PRECAUTIONS BEFORE USE

KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN MIND:

  1. Do not cover or block any ventilation openings. When placing the device on a shelf, leave 5 cm (2”) free space around the whole device.
  2. Install in accordance with the supplied user manual.
  3. Keep the device away from heat sources such as radiators, heaters, stoves, candles and other heat-generating products or naked flame. The device can only be used in moderate climates. Extremely cold or warm environments should be avoided. Working temperature between 0° and 35° C.
  4. Avoid using the device near strong magnetic fields.
  5. Electrostatic discharge can disturb normal usage of this device. If so, simply reset and restart the device following the instruction manual. During file transmission, please handle with care and operate in a static-free environment.
  6. Warning! Never insert an object into the product through the vents or openings. High voltage flows through the product and inserting an object can cause electric shock and/or short circuit internal parts. For the same reason, do not spill water or liquid on the product.
  7. Do not use in wet or moist areas such as bathrooms, steamy kitchens or near swimming pools.
  8. The device shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and make sure that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, are placed on or near the apparatus.
  9. Do not use this device when condensation may occur. When the unit is used in a warm wet room with damp, water droplets or condensation may occur inside the unit and the unit may not function properly; let the unit stand in power OFF for 1 or 2 hours before turning on the power: the unit should be dry before getting any power.
  10. Although this device is manufactured with the utmost care and checked several times before leaving the factory, it is still possible that problems may occur, as with all electrical appliances. If you notice smoke, an excessive build-up of heat or any other unexpected phenomena, you should disconnect the plug from the main power socket immediately.
  11. This device must operate on a power source as specified on the specification label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply used in your home, consult your dealer or local power company.
  12. Keep away from animals. Some animals enjoy biting on power cords.
  13. To clean the device, use a soft dry cloth. Do not use solvents or petrol-based fluids. To remove severe stains, you may use a damp cloth with dilute detergent.
  14. The supplier is not responsible for damage or lost data caused by malfunction, misuse, modification of the device or battery replacement.
  15. Do not interrupt the connection when the device is formatting or transferring files. Otherwise, data may be corrupted or lost.
  16. If the unit has USB playback function, the USB memory stick should be plugged into the unit directly. Don’t use an USB extension cable because it can cause interference resulting in failing of data.
  17. The rating label has been marked on the bottom or back panel of the device.
  18. This device is not intended for use by people (including children) with physical, sensory or mental disabilities, or a lack of experience and knowledge, unless they’re under supervision or have received instructions about the correct use of the device by the person who is responsible for their safety.
  19. This product is intended for non-professional use only and not for commercial or industrial use.
  20. Make sure the unit is adjusted to a stable position. Damage caused by using this product in an unstable position vibrations or shocks or by failure to follow any other warning or precaution contained within this user manual will not be covered by warranty.
  21. Never remove the casing of this device.
  22. Never place this device on other electrical equipment.
  23. Do not allow children access to plastic bags.
  24. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  25. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the device has been damaged in any way, such as the power supply cord or the plug, when liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the device, when the device has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
  26. Long exposure to loud sounds from personal music players may lead to temporary or permanent hearing loss.
  27. If the product is delivered with power cable or AC power adaptor:
    • If any trouble occurs, disconnect the AC power cord and refer servicing to qualified personnel.
    • To completely disconnect the power input, the mains plug of the apparatus shall be disconnected from the mains, as the disconnect device is the mains plug of apparatus.
    • Don’t step on or pinch the power adaptor. Be very careful, particularly near the plugs and the cable’s exit point. Do not place heavy items on the power adaptor, which may damage it. Keep the entire device out of children’s reach! When playing with the power cable, they can seriously injure themselves.
    • Unplug this device during lightning storms or when unused for a long period.
    • The socket outlet must be installed near the equipment and must be easily accessible.
    • Do not overload ac outlets or extension cords. Overloading can cause fire or electric shock.
    • Devices with class 1 construction should be connected to a main socket outlet with a protective earthed connection.
    • Devices with class 2 construction do not require an earthed connection.
    • Always hold the plug when pulling it out of the main supply socket. Do not pull the power cord. This can cause a short circuit.
    • Do not use a damaged power cord or plug or a loose outlet. Doing so may result in fire or electric shock.
  28. If the product contains or is delivered with a remote-control containing coin / cell batteries: Warning:
    • “Do not ingest battery, Chemical Burn Hazard” or equivalent working.

