PRECAUTIONS BEFORE USE
KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN MIND

Do not cover or block any ventilation openings. When placing the device on a shelf, leave 5 cm (2”) free space around the whole device.

Install in accordance with the supplied user manual.

Keep the device away from heat sources such as radiators, heaters, stoves, candles and other heat-generating products or naked flame. The device can only be used in moderate climates. Extremely cold or warm environments should be avoided. Working temperature between 0° and 35°C.

Avoid using the device near strong magnetic fields.

Electrostatic discharge can disturb normal usage of this device. If so, simply reset and restart the device following the instruction manual. During file transmission, please handle with care and operate in a static-free environment.

Warning! Never insert an object into the product through the vents or openings. High voltage flows through the product and inserting an object can cause electric shock and/or short circuit internal parts. For the same reason, do not spill water or liquid on the product.

If the product is delivered with power cable or AC power adaptor:
- If any trouble occur, disconnect the AC power cord and refer servicing to qualified personnel.

CHARGING THE UNIT
Before using, it is recommended to charge unit for at least 2 hours. During
charging, there is a charging symbol shown on the display.
BASIC OPERATION
Connect the earphone (included) into the PHONES OUT on the side of the unit.
AC/DC Adaptor (Not Supplied) Operation
Press and hold the ON button to turn on the unit. To turn off to the Standby
mode (with display of time and date), press and hold the OFF button.
Built-in Battery Operation (AC/DC Adaptor NOT Connected)
Press and hold the ON button to turn on the unit. To turn off the Standby mode
(with display of time and date), press and hold the OFF button. Press and hold
the OFF button again will turn the unit to the OFF mode for power saving
(without display).
DAB+ / FM / CD
Press the SOURCE button to select between different sources.
Volume Control
Press the VOLUME + / – button to change the volume. This CD player has a
hearing protection and will limit the volume and give you a warning when the
volume becomes too high; you have to press the ENTER (12) button to confirm
that you want to increase the volume, then press the VOLUME + (3) button to
increase the volume level.
Adjusting the DAB+ / FM Reception
The earphone wire serves as the antenna. Therefore fully extend the earphone
wire and place the unit to a location to ensure a good DAB+ / FM reception.
DAB+ OPERATION
The first time in the DAB+ mode, it will automatically scan for available DAB+
stations. Wait until the scanning has finished. The display will show the
scanning progress. After scanning it will tune to the first station.
Auto Scan
- Turn on the unit in DAB+ mode.
- Press and hold the SCAN button to start auto-scanning the available stations.
Manual Scan
By using the manual scan operation, it can help you to adjust the unit
position or search station that is missed while auto scanning.
- Turn on the unit in DAB+ mode.
- Press and hold the MENU button to access the menu control.
- Press the button until “Manual tunel” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button to select the desired channel (5A 13F).
- Press the ENTER button to confirm. Adjust the unit position for the best reception if necessary.
- To select another channel (5A 13F), press the or button and then press the ENTER button to confirm.
- When the station is found, press the ENTER button to select.
- To quit manual scan, press the MENU button repeatedly.
Tuning
After scanning all the available DAB stations, press the button to display and
navigate the station list. Then press the ENTER button to tune to this station
within a few seconds.
Storing DAB+ Presets
You can save up to 30 DAB+ stations.
- Tune to the station you wish to store.
- Press and hold the PRESET button, “Preset Store” will be displayed.
- Press the button to select the desired preset number to store.
- Press the ENTER button to store.
Recall Stored DAB+ Presets
- Press the PRESET button, “Preset Recall” will be displayed.
- Press the button to select the desired preset number to recall.
- Press the ENTER button to recall.
Displaying DAB+ Station Information
There are several types of information provided by the radio station. To
display the information, press the INFO / MENU repeatedly.
OTHER DAB+ MENU OPERATION
Press and hold the MENU button to access the menu control. Then press the
button for different options as described below.
Dynamic Range Control (DRC)
DRC can make quieter sounds easier to hear when the unit is used in a noisy
environment. The DRC level of a broadcast is set by the broadcaster and
transmitted with the service. Changing the DRC value on your unit enables you
to apply a scaling factor to this level.
There are three levels of compression:
- DRC high: Maximum compression as sent with the transmitted service
- DRC low: Set to 1/2 that of the sent transmitted service
- DRC off: No compression
- Press and hold the MENU button to access the menu control.
- Press the button until “DRC” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button to select the DRC value and then press the ENTER to confirm.
- Press the MENU button repeatedly to exit the menu control.
Note
- Not all DAB+ broadcasts can use the DRC function. If the broadcast does not support DRC then the DRC setting in the unit will have no effect.
- After you have adjusted the DRC level the sound may be louder.
Prune
This function removes invalid stations.
- Press and hold the MENU button to access the menu control.
- Press the button until “Prune” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button to select “Yes” and then press the ENTER button to prune the unit.
- Press the MENU button repeatedly to exit the menu control.
FM RADIO OPERATION
Auto Scan
