BluMill PO-B6 Pizza Oven

Please read these operating instructions carefully before using the appliance and save them for future reference.

Warning:

  • This appliance is not intended to be operated using an external timer or separate remote-control system.

  •  This appliance is not to be used by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or a lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction.

  • Children should be supervised and should not be allowed to play with the appliance.

  •  This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and older and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or a lack of
    experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction on how to use the appliance safely and understand the
    hazards involved.

  • Children should not be allowed to clean and maintain the appliance without supervision.

  • Children should not be allowed to clean and maintain the appliance unless they are older than 8 and supervised.

  • Keep the appliance and its power cord out of reach of children younger han 8 years.

Safety Precautions

  •  Use the appliance only as indicated in the instructions.
  •  Improper use will invalidate the warranty.
  •  This appliance is not intended for commercial or professional use.
  • Check that the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to your local mains voltage before connecting it to the mains power supply.
  • Use a grounded electrical outlet.
  •  Do not use if the appliance, the power cord, or plug are damaged.
  •  Protect the appliance, power cord, and plug from contact with water. Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
  •  Protect the appliance, power cord, and plug from contact with heat sources.
  •  Disconnect from the mains power supply when not in use. Store the appliance preferably in its original packaging.
  •  Make sure your hands are dry when you disconnect the appliance from the mains power supply. Pull out the plug and do not pull on the cord.

  •  Do not use the pizza oven in damp areas.

  • Look after the appliance and do not leave it unattended when turned on.
  •  Place the appliance on a firm and flat surface.
  •  Let the appliance cool down for at least 30 minutes before cleaning and/or storing.
  •  Do not move the appliance during operation.
  • Various parts of the pizza oven can get very hot. Touching these parts will result in burns.
  •  Always lift the terracotta lid by the handle and use oven gloves or potholders.
  • The metal parts of the spatulas get very hot so you should hold the spatulas by the handles.
  •  Ensure that the pizza oven is freestanding and does not come into contact with combustible materials. Do not cover the pizza oven.
  •  Do not prepare meat in the pizza oven, because fat from the meat may splash onto the heating element and cause a fire.
  • Use the pizza oven only with the terracotta lid placed on top.
  •  The terracotta lid is very fragile.
  • The appliance and accessories are not dishwasher-proof.
  • Repairs must be carried out only by authorized technicians. Users must not open the appliance.
  •  If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

BluMill PO-B6 Pizza Oven -1The packaging material can be reused or recycled. The packaging materials must be disposed of at appropriate waste disposal sites. You should contact your supplier immediately if you detect any damage which has occurred during transport.

Installation

Fit the handle to the lid manually, using the nut. Do not overtighten, because the lid can easily break.
Clean the baking tray and spatulas before using the pizza oven for the first time.
When first used, the pizza oven may give off a small amount of smoke and a distinctive smell. This is normal and will disappear after a short while.

Operation

Place the pizza oven on a stable and flat surface that is resistant to heat and splashes.
Ventilate the room when using the pizza oven.
Insert the plug into the wall outlet and switch the unit on. Let the pizza oven preheat for 10 minutes.
Use the spatula to slide the pizza into the pizza oven. Leave the pizza on the spatula so that you can easily remove it again.
Bake the pizza for 5 to 7 minutes. Place the pizza on your plate. Please note that the spatula is very hot. It should be placed on a heat-resistant surface.
After use, switch the appliance off and disconnect from the mains power supply.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Ensure that the power is switched off immediately and leave the appliance to cool down for at least 30 minutes before cleaning and storing.
The terracotta lid must have completely cooled down before coming into contact with water. Do not place the warm lid on a cold surface because this may cause damage due to it cooling down too quickly.
There is no need to clean the terracotta lid after normal use. The terracotta lid is not dishwasher-proof and neither are the other components of the pizza oven.
The baking tray and spatulas can be hand washed with a brush in warm water.
Clean the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Do not use hard brushes, abrasives, scourers or liquids such as alcohol, petrol or acetone. After cleaning, dry well with a dry cloth. Under no circumstances should you immerse the appliance in water.
Store the appliance in its original packaging in a dry and cool place. Do not store if it is not completely dry. Grease the baking tray slightly if the pizza oven is not used for an extended period of time.

Waste Management

Do not dispose of this appliance with other household waste. Dispose of all waste electric or electronic appliances, regardless of whether they contain armful substances or not, by taking them to an environmental depot or to a dealer, so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. Recipes

Pizza dough

500 g of flour Pinch of salt 4 tablespoons of olive oil 20 g of fresh yeast or 1 a packet of dry yeast 250 ml of lukewarm water

Recipe with fresh yeast:

  • Mix the flour with the
  • olive oil and salt in a bowl.
  • Dissolve the fresh yeast in the lukewarm water and stir until smooth.
  • Mix the smooth yeast mixture with the flour.

Recipe with dry yeast:

  • Mix together the flour, olive oil, salt, dried yeast, and lukewarm water.
  • Knead into a smooth dough. Alternatively, you can use a blender or food processor.
  • Cover the bowl with a cloth and leave to rise for 45 minutes until it has doubled in volume.
  • Sprinkle the dough with flour and roll it out until it is 3 mm thick. Turn the dough occasionally and sprinkle with flour to prevent it from sticking.
  •  Use the round dough form to cut out the pizza bases.

Tomato sauce

1 tin of peeled tomatoes
1 small tin of tomato paste Salt & pepper Oregano
2 tablespoons of olive oil
2 cloves of garlic

  • Finely chop the peeled tomatoes.
  • Mix all the ingredients to create a sauce.

Topping tips

Cheeses: mozzarella, grated Parmesan, grated Gouda, etc.
Seafood: smoked salmon, prawns, canned tuna, etc.
Vegetables: green peppers, rocket lettuce, olives, mushrooms, spinach, onions, etc.
Herbs: basil, pepper, salt, Italian spices, etc.
Meat: ham, bacon, salami, etc.
Place the toppings for the pizzas in cups on the table.

  • Grease the spatulas with a little oil and place them on your plate.
  • Place one pizza base on the spatula.
  • Add some tomato sauce to the pizza base. Leave about half an inch of dough at the edge.
  • Top the pizza with ingredients of your choice.