Remote Control

  1. OSC: To access On Screen Control Menu.

  2. STANDBY: Turn the machine’s sleep state on or off.

  3. MODE: Switch between Blu-ray Disc and AV IN.

  4. REPEAT: Repeat mode is different according to disc type.

    • BD/DVD: Repeat chapter > Repeat track > Repeat All >
    • Repeat Off. (Not supported by every BD.)
    • CD/VCD: Repeat track > Repeat all > Repeat Off.
    • Playlist: Repeat file > Repeat playlist > Repeat Off.
  5. MEDIA CENTER: Open files on USB or SD card (only if no BD or DVD is playing.)

  6. VOL-: Decreases volume.

  7. UP: Navigates through the menu.

  8. TOP MENU: Open the main menu of a BD/DVD.

  9. OK: Confirms an entry or selection.

Operating with the remote control

  1. The remote control must point at the remote sensor in order for the DVD player to function correctly.
  2. The remote works best at a distance less than 5 meters and at an angle of up to +/-30° toward the front of the unit.
  3. There should be no obstacles in between the remote control and the remote sensor on the main unit.

Quick Starting Guide

  1. Connecting to an External Power Source
    Connect the power adapter (supplied with the player) to the side input and to a wall outlet. Do not use any other device other than specified by your dealer.

  2. Open the screen panel.
    The screen panel of the portable DVD opens to a maximum 180°. And it can rotate 270°.

  3. Press the OPEN button in the center to open the disc cover.

  4. Insert a Blu-ray disc or DVD with the label side facing upwards.
    Align the center of the DVD disc with the center of the disc slot. Press the DVD gently down to snap the disc into place, then close the disc cover.

  5. Slide the power switch on the right side of the unit towards you to power it on.

  6. Lenco-BRP-1150-Portable-Blu-Ray-DVD-Player- \(8\)Press the OK or PLAY/PAUSE button on the unit to start playback.
    The player will immediately start playing the DVD or BD.
    When you want to stop, press the STOP button, the player will go to the device main menu. The player can be recharged during use.

  7. About the RED LED light and the battery charge: Continuous Red Illumination:

    • Indicates that the mains adaptor is connected.

    • Signifies active charging of the battery.
      Red LED off:

    • The device is operating on battery power.

    • The battery is sufficiently charged for normal use. IF the battery was fully charged, then the Red LED is switched off.
      Flashing Red LED:

    • Signals a low battery level.

    • It’s a prompt to recharge the battery promptly.

Connections

  1. Connect to the HDMI

    • Connect a HDMI cable (not included) to the HDMI jack on this product and to the HDMI input jack on the TV.
    • Change the resolution to 1080P for the best image quality, if supported by the TV.
    • Change the resolution back to 720P for the best image quality on the built-in screen after disconnecting the HDMI cable.
      Tip
      To play video from a Blu-ray disc or DVD, the display device must support HDCP. This is a copyright protection system. (high-bandwidth digital content protection system.)
  2. Connect Network

    • Connect this product to the network to receive software updates and use BD-Live bonus content. Lenco-BRP-1150-Portable-Blu-Ray-DVD-Player- \(9\)Connect a network cable (not supplied) to the LAN jack on the right side of this product and connect this network cable to the LAN jack on your broadband modem or router.

For some Blu-ray discs, the resume function is not available.

Display Menu

Blu-ray discs:
TOP MENU: Stops the video playing and returns to the disc’s main menu.
This feature is disc-dependent.
POPUP: Open the menu without interrupting disc play.
DVD-video disc:
TOP MENU will display the root menu of a disc.
DISPLAY will display disc information and shows available functions on the disc.

Play a Blu-ray Video Disc
Blu-ray discs have larger capacity than DVD and support features such as high- definition video, multichannel surround sound and interactive menus.

1. Insert a Blu-ray disc.
2. Playback will automatically start. If not, select the play option in the menu and press OK.
3. During playback, you can press TOP MENU to display options, features and content available on the disc.
4. During playback, you can press POPUP to display the disc menu without interrupting playback.
5. During playback, press the [OSC] button on the remote to display an on- screen menu (As shown in the picture bellow) Second video 【BD-V】: Displays any second video tracks available on the disc. Use direction key to open the second video selection box, then press to select which track to use as full screen video and which one as second video window (picture in picture ).Lenco-BRP-1150-Portable-Blu-Ray-DVD-Player- \(16\) Second Audio 【BD-V】: Displays any second Audio tracks available. Use the direction key to open the selection box, then press to switch the audio track on or off.

BD-LIVE
You can use BD-Live functions, which enable you to use Interactive functions on the disc, if the unit is connected to the Internet using the LAN-port. Examples of BD-Live Interactive functions:

  1. Additional content (such as movie trailers, subtitles and online games) can be downloaded to a connected USB or SD storage device.
  2. Special video data may be played after being downloaded.
  3. When a disc supporting BD-Live is played, the product or the disc’s ID can be sent to the content provider via the Internet. Service and functions will differ depending on the disc.