- Turn on the unit in FM mode.
- Press and hold the SCAN button to start auto scanning and saving the available stations (max. 30 storage).
Manual Scan
- Press the button repeatedly to tune to a different frequency, 0.05MHz per step.
- Alternatively press and hold the button to automatically search to the next available station.
Storing FM Presets
You can save up to 30 FM stations.
- Tune to the station you wish to store.
- Press and hold the PRESET button, “Preset Store” will be displayed.
- Press the button to select the desired preset number to store.
- Press the ENTER button to store.
Recall Stored FM Presets
- Press the PRESET button, “Preset Recall” will be displayed.
- Press the button to select the desired preset number to recall.
- Press the ENTER button to recall.
Displaying FM Station Information
There are several types of information provided by the radio station. To
display the information, press the INFO / MENU repeatedly.
FM MENU OPERATION
Press and hold the MENU button to access the menu control. Then press the button for different options as described below.
Scan Setting
- Press and hold the MENU button to access the menu control.
- Press the button until “Scan setting” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button to toggle between “Strong stations only” and “All stations”. Press the ENTER button to confirm. When the “Strong stations only” is selected, scanning will ignore the noisy stations and only capture the strong stations. When “All stations” is selected, all possible stations will be captured during scanning even if it is a bit noisy.
- The next time doing the scanning the unit will search for the stations based on this scan setting.
CD OPERATION
Loading and Playing CD Disc
Open the CD door. Install a disc with the CD label side facing up. Close the
CD door. Press the SOURCE button to CD mode. After reading, it will
automatically start to play.
Play/Pause Control
To pause playback press the PLAY/PAUSE button. Press the button again to
resume playback.
Stop Control
To stop playback press the STOP button.
Skip Track
During playback press the button to skip to the previous or next track.
High Speed Music Search
During playback press & hold the button to start high speed searching. When
you release the button normal speed playback will resume.
Repeat Play / Random Play CD Disc mode
- During playback press the P-MODE button once, the display shows “REP 1”. The current track will be played repeatedly.
- When pressing the P-MODE button again, the display shows “REP ALL”. All tracks will be played repeatedly.
- When pressing the P-MODE button again, the display shows “RANDOM”. All tracks will be played in random sequence.
- When pressing the P-MODE button again, the display shows “INTRO”. All tracks will be played for a few seconds only at the beginning.
- When pressing the P-MODE button again, the unit will resume to normal playback.
MP3 Disc
- During playback press the P-MODE button once, the display shows “REP 1”. The current track will be played repeatedly.
- When pressing the P-MODE button again, the display shows “REP ALL”. All tracks will be played repeatedly.
- When pressing the P-MODE button again, the display shows “REP DIR”. All tracks in the current folder will be played repeatedly.
- When pressing the P-MODE button again, the display shows “RANDOM”. All tracks will be played in random sequence.
- When pressing the P-MODE button again, the display shows “INTRO”. All tracks will be played for a few seconds only at the beginning.
- When pressing the P-MODE button again, the unit will resume to normal playback.
Programmed Playback CD Disc Mode Programming Playback
This unit can be programmed to play a sequence of tracks selected.
- In stop mode press the P-MODE button, the display shows the program number “P01” and the flashing track number.
- Press the button to select the desired track.
- Press the P-MODE button to save the desired track.
- Repeat steps 2-3 to program up to 20 programmed tracks.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playing the programmed tracks.
- To clear the program play, press the STOP button twice or change to another mode.
- During program play you can also do the “Repeat One” or “Repeat All” operation, however, intro and random play is not supported.
MP3 Disc Mode Programming Playback
- In stop mode press the P-MODE button, the display shows the program number “P01” and the flashing folder/track number.
- Press the button to select the desired track.
- Press the P-MODE button to save the desired track.
- Repeat steps 2-3 to program up to 99 programmed tracks.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playing the programmed tracks.
- To clear the program play, press the STOP button twice or change to another mode.
- During program play you can also do the “Repeat One” or “Repeat All” operation, however intro and random play is not supported.
Note:
- Besides playing CDDA audio disc, the unit can also play MP3 file. However, WMA file and others are not supported.
- Folders or file numbers on the disc that exceed the supported limit of this product cannot be played.
Resume Playback
After pressing the STOP button to stop the playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE
button will continue playback from where you have stopped.
ANTI-SHOCK PROTECTION
The unit has an electronic anti-shock protection function to prevent any
interruption of the sound output when the unit is subjected to shock or
vibration during disc playback. The unit’s internal buffer can provide
typically 45 seconds when playing a CDDA disc and typically 120 seconds when
playing a CD MP3 disc of protection against interruption of sound output. If
the player is subjected to shock or vibration for a longer time than the
buffer is full, some interruption of sound output will occur. This is normal.
The sound will resume once the unit is stabilized from the shock or vibration.
Note
