None of the indicators are lighting up, battery will not be charged.
Cause: Plug socket, mains cable or battery charger defective
Corrective measure: Check the mains voltage. If necessary, have the charger checked by an authorised after-sales service centre.