Note

  • The unit must be connected and set up to access Internet.
  • Depending on the connection environment, it may take time to connect to the Internet. When BD-Live functions are used and the unit is connected to the Internet, any standard Internet service provider charges will apply.
  • Follow the instruction given by the disc when using the BD-Live function.
  • A USB or SD storage device is required to download the content (at least 1GB free space is recommended).

Before you use the BD-Live function, please set up your device first. Press the setup button to go into setup menu, then select SYSTEM. In this menu, select BUDA and then BUDA setup to select the EXTERNAL (USB) or CARD (SD) to choose where data is saved when using the BD-Live function.

Play a Photo Slideshow
You can view JPEG, GIF or PNG files on the player as a slideshow.

  1. Insert a disc or USB device that contains photo files
  2. Select a Photo folder, then press OK to play.
    • To select a Photo, use the Navigation buttons.
    • To view the selected Photo full-screen and start a slideshow, press OK.

Note

  • It may require more time to display the disc content on your TV if there are many songs or photos on the disc.
  • This product can only display pictures in the JPEG-EXIF, GIF or PNG format. It cannot display Motion JPEG, pictures in other formats or sound clips associated with Pictures.
  • Folders/files that exceed the supported limit of this product cannot be displayed or played.

Controlling Photo slideshow

  1. Begin a Photo slideshow.
  2. Use the remote control to control the play as follows:

Set slideshow interval and animation

  1. During slideshow playback, press OSC. An options menu will be displayed.
  2. Navigate the options with the Navigation button.
  3. Select an option in the menu, then press OK.

Playing music during a Photo slideshow
Create a musical slideshow to play music and show photos simultaneously.

Note
To play music during photo viewing, you must store the music on the same disc, USB device or memory card as the photos.

  1. Select your music to play and start play-back.
  2. Press Media Center to return to the main menu.
  3. Enter a photo folder, then press OK to start slideshow play.
    • Slideshow begins and continues until the end of the photo folder.
    • Audio continues to play until all music files have been played.
    • To stop the slideshow, Press
    • To stop the music, press again.

General Settings
Basic Operation for the Menu

  1. Press during playback
  2. Press SETUP, the SETUP MENU will appear on the screen.
  3. Choose between General, Display, Audio and System information with
  4. Select the setting you want to adjust with buttons and press  to confirm.
  5. You can press to return to the previous menu, or RETURN on the remote control.
  6. Select the option by and press
  7. You can press to return to the previous menu.
  8. On any setting, choose with buttons and press OK to confirm changing the setting.
  9. To exit the menu, press SETUP.

General Player Settings

System

  1. Screen Saver: Turns the screen saver on/off. The screen saver will display in 3 mins after playback is stopped or paused
  2. Disc Auto Playback: Turns the disc auto playback function on/off. A disc will play as soon as the disc cover is closed.
  3. Disc Auto Upgrade: Turns the Disc Auto Upgrade function on/off. This automatically installs any device updates available on an inserted disc.
  4. Load Default: Returns the player to its default settings.
  5. Upgrade: Select this when you want to upgrade your player software to the latest version using an upgrade file place on a disc, USB drive or SD-card.
  6. Easy setup: Change on-screen language, resolution and aspect ratio.
  7. BUDA: Define the memory location for downloaded content from the BD-LIVE service.
  • Note: The three options of BUDA location setup are “USB”, “On-board” & “Card”. Please make sure an SD-card or USB memory is connected first. The On-board memory is not sufficient to support most BD-Live functionality.

Language

  1. OSD: Selects the language of the device menu.
  2. Menu: Selects the menu language of DVD and Blu-ray discs.
  3. Audio: Selects the default audio language for DVD and Blu-ray discs.
  4. Subtitle: Selects the subtitle language for DVD and Blu-ray discs.

Note:
The audio and subtitle language will default to the disc’s default language (usually English) if the selected language is not available.

Playback

  1. Closed Caption: Turn the CC function (subtitles for the hearing impaired) on or off, if supported by the title.
  2. Angle Mark: Turn the Angle mark function on or off, this shows an icon if an alternate angle is available.
  3. PIP Mark: Turn the PIP mark function on or off, this shows an icon if a second video track for PiP is available.
  4. Secondary Audio Mark: Turn the Secondary Audio mark function on or off, this shows an icon if a second audio track is available.
  5. Last Memory: Turn the last memory function on or off, this allows a movie to resume playback where you last stopped watching.
  6. PBC: Turns remote control function during Video CD playback on or off.
  7. Audio Watermark Level3: Turns detection of DVD-audio watermarks on or off. In case an Audio DVD will not play, try changing this setting.