- The anti-skip function provides for continuous sound output when the unit is subjected to shock or vibration. It will not compensate for errors arising from the use of defective, scratched or dirty discs.
BBS
You can enhance the bass effect of the music. Pressing the BBS button will
toggle the bass boost between ON and OFF.
BUTTON HOLD FUNCTION
To avoid any accidental button press during operation, the unit has a function
of button hold. When the unit is turned on, set the HOLD SWITCH to ON
position. Locked symbol will be shown on the LCD display. To release the
button lock, slide it to OFF position
SYSTEM MENU OPERATION
Press and hold the MENU button to access the menu control. Press the button
until “System” is displayed and then press the ENTER button. Press the button
for different options as described below.
Time Setup
This setup allows you to set up 4 different display modes. They are:
- Set Time/Date
- Auto update
- Set 12/24 hour
- Set date format
Set Time/Date
- Turn on the unit in DAB mode or FM mode.
- Press and hold the MENU button to access the menu control.
- Press the button until “System” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button until “Time” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button until “Set Time/Date” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Hour digits will be flashed. Press the button to change to hour value and then press the ENTER button.
- Minute digits will be flashed. Press the button to change to minute value and then press the ENTER button.
- If 12 hour display is set, “AM or “PM” will be flashed. Press the button to set AM or PM and then press the ENTER button to confirm.
- Then the unit will request to set the date. Follow the similar procedures as listed above to complete the setup of day, month and year.
- Press the MENU button repeatedly to exit the menu control.
Auto Update
- Turn on the unit in DAB mode or FM mode.
- Press and hold the MENU button to access the menu control.
- Press the button until “System” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button until “Time” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button until “Auto update” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button to change between
- Update from Any: Time and Date will be updated by either DAB or FM broadcast
- Update from DAB: Time and Date will be updated by DAB broadcast only
- Update from FM: Time and Date will be updated by FM broadcast only
- No Update: Time and Date will never be updated by broadcast
- Select your desired and then press the ENTER button to confirm.
- Press the MENU button repeatedly to exit the menu control.
Set 12/24 Hour Display
- Turn on the unit in DAB mode or FM mode.
- Press and hold the MENU button to access the menu control.
- Press the button until “System” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button until “Time” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button until “Set 12/24 hour” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button to toggle between 12 or 24-hour display. Select your desired and then press the ENTER button to confirm.
- Press the MENU button repeatedly to exit the menu control.
Set Date Format
- Turn on the unit in DAB mode or FM mode.
- Press and hold the MENU button to access the menu control.
- Press the button until “System” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button until “Time” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button until “Set date format” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button to toggle between “DD MM YYYY” or “MM DD YYYY” date display. Select your desired and then press the ENTER button to confirm.
- Press the MENU button repeatedly to exit the menu control.
Language Setup
You can set the language of the unit.
- Turn on the unit in DAB+ mode or FM mode.
- Press and hold the MENU button to access the menu control.
- Press the button until “System” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button until “Language” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button to toggle between different languages. Select your desired language and then press the ENTER button to confirm.
- Press the MENU button repeatedly to exit the menu control.
Software Version Check
You can check the software version of the unit.
- Turn on the unit in DAB+ mode or FM mode.
- Press and hold the MENU button to access the menu control.
- Press the button until “System” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button until “SW version” is displayed and then press the ENTER button to show the software version number.
- Press the MENU button repeatedly to exit the menu control.
Factory Reset
This function resets the unit to the original factory settings.
- Turn on the unit in DAB+ mode or FM mode.
- Press and hold the MENU button to access the menu control.
- Press the button until “System” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button until “Factory Reset” is displayed and then press the ENTER button.
- Press the button until “Yes” is displayed and then press the ENTER button to reset the unit.
BATTERY LEVEL SAVING
In order to save the battery consumption, the unit in CD mode pause or without
playback for 1 minute will automatically turn off to the standby mode.
Trouble Shooting
No power
- Ensure that the unit is switched on and the battery is fully charged.
No sound output
- Turn up the volume.
Disc in place but the unit won’t play
- Ensure that the disc label is facing up.
- Ensure that the disc is clean.
- PAUSE mode may be activated, deactivate it.
- The disc may be damaged or dirty; check and clean the disc.
DAB+/FM reception
- Ensure the earphone (antenna) wire is fully extended.
- Electrical interference in your home can cause poor reception. Move the unit away from them (especially those with motors and transformers).
Sound interference coming from the earphones
- Move any wireless devices (mobile phone, bluetooth device etc.) away from the unit.
