Increase battery life
My phone/tablet’s battery drains quickly and has a short standby time:
Problem:
- The phone/tablet’s battery drains quickly and has a short standby time.
Cause:
1. Too many apps are running in the background.
2. The phone/tablet settings have changed. For example, the screen brightness has changed, or the settings have changed after game updates.
3. The network environment has changed, for example, from an indoor Wi-Fi network to an outdoor cellular network.
4. The battery is aging.
Solution:
1. Manage apps running in the background.
a. Go to Settings > Battery. In the power consumption rankings of apps , tap an app, tap Launch settings , and then you can select Auto-launch , Secondary launch and Run in background as desired.
b. Go to Settings > Apps & services > Permission manager , touch the More options menu in the upper right corner, go to Special access > Battery optimization , and touch the apps one by one to change the setting from Don’t allow to Allow.
2. Try Power Saving mode.
a. Go to Settings > Display & brightness, enable automatic brightness adjustment, and set Screen resolution and refresh rate to Smart.
b. Go to Settings > Notifications , and touch Manage all to disable the notification permission for apps without important notifications.
c. If a long standby time is required, enable the Power Saving mode (by going to Settings > Battery > Power Saving mode ).
3.When the network signals are poor, Wi-Fi is preferred. (When maps are required, download the offline map data in advance and use the offline maps to help find your way.)
If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
Tackle freezing problems
My HUAWEI phone/tablet freezes, is slow, or the joystick does not work during gameplay:
1. Use a stable network
When you are playing a game, if the network signal color on the game screen turns yellow (indicating a poor network) or the real-time network speed is slow indicated by the status bar on your phone, the game may freeze or go offline. The suggestions are as follows:
- Play games over a Wi-Fi network.
- If you are using a non-Wi-Fi network, add the game to AppAssistant, and enable Zero Interruptions. This prevents incoming calls, SMS messages, and MMS messages from affecting network quality to ensure a better game experience.
- When you are surfing the Internet in a fixed place, to avoid network freezing caused by switching between Mobile network and Wi-Fi, you can search for and access Wi-Fi+ in Settings, and disable Wi-Fi+.
The operation is as follows:
- Display real-time network speed in the status bar: Open Settings, search for and enable Display network speed.
- Add games to AppAssistant: Open Settings, search for and access AppAssistant, select Game Space, add games by touching Add, enable Zero Interruptions (by touching Uninterrupted Gaming) in the lower right corner or upper left corner, and ensure that Game Acceleration is enabled.
2. Disable Power Saving mode
If your phone/tablet is in Power Saving mode, or has low battery level, it will degrade its performance to save battery power. It is recommended that you disable this mode and ensure that the battery level is higher than 20%. The operation is as follows:
Go to Optimizer/Tablet Manager > Battery (the battery icon in the lower left corner), and ensure that Power Saving mode is turned off.
3. Close apps running in the background or clear storage space
Running many apps at the same time will cause frame freezing. Before playing games, you can clear unnecessary apps to ensure that the system runs smoothly. The operation is as follows:
- Close background apps : Go to the recent tasks screen on your phone/tablet, and touch the trash can icon to close all apps running in the background.
- Clean up storage space : For details, please refer to A message is displayed indicating that the remaining storage space of my HUAWEI phone/tablet is insufficient to clear the storage space of your device.
4. Prevent the device from overheating
It is recommended that you fully charge your device before playing games. Playing games while charging your device may cause it to overheat, and cause the frame rate to decrease and the game to run slowly.
5. If the issue remains unresolved
If the issue remains unresolved or you encounter any difficulties, please contact the Huawei customer service hotline for assistance. We will do our best to address your needs.
Solve charging issues
Unable to charge a phone or tablet:
Check whether the charging port is functioning normally
Check whether the charging port of your phone or tablet is blocked, moldy,
corroded, or damaged. If so, take your phone or tablet to an authorized Huawei
Customer Service Center for assistance.
If your device has not been used for a long time
If your device hasn’t been used for a long time or hasn’t been charged in a
timely manner after being powered off due to a low battery level, or if the
battery overdischarges, your device may need more time to activate the
battery. It is recommended that you charge your device for at least 30 minutes
and then check whether it is charging successfully.
If your device stops charging when the battery reaches 80%
Some Huawei phone models have added the smart charging mode, which is a
battery protection mechanism powered by AI smart charging management that
effectively prolongs the battery lifespan. Refer to Phone or tablet stops
charging when the charging progress reaches 80%, and other FAQs related to
Smart Charge for troubleshooting.
Check the device’s temperature
Move to a warmer environment before charging. Your device will charge slowly
or won’t charge at all when the temperature falls below 10℃.
Use the charger that came with your device
Use the standard charger and charging cable. There may be a compatibility
issue between non-Huawei chargers and your phone or tablet, resulting in the
phone or tablet being unable to charge.
Perform cross-verification
Try using a charger and charging cable that can charge other devices normally
to charge your device to check whether your charger and charging cable are
faulty.
If the charger and charging cable are functioning normally but the phone or tablet still cannot be charged, the device may be faulty. Back up important data, then bring your device, charger, charging cable, and proof of purchase to a nearby Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