Security

  1. Change Password: Changes the password for parental control menu.
  2. Parental Control: Sets the age rating to limit the titles allowed to be played with the device.
  3. Country Code: Select the Country where the device is used to ensure compatibility with media.

Note
The original code is 0000.

Network

  • Connect this product to a broadband modem or router.
  • After it is powered on, the device will detect if there is a network connection.
  • If the connection test fails, select (Retry) and press OK to try and reconnect to the network again.
  1. Internet Connection: Enable or disable the network connection
  2. Information: Displays information about the connected network.
  3. Connection Test: Tests the Internet connection state.
  4. IP Setting: Sets the IP-address for the player (Auto is recommended).
  5. BD-Live Connection: Enable or disable connection to BD-Live services.
  6. Proxy Setting: Setup a proxy server.

Display Settings

TV

  1. TV Screen: Selects the aspect ratio of the TV. Change this setting if your image looks stretched during playback.
  2. Resolution: Selects the resolution of the TV. Select the resolution to be the same as your TV specification for the highest image quality and select 720p if the device is not connected to a TV.
  3. Color Space: Selects the color display used by the TV. Select to match your TV’s specification for the best image quality.
  4. HDMI Deep Color: Selects the color range for HDMI. Select to match your TV’s specification to ensure the best display of colors.
  5. HDMI 1080 24Hz: Enable/disable the 24Hz setting. Only enable this on capable displays. If the motion in a movie seems odd, disable this option.

Video Processing

  1. Video Adjust: Enter a submenu to adjust display settings. Adjust the Brightness, Contrast, Hue and Saturation of the screen. 2. Sharpness: Select how sharp details in video should appear.

Audio Setting

  1. HDMI: Selects the audio mode used when HDMI is connected. Select Bitstream if the device the Blu-ray player is connected to supports audio decoding. Otherwise, select PCM. You can also turn audio output off.
  2. Down Sampling: Selects down sampling. Select this when the device connected to the Blu-ray player is not 96KHz compatible)
  3. Dolby DRC: Set Dynamic range control on or off, or let the device decide. This option raises the volume of voices that otherwise might be drowned out by music or ambient sound.

Clean Discs
Wipe your discs with a microfiber cleaning cloth from the centre to the edge in straight line movements.

Note
To prevent possible damage to this product, do not turn off the power or remove the USB flash drive while a software update is in progress.

Caution
Never use solvents such as benzene, thinner, commercially available cleaners, or anti-static sprays intended for discs to clean the player.

Troubleshooting

WARNING: Risk of electric shock. Never remove the casing of the product. To keep the warranty valid, never try to repair the product yourself.
Before requesting any service, please check these possible resolutions.

No response from the remote control|

  • Make sure the player is charged or connected to a power outlet.
  • Ensure the batteries are new and inserted correctly in the remote control.
  • Point the remote control directly at the IR sensor located on the front panel of this product.

No sound on HDMI connection| Make sure the cable is fully inserted on both sides, volume is not set too low; the audio receiver or TV work normally; and the audio setting matches the receiver.

No picture on HDMI connection

|

  • If this player is connected to an unauthorized display device with an HDMI cable, the audio/video signal may not be displayed
  • Check if the HDMI cable is damaged or faulty. If so, replace the HDMI cable.
  • If this happens when you change the [resolution] setting, disconnect the Blu-ray player and change the resolution before reconnecting.

High-definition video signal not playing on the TV

|

  • Ensure that the HDMI cable is connected to the selected input of the TV
  • Assign the audio input of the TV to the corresponding video input. See the TV user manual for details.

No sound on HDMI connection| You may not hear any sound from the HDMI output if the connected device is non-HDCP compliant or only DVI compatible.

Disc cannot be played

|

  • Check if the disc is inserted properly
  • Check if this player supports the disc. See Specifications.
  • Check if the region code is supported by the player.
  • For DVD+RW, make sure that the disc is finalized.
  • Clean the disc.

Data Files cannot be played or read

|

  • Check if the data file was recorded in the standard UDF, ISO9660 or JOLIET formats.
  • Check if the extension of a photo is .jpg, jpeg, gif or png.

No-entry sign appears on the TV|  The requested operation is not possible for this media.

Unable to access BD-Live feature

|

  • Check the internet connection and if the network Internet connection has been enabled in the menu
  • Clear USB storage.
  • Check if the BD disc supports BD Live Feature and that these are still supported by the publisher.
